By the way I don’t know if any of you know this but Karacan was an ever present in Wycombe’s pre season games and did really well…he only missed one game.

Wycombe fans really liked the look of him but the club stalled on offering him a contract so he didn’t hang about.

If that’s anything to go by, there’s a lot of life in him yet…only 31yr old as well. I vaguely remember him as a youngster running the game for reading against Liverpool, long time ago now but still not that old.

Bit of a signing this one I feel.

Well I think he is, so we’ll end it there.

Cordner and Vincent can easily go back. Dales has 3 conference clubs interested in him already. Butroid will surely have a suitor at that level as well, he’s more than capable..just needs games.

Jarvis and Turan are going to be the hard one’s to shift.

Who the feck are going to want either of those ?

Mcgahey and Van Veen are close to returning

Van Veen is nowhere near. Mcgahey back end of this month but Van Veen is back end of Feb. Cox said so last week.

Pugh and some of the younger lads need loaning out or they’ll end up stagnating. Butroid, Dales, Cordner and Vincent we can easily be without.

I can see Hallam moving on as well…good player but he’s forever injured.

If we move Dales, Butroid on and send back Cordner…that may be enough to get Pope. Vincent isn’t coming back either I don’t think, so, that’s another wage saved.

There may just be enough to get Nightingale as well. Ideally we’d need another striker to go with pope but that’s not half bad business.

He should get an experienced manager in till end of season, pay up/send the crap back and give it a go.

But he won’t. He’ll put Wilcox back i/c till the end of the season. The crap will stay. The best we can hope for is a couple of loans.

BRI – what happened to your New Year resolution?

I know he won’t but he should do because he’s the one that’s caused all this with him and his stupid merry band of men recruiting players when they had no idea what they were doing.

The blokes in denial, keeps blaming covid. I’d much rather he came out and blamed himself for being involved in player recruitment.

I said ok, not good and certainly not brilliant. Ok as in, he’d be half decent if he simply played as a foil doing all the donkey work for a more talented player “van veen” or came off the bench once in a while, apart from that though he’s not worth much more.

    I think that’s a pretty fair assessment.

Matt Bailey is truly one of the worst strikers I’ve ever seen for United. I remember we got him on loan from Stockport….absolutely awful.

later Bailey was converted to a CB..tell’s you all you need to know.

Between him, Andy Parton and Tomi Ameobi…enough to give you nightmares.

To be fair in the little we’ve seen he’s been awful.

According to his stats he’s played 83 games in total and scored 11 goals…2 of which were for Weston super Mare.

    Last 25 games he’s scored 2 goals.

    I mean come on, it’s a joke.

I’d even be tempted to stick Loft upfront with Dales…least Dales has got pace and scored a good goal for the reserves.

I’d give Barks a go at CB as well, he can’t be any worse than Cordner….sooner he get’s sent back the better.

Bedeau is shite as well…just he’s less shite than Cordner.

Swann could pay the contracts up of the crap players HE HAND A HAND IN BRINGING IN but he won’t. I think he’s lost interest if truth be told.

This could easily be solved by him if he really had the desire to. Let’s face it, he’s the one to really blame here.

No doubt he could pay the players up…send the crap loan players back and pay up Cox.

    All his doing.

He should get an experienced manager in till end of season, pay up/send the crap back and give it a go..only this time let the manager have a huge say on who comes in.

I don’t think he’ll last much longer, if we stay up this season I think he’ll move on. Swann needs to anyway.

    Fingers crossed he clears off.

Swann somehow gazumping Dennis Hobson at the last minute is the worst thing that could have ever happened to this club.

Criminal overspending when he flirted with the play offs twice and the most unconvincing promotion with Wilcox at the helm isn’t worth what the clubs become now.

    Absolutely shocking.

    in a 2 man front

Very rarely has Cox played with two strikers, always seems to play 1 up top with somebody in the no 10 role.

Loft would be ok as a squad player or as a foil for say Van Veen but to lump all the pressure on him as the primary striker is stupid.

I will however say that miss was most likely one of the worst I’ve seen.

Swann’s caused this by signing Mooney, Jarvis and Turan. This is what happens when your chairman fancies himself as a player recruiter.

If we survive this season he needs to move on. I’m not expecting anybody to come in who’s awash with money but a chairman who actually acts as a chairman would be enough for me.

Swann’s meddling is what’s brought this about.

Yes, I forgot we were awash with capable strikers.

Take Loft out we’ve got Turan who looks to have disappeared “probably for the best”. Mooney has hit 1 goal in national league north.

Jarvis is utter tripe but injured. Olomola and Van Veen both crocked.

I don’t know about you but going all the way through to March with just Loft is utter madness.

I will however agree we need another CM player. Striker has to be more important though surely ?

Least we have Spence, Beestin there. I think Hornshaw would do fine there as well.

Cassidy, before he came to us he made one, yes ONE appearance at Shrewsbury and has come here and scored 4/5 goals now he thinks he’s destined for the premier league.

I’d take Hallam over him. Eisa at least tries but he’s already gone in his own mind, not taking the care to deliver a simple corner time and time again is just beyond careless.

I’d personally draft Dales in as well. I’d involve Eisa in some compacity but probably not starting.

McAtee needs moving on A.S.A.P. I would leave him out all together…he’s a liability.

We have Hallam and Dales so may as well use them.

It wouldn’t at all surprise me if the pair of them end up at Grimsby.

Question is, would the cods be able to stump up the nominal fee’s we’d want for them ?…wages on top too and in these times money is thin on the ground.

Hurst got a song out of Eisa though so he’d most certainly want to go back there.

The way Eisa and McAtee are applying themselves, I’d re-introduce the forgotten man Dales and draft Hallam back in from the cold.

Dales would at least do until we find another LW to replace him. Least Dales puts an honest shift in.

McAtee after the other night needs not just moving out, but, booting out…that was diabolical.

I forgot we even had Dales until I read todays reserve match report.

Old Turan didn’t feature…any look Brigg Town might want him. Jessop I think will be involved in some capacity at the weekend as he came off after 60 mins, as did Rowe.

Dales sounded lively and got 80 mins under his belt, scored and hit the post so he’d most certainly be ready to come on if needed.

Green may have to go upfront and that would free a slot up for Dales.

The squad is substandard and to stay up, in my opinion we need an experienced manager to try and extract the most they can out of the squad.

No doubt expecting Cox to rinse the squad of every single last bit of quality available “which isn’t a lot” is expecting a hell of a lot for a rookie manager.

I suspect Eisa and his agent have a free transfer move already set up behind the scenes.

    Agents do talk !

Eisa thinks he’s a big time charlie and yet can’t even deliver a corner properly. Harry Jessop as you said wouldn’t do any worse than Jarvis.

As you said, I’d be tempted to use Hornshaw as a defensive midfielder and use Pugh more…we have options, just they’re not been used.

I wouldn’t start with Eisa. I’d stick Butroid at LB and move O’Malley up to play on the wing. Eisa clearly wants away, he hasn’t even got the required professionalism to stick a good corner in.

    Absolutely pathetic !

If we continue to play somebody in the no 10 role, play Taylor there for me.

I don’t know why Cox keeps playing Jarvis either. I’d rather stick Green up there..Jarvis clearly isn’t good enough.

Playing with Jarvis and Eisa was like playing with 9 men at times. Eisa needs moving on A.S.A.P.

McAtee thinks he’s better than he is as well. Hallam and Taylor before him. I’d be tempted to give Charlie Barks a go at CB, can’t be any worse than Bedeau.

Contract to end of the season would be not much risk at all in my opinion. We definitely need at least 2 strikers though, ideally 3.

If the chairman is funding the signings then he has every right to stick his nose in

Chairmen should be there to sign off on deals in the background, not there to decide on footballing matters and making a decision not to go with a scout due to thinking that they know better.

This is what has caused all this crap. Cox signing Hippolyte just goes to show if he had a war chest who the feck he’d be signing.

Then to top it off we signed a relation of Swann for the scouting.

J charles, who cares. I think you’re missing the main point here.

Swann did say he got rid of Turnbull because he was using other sources for players, obviously this fella was one of them.

This is what you get when you have a chairman who sticks his nose in to areas of the club he shouldn’t be venturing in.

Now we’re stuck with utter crap.

This supposed clued up transfer committee signed 4 strikers, 3 of them probably not fit enough to grace non league and one in Loft who’s average.

Cordner and Vincent are both crap. Taylor was a pointless signing to start with.

Then you have Cox who signed probably the worst player I’ve witnessed since Tomi Ameobi.

    Step forward Mr Hippolyte.

This is why scouting systems are there in the first place, to safeguard against this circus.

Only upside is Taylor, Cordner and Vincent could easily be sent back.

Butroid ,Hallam and Olomola are soon to be out of contract so they may be fairly easy to shift you would have thought.

Answers on a postcard how we shift on Jarvis, Turan and Hippolyte who are all on 2yr contracts.

Yeovil may come back for Hippolyte on loan but who the feck are going to go near Turan and Jarvis ?

Just read that he left Fleetwood due to his discipline and behaviour…no thank you, he’s a wrong-un.

Ishmael Miller 33yr old on a free transfer ?
    Paul Taylor
    Simeon Jackson
Chris O’Grady 34 yr old Target man for Loft to learn from till end of the season ?

That’s obviously bargain basement territory. This isn’t a great league and an old wise head upfront maybe what we could do with to help us at times.
