I was told last night that Hull had sold over 500 tickets for the game here on Saturday. Only coming to see the Iron of course :)

If this figure is correct Ian, they be outnumber the Scunny fans that are still with the club.

Having not bought one this season I thought I might try Lincoln but there is a long waiting list – no chance
Can’t remember when I last missed one to watch SUFC

I missed one match in the past 13 years since retirement, that was the Sunderland game after sitting in the club car park for an hour, before finding that my season ticket was in a jacket back in Barton. But I will be one of the missing fans this season, just because after the past three seasons, I have that feeling that this season will be even worse if that is possible!!!!. 20 players have left the club, and the four signings to date are four more defenders!!!!!!, just looking back to the end of last season, Scunny failed to score a goal in eight of our last ten matches, and we are now faced with Turan, Hippolyte, Jarvis, Green and Loft, most of whome could not make the team last season!!!

Maybe the club should try pushing the ticket sales on the club web-site !!!!!, I cannot help but think that this situation is being developed for some reason, it is difficult to think how a club can have fallen so badly as Scunny, and at the same time of losing such vast sums of money, why were questions not asked by management on why this situation was happening, and why was a stop not put in place??, we actually started last season witheight straight losses, and ended it with one win in eighteen matches, and WE STILL HAVE THE MANAGER AND HIS SQUAD IN CHARGE, THIS IS NOT REAL, OR IS IT BECAUSE THE CHAIRMAN DOES NOT LIKE SACKING MANAGERS??

Things look decidedly dicey over there – cancelling friendlies, no management team in place, fewer players than us (which is something in itself), players not being fully paid, players leaving – the list goes on. Have a read on the BBC if you haven’t seen it yet.

If it carries on, then it might be one game we could win this season :)

No Ian, not a win mate, possibly a 0-0 draw, you cannot win matches without forwards.

It was nice to see the Denmark team stand and give five seconds of clapping whilst the England team didthe knee thing, this method of Denmarks looked very respectful,
andlooked very proper, and also did not annoy people that do not want to see it happening before every game. Very good action by them, and well done.

Awaywego—same as stated mate, it is too late to consider takingon board what supporters actually think and wish to suggest. Us long term supporters of the club have lost our stadium, car park and training pitch land, we have also lost our better players and are now left with a very poor squad for the coming season. We have also lost any idea’s regarding watching entertaining football, and money has dried up, so any new recruits will be what can be obtained on low wages and no longer wanted by their present clubs.

So after asswssing this, the club must have come up with this fans meeting thing after seeing the pathetic to date sale of season tickets, after the continual plugging every day on the club site, this is not what fans need telling dailey, they want to read of a few new players coming in to replace the 18 ditched during the summer, like a good centre forward, a clever winger and a goal keeper, not even more defenders, although after saying that, we don’t attack, so it may be right to bring ib nore defenders!!! No it is far too late for this suggested system.

Sharp-shooter, After speaking to four of the fans that have sat more or less in a small area near me, all of whome have given up on the club and the way it has been operated during the past three seasons, I am led to believe that ever present supporter Sanfran has also had enough, so it will probably be between 250 and 300, instead of the normal this stage of the year when 1,200 to 1,400 have been sold.

My son that lives in Derby has been talking to the pair of Scunny fans that also live in Derby, and those have not missed an home or away match in over 12 years, they have also had more than their share of the way Scunthorpe play these days and will like myself turn up to see just an odd match, I have supported Scunny for 70 years, a season ticket holder for the past 12 years, missing just one home game during that time (when I had left my ticket at home after sitting on the car park for an hour), so if fans like ourselves have finished, I would suspect many, many more will not be in their normal seats.

What really finished me was when Mr Swann informed supporters out of the blue, “that his company have taken ownership of the football ground, car park and training field land”, along with the system that Cox plays, defensive unenjoyable boring rubbish, and the off loading of the decent players and keeping what is left, playing under Coxes tactics, what a thought.

But Mr Swann did tell Radio Humberside that we have a good squad of young players, and it will be interesting seeing how Cox developes them over the next three seasons!!, I am sorry Peter, but at the age of 80, three years sitting in the Cluggy does not appeal to me, even though he said that he wants fans to stick with the team, and keep turning up!!!!!!!!!!!

Heath, Deerey etc, what of the players still making the “black power”salute?
    Do you support that too?

And Heath, please, please learn what “bigot” means.
It’s NOT THE SAME as racist.
Google or wiki is your friend.

They are all members of the FORUM SIX Alcazar, theirs is the only acceptable info that can be taken as being the opinion of the general section of British people, others that feel differently are all racists, you should know this by reading what they JOINTLY put on this forum, it has been going on for a couple of years or more.

Why do people that have and express their own views on their opinions accept the views of people that do not comply with them??. I do not agree that all this calling players bad names exists, and have never heard it happening at any football match. This knee thing in my opionion is wrong, and to continie doing it is also wrong, can anyone please tell me what has to change that will end it, and how can anyone decide that it has changed, simply because we have never heard it in the first place, how can it be prooved it has changed????. Is it right for people to not agree with the knee?, is it right for people to not agree with those people that think it is ok for endless boat loads of refugees to invade our country???, and to the point why are either to be classed as being racists.

I am personally against both of these, so in the opionions of lefties, I am a racist, if that is ok, then so be it, I will not be losing any sleep on what those kind of people think.

Two things that amazed and pleased me watching last nights match, were how brilliant the officials performed, in my opinion they got every thing right, the other thing was, wasn’t it great to see all players and subs playing their games without all of that stupid diving and swisting to gain free kicks, that wa apart from Stirling who reminds me of that bloody Young that used to do it throughout the games. Very good win, and a change to see us attack more than usual, just a pity Grealish did not get time om the pitch, he will maybe start on Wednesday, but looking forward to that game, but it will be a lot more difficult than last night.

What was the shock statement from Mr Swann was when he said that we have a very good squad of players, and is hoping for supporters to turn up and watch them develop over the next three years, and he wants the young guys to play entertaining football!!!!!!, that comes after watching the shite offered to us over the past three seasons. Is he actually dreaming of fans sitting there with the team playing under Coxes instructions and playing entertaining football???????, Mr Peter is in for a big shock when the new season starts.

I shouldn’t complain as we need signings but centre back is the only area of the pitch where we have decent players. Its forward looking players we need more than anything.

Why are you wanting forwaRDS Random when the team tactics are set up to defend at all times????

Swann wants non-league football at Scunny, thats why our better players have all been binned, another reason that backs this view is the fact that Cox is still in charge after his terrible record of last season, there is nothing coming from the club for loyal fans, well that should read ex-loyal fans, the only club info that keeps appearing is that season tickets are on sale, but I would think that supporters would need a bit of Swanns usual bullshit, like we have been fed over the past 7 years, and we have all taken it in until this season!!!!!!!!!!

Tonights match between Germany and Belgium was how football used to be played, thrilling from kick off till the final whistle, a real credit to both teams. When you watch England play, it reminds me of the style applied at Scunthorpe, 110% concentration on defence, boring side and back passing throughout, no interest in attack, and that James full back is the most pathetic fullback ever to play for England, not one forward pass during the full game, Southgate is a poor manager, but obviously a yes man to the league bosses and fully deserved the booing at half time and full time. And how pathetic have things come to when a recording of crowd cheering was played of the vanoy system in order to drown the booing when the players continue to Take the Knee as they insist on being the only team to continue doing the waste of time activity that many supporters do not agree with.

The club has big problems with it’s debt, no longer the owner of it’s land or ground, a very poor playing squad, a very, very poor management staff squad, and when the season kicks off we will see how many supporters will be bothering to attend this present day rubbish that has been served up over the past 4 seasons, there is a shock coming.

When I took a few friends to the Scunny Restaurant of Sunday lunch I was refused entry, I took a French guy, an Irish pal, a Jock, a German guy, a Nigerian man, an Egyptian, an Austrian and a Taffy, I was stopped at the Restaurant entrance and the doorman said to me, “Barton, you know the rules like all others, you cannot come in without a Thai” !!!!!!!

Nearly all bad mouthing of him from the forum members, but he has shown that he can be a very good player, and we do not know his side of the story. He was reported to be on £800 salary per week whilst players like Turan, Hippolytie whore on more than him, and they are pure rubbish, and would any of you gus want to work under Coxes playing systems, or should I say non-playing system. He will do well at Grimsby and we will be changing places no doubt next season when we head into the National League. Pity he has gone, and with the likes of Green, Loft, Hippolyte and Jarvis and of cource Coxews team of clowns still at the club, god help us.

Would have been nice for you to tell him to his face that you won’t be attending after 70 years of supporting the iron rather than informing us at every given opportunity.

Cliff, I would have looked a right twat going up to him at a Speedway Meeting and telling him that I would not be going to see his football team next season don’t you agree, some of us can control what we say, and I am certainly not the only supporter to say a few times that I have finished going to GP till things change, so a bit bloody stupid for you to come out with that childish statement.

Actually Awaywego, I didn’t know it was him until it was pointed out to me by the Scunthorpe Supporters Club Chairman who I was talking to, but he will already be aware that many of us long term supporters have had their fill of the things that have gone on at GP during the past 4 years. I cannot see why you are shocked by the fact that many of us will no longer be turning out to watch such shite, and with the remaining players things can only get worse, I did manage to tell Neil that Awaywego and Uptheiron69 will be still sitting in the directors seating, he told me that the two named where actually the same person. Please do not come back and tell us that we are not true fans if we turn our backs on the club, I assume 70 years of attending is enough to back up what I say. As I have stated many times mate, I shall possibly still go to an odd match, but that will only happen if they change this defensive boring shite, but that is not very likely is it.
Anyway Awaywego, I wish you all the joy at the games, and hope you see Scunny score a few goals.

No doubt the chairman will then say that is is the fans who are running down the club not him!

Northumbiron—The fans no longer have a club pal, the ground, car park and training pitch have been taken from us, along with any decent players we have had, all we are left with are a small bunch of sub-standard players and another prospect of a relegation fight to stay as a Football League team, but the 2021/2 may end up being the clubs last.

I have met many Scunny supporters, mostly long term season ticket holders for countless years, most of which have had as much as they can take of the GP happenings over the past four seasons, all the carrots that have been dangled, but it has taken me, and possibly most of them six years of 100% backing of what Mr Swann has been telling us, to realise that it has all been bullshit, and no Championship football, no New Stadiums, no refurbished stadium, no appartments, no decent players left at the club, and the latest being informed by the Chairman that he is now the owner of all our land and stadium. So we no longer have any reason to continue trecking down to GP on our Saturdays and Tuesday nights to watch Mr Swanns Scunthorpe United play their boring defensive rubbish, in other words, we have lost our club, and Mr Swann has lost us suppoerters, and it is pointless Awaywego coming on here and saying we will be there, because there will be a few members of a certain family that will sit up and be thinking why are fans no longer turning up????????

Neil Cox was at the Scorpions v Eastbourne Championship Speedway meeting tonight, either looking at signing a couple of our riders to put a bit of enthusiasme and fight into the Iron team, or was he just wanting to watch some entertaining all action sport after the miserable season played out by his inapt shower of so called footballers.

It will finish bartonscorpion if Slowcoach comes back, the best example of a stay on your line keeper we’ve ever had IMO. Also the only keeper I’ve seen timewasting after 10 minutes of a home game that’s still 0-0. Please let Smudger be wrong.

Cass, I am sorry my good friend, but I am already finished after my trial period of 70 years, I just cannot see any point in spending another minute watching the shite that is now being offered at GP.. When Cox gets bladdered after another couple of months of defensive losses, I will review my status, but once anyone packs in something, it is often difficult going back.

Regarding Slocombe being better than Watson BigToe, he would also be better than slow motion Howard, and now Howard has gone, it will give the grass a chance of growing on the goal line!!

I wander how many more of Coxes ex-players will be heading back to GP. that will be Slocombe and the Harrogate ex-mate of Coxes, I wonder if Cliff Byrne and Novak will be interested in further spells at Scunny???.

Yes Deerey, it turned out being an enjoyable two hours and lots of good riding, but we will not be racing against many two men teams this season. Funny thing though, there was a group of us consisting of two of my sons, the two good friends that have sat in front of me at GP for many yess, and three others that stand with us at Speedway, we had a good crack between us, but it turned very cold towards the end of the meeting. Sadly but understandably, all have lost any interest in attending any Iron games next season, they are like myself and cannot see any atraction any more. Thanks for your kind comments Deerey, certainly a nice gesture from you, and I am getting bye probably because of my close family of 3 sons and my daughter and all of the grand kids etc, take care yourself mate and as stated before, I shall still attend a few matches, but will certainly not comit myself for my usual season ticket, but it will be nice to see a few of the nearbye friends if any of them still go!!!!!

I did not say that Hopper and Wootton were world beaters, but compared with the likes of our present retained players Turan, Loft, Hippolyite and Green at least they were far better players, these one’s we now have have no basic ball control whatsoever, but sadly if we di have world beaters, they would be thrown into our only style of playing, run all over like hradless chickens and hardly touch the ball.

Deereyme, I understand what you say about meeting up with friends that you have sat near for many years, but I am sorry to say that most of those fans will no longer be attending also, I was at the Speedway meeting today, and the two friends that sit just in front of me told me that they had also finished as supporters after many years as fans, their watching of the i-follow games this season has also influenced their reasons, same as my own. Loyaly is one thing, but I think that loyalty is a two way thing, the club do not appear to be dshowing any loyalty themselves, first they get rid of any decent players like Gilliead who is our one player worth turning out to watch, then they take our clubs ground and land from us, and now they want us to remain loyal by turning out to watch a team of very poor players that are playing to a management team of clueless clowns that want to play defensive rubbish even ewhen playing at home, enough is enough. I have just paid out of my pension £240 season ticket + £230 for all away i-follower matches the season just ended, and cannot really remember a single game that was a joy to watch.

Whilst I am on the subject of club loyalty, mine is again being tested in two hours time when our first Speedway meeting of the season takes place against Plymouth, the team appears to have been assembled on the cheap, and are budding wooden spoonists, again after only missing one meetring in the past twelve years, if we cannot compete with the other teams, and we continue like the football club, it will also be a stay away event, money and time is paid out in return for entertainment.

Don’t let all that beat you down in to not going regularly next year BS.

Deereyme66——-The reason there will be no purchase of a season ticket ever again pal is because our football club is now being run by a squad of people that have forgot why supporters turn out on a Saturday by driving from their homes, sitting in the car park for 45 mins, then spending 90 mins in the Cluggy Stand (with me its often 75 or 80 mins ha ha). I do not know what the management views are on why we do this, but for years it was “because we wanted to be entertained, and watch our team playing to win matches”, all that has now vanished from the GP present day set up, and the entertainment and enjoyment has been eliminated from the way that the club now sets itself up as, one player up front, one shot on target in most games, eight of our last ten games has seen us score ZERO goals, yes eight of our last ten matches without scoring even ONE GOAL, thats twelve bloody hours without scoring!!!!

    SUMMARY.
IT IS NOT ABOUT LOYALTY, I THINK MY LOYALTY HAS BEEN TESTED OVER THE PAST 70 YEARS, IT IS SO SIMPLE, WHEN ENJOYMENT IS NO LONGER ON OFFER YOU JUST DON’T BOTHER YOUR ARSE IN TURNING OUT, WHAT’S THE POINT?????

I always liked Tom Hopper, and Wootton, both are far better players than the present Green, Hippolyte, Loft and although we have not seen Swanns star striker Turan, simply because he is even worse than those I have just named. There are so many of our ex players that become star players with other teams, but we manage to sign so many useless players that can never ever become league two players. That is why we never score goals, and most matches have two shots maximum on target. Sadly our football club is now not worth following any more, Lincoln who are at Wembley next week playing to gain promotion into the Champiuonship (by the way, they were non-league four years ago) when we were playing at the top of league one, now they have taken our place, and we will next season take the non-league position they were in four years ago, this just shows what clueless clowns are now running our once popular little family enyertaining club, these people should hang their heads in shame. From a keen supporter of 70 years since 1951, and long time season ticket holder until the coming season. I ewill possibly select a game or two, but will not tie myself with any more season tickets, those days are truely over for me.
