It’ll be Slocombe who also played under Cox at Notts County. At least it’s a slight improvement on Watson.

Yosemite Sam would be preferable, he’s a cartoon character who would do well in our comedy set up.

Thought this was a belated reference to Sam Johnstone being named in the England squad.

Reckon he’ll make the final cut too. If I had to ditch one of the four keepers it would be Ramsdale.

I would never have imagined Sam Johnstone in the England Squad when he was here, Ramsdale reminds me of Rory W, makes great saves but doesn’t inspire confidence, also relegation follows him about.

Would prefer Mark Oxley, out of contract next month at Southend… Born Sheffield ex Rovrum and Dull City wouldn’t be huge wages and a good age and experience to compete for the number 1 jersey.

It will finish bartonscorpion if Slowcoach comes back, the best example of a stay on your line keeper we’ve ever had IMO. Also the only keeper I’ve seen timewasting after 10 minutes of a home game that’s still 0-0. Please let Smudger be wrong.

Was promoted whilst playing with us, Blackpool and Oxford…can’t be all that bad. I’d take him over Watson.

Cass, I am sorry my good friend, but I am already finished after my trial period of 70 years, I just cannot see any point in spending another minute watching the shite that is now being offered at GP.. When Cox gets bladdered after another couple of months of defensive losses, I will review my status, but once anyone packs in something, it is often difficult going back.

Regarding Slocombe being better than Watson BigToe, he would also be better than slow motion Howard, and now Howard has gone, it will give the grass a chance of growing on the goal line!!

I wander how many more of Coxes ex-players will be heading back to GP. that will be Slocombe and the Harrogate ex-mate of Coxes, I wonder if Cliff Byrne and Novak will be interested in further spells at Scunny???.

So, how many on here have:
Not bought a season ticket who usually do?
    Bought one but don’t normally?
Are waiting to see what the signings look like?
Have sworn never to buy one again and are not just blowing off steam?

Have any stopped being supporters altogether?
Are any wondering whether or not they can still be bovvered?
Are there some who promise themselves go on an occasional basis from now on when they were previously regulars?

Are some going to attend as normal?

Am currently dithering Les. Got until Monday to save a few quid on the early bird thing.

I have zero optimism for the season and I think the team will be shite for the fourth season running. But…they are my shite and have been for 50 odd years. What else would I have to moan about.

I bought mine today saving me a extra £38 but if it had been £228 like it normally is for early bird I think I would have jacked in, so I am giving it one more season but if it’s as bad as the last 3 I will stop getting one next season and will just go to games depending on the weather and how we are playing, I am getting too old for 35 mile round trips in cold rainy or snowy weather.

Wouldn’t be entirely unexpected if the Early Bird date was pushed back would it?

I always liked Slocombe, not the most commanding at times but was starting to become more vocal and then got released.

Playing for Notts County at the minute in their bid to get promoted..good experience at 32yrs old with decent amount of games behind him.

I think he’ll be better than Howard and Watson. I nearly didn’t include Watson because quite frankly, most keepers would be an improvement on him.

First time I’ve not bought one in 16 years, not convinced by the Prawn or by this Government’s time frame for letting all fans back in to watch matches. One game at a time for me, it’s my first season at the cheaper 65 rate so I’m not too fussed about paying for games when it suits me, it’s still cheaper then the £360 I’ve been paying for years. Honestly think we will get poor support next season, it’s a culmination of everything from pandemic to poorly run football club by a man who only cares about his own opinion and his business intrests. Our club is slowly fading away.

But not nearly as cheap as the £190 I paid for mine. (One of the few benefits of being aged.)

Slocombe was fantastic in the promotion season under Russ. L2 golden glove and how many penalties did he save?

As for now, he’s local, probably cheap and Cox knows him from his time at Notts County. Plenty of experience and a signing I can get behind.

I have supported the iron for 65 years, lots of sponsorships, advertising etc, have been a box holder since they built the new ground, but no more, as long as this family of business people( I have other names but they may be libellous)are here I will not be spending a penny more, and from what I hear of other peoples intentions I don’t think there will be many people there next season, enough is enough, give us back our ground!!!!!!

Sorry to hear that Brassy, there’s always the away games to go to without Swanny getting your money, see you there, don’t let him beat you.

Me and a friend have had season tickets since 88 but we decided not to renew and to try the odd game but can see us drifting away from it.
The way this club had been run, I would be sacked if I did my job like that but you can’t sack the owner.

Sad to read things like this. Hardly an isolated incident either, people I speak too whom were previous season ticket holders are apathetic towards the club at best. We could genuinely be looking at a 2.5k average at home if we are not careful.
