As I recollect, at the forum Hilton said, with all the financial investment available for a new ground, it will cost less than renovating GP.
I saw that on twitter last night. Council are well and truly on board by all accounts and theirs various government funding schemes available to tap into.
Makes sense if we can build a new ground which will cost less than renovating GP.
Won’t be to long before Hilton and scunny are locked out of Gp imo.
Not at least for this season as he’s seemingly found a loophole and is leasing out to himself. Hilton also said he was willing to pay Swann 200k a month for us to use it so it’s maybe next season where we are to move somewhere else.
Hilton’s hoping to have the leasing contract extended to 24 months and not just the 12.
Shut up Apathetic. Give the man chance to make a difference. Least Hilton’s got the council on board and has a close working relationship with them after Swann pissed them all off.
That alone improves the chances of it all being built.
All the shit on here trying to make out Hilton was an international criminal mastermind and we were under a transfer embargo.
I’ll reserve judgement on Hilton and ignore the lunatics for the time being.

The club kitchener have acquired 3 plots of land, the two we know about on glebe and warren RD are for a new ground and accompanying car park and the 3rd site which is currently undisclosed is for the training facility.
We are playing at GP this season and the supposed new ground will take two years to build.

Pele did he disclose how he’s going to fund it ?.
Also did he say what he’s doing with all 3 sites that he’s acquired ?
Shame I have to ask. Strange information blackout from the forum, it’s as if the person who posts on the official scunny account has been told not to give any updates.
Ground and car park on two we know about.
Training ground in the 3rd.
New kit manufacture=kelmeThink they made Real Madrid kits in the 90s
He’s been f**ked around a hell of a lot by Swann over the ground and decided enough is enough of dealing with him
Anything regarding the funding of ground, car park and training facility ?. I’ve seen on twitter the council are on board so maybe they will be paying an amount towards it.
I was thinking more along the lines of York City with their community shared stadium leisure complex, serves the community with more than just football.

No idea. Only people who will know are those who are at the forum. Especially with the 3rd site which we also got our hands on, nobody even knew about that until Ollie Turner announced it.
I know this may seem away with the fairies but what if Hilton had bought the club from swann “fully this time” and has decided to sell it all off, all land included and will put that money towards a new ground and training facility ?
It wasn’t issued on behalf of Hilton. All Elliot did was answer a question posed to him by a fan on twitter.
Is there going to be coverage of this via twitter or the official website ?
You’re saying that Ferrite but then again you’d moan if we signed cheap rubbish which you hadn’t heard of. You would have claimed we weren’t serious about making it straight back to the national league. I don’t think the club can win here.
What’s going on now is just what we need. Good players coming in early and have them all bed in. All too often we’ve had to scrabble around for players last minute when they haven’t been match fit and we’ve been on the back foot right from the off.
This is a refreshing change.

or Foster is off elsewhere?
Jimmy dean when asked about Foster a while ago said clubs were watching him and came across as he thought he was going. I expect something to happen there.
Surely for us to have plaques on these sites stating we’ve acquired the land , they are telling people exactly that, Hilton has purchased both sites.
According to Simon Elliot he was told that the sites are not to be used as training grounds so who knows what’s going on ?
By law there is no way on planet earth plaques would be up at both sites if Hilton hadn’t agreed a deal for both plots ?
We can’t surely have signs up if they have not actually been acquired. That’s illegal, surely ?
Strange thing is that if one of those plots weren’t bought for us as a training ground…what the hell were they bought for ?. If this is indeed legit you can imagine one as a plot for a ground but what the hell would the other be for ?
May 5, 2023 at 9:59 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261684Even more unbelievable if that reported £1500 p.w. was right. Surely OTT for NLN.
WG – are you sure it wasn’t £150?That was said by the Yeovil chairman but he then a day later deleted the tweet. Ask SST he read it himself. I don’t see why he would lie because Yeovil were in for Rance too.

May 4, 2023 at 8:29 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261623Foster will end up going. I can’t see Butterfield staying either to be honest. Wilson I can understand because if we offer him a contract don’t we get a fee if a team comes in for him ?
Fecking Dean Rance, came injured and hardly played for the last team he was at due to injuries and yet he’s staying. I don’t understand that at all.

I’ve seen one of their podcasts and it’s all very tongue in cheek with a large dose of lad banter, each to their own. I can’t see the older iron fans taking to it that well to be fair for a certain demographic it will be enjoyed.
I found a lot of what they said was nothingness and actually very little about actual football. Completely different approach to the bru version. As lincsirons said above it’s a more relaxed approach and as is very much like 4 blokes being down at the pub.
They both have their place.
Only one I really watch is Jon Parkin’s under the cosh podcast. Some of The stories on there are absolute belters. Non iron related but is certainly interesting to say the least.

May 3, 2023 at 9:28 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261564Mussy nails every keeper to his line
Not true. I’ve seen Foster come off his line once or twice. Progress is progress !
Dean didn’t seem confident in Foster staying when asked about him a few weeks ago. Is Foster out of contract ?
Poulter will have a few suitors I would have imagined. The hat trick the other day would have only rubber stamped Barnsley’s interest.
Even better than I thought !
After listening to Dean the other week it sounded like he has a fair few suitors and didn’t sound confident in him staying. We shall see !
Poulter is being watched by a few teams as well from what I’ve read. Scored 24 goals this season in 30 odd games.
May 2, 2023 at 9:39 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261517Slocombe definitely improved. Apart from that though we’ve signed experienced keepers and most have been shite. Foster has improved to be fair to him, he’s still dodgy at times but that’s to be expected at his age.
Rory Watson was Rory Watson, not entirely sure he would have improved much despite who was training him.
The best keeper we’ve had of recent times has been O’hara on loan which tells it’s own story.
Margetts. Champions with Stamford and divisions top scorer.
Must have finally put the injuries behind him. Poor sod was another Hallam, every time he kicked a ball he seemed to pull or tear something.
I know it’s only lower league but his scoring record is impressive.
2019–2021 Frickley Athletic 29 (26)
2021–2022 Belper Town 25 (18)
2022–2023 Stamford 10 (11)Only 29yr old. I thought he’d be older than that !
Are we not offering any of the U18s ‘pro’ contracts this season?
Poulter, Roberton, Sellers flemming and Wallace have been offered deals. That was announced 3 weeks ago and according to an article I read earlier regarding the youths win today, there has been 5 contracts offered in total from that year group. I don’t know who the 5th one is though.
From said article….
“It’s never nice that the squad doesn’t stay together, but the second years move on and this is football. To get five professional deals offered out of the second years is absolutely brilliant”
May 2, 2023 at 9:20 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261511Telling you now a section of those fans are up to no good. Musselwhite in a supposed keeper coaching nightmare, despite him being vastly experienced and was a top keeper himself and then you get this rumour.
I bet Musselwhite had Foster wearing a jockstrap after forgetting he was playing football and not cricket.
Unbelievable Jeff !
It doesn’t appear those burner accounts on twitter are even Scunny fan, it’s people who have it out for Hilton or who are simply causing trouble for their own enjoyment.
The accounts I’d like to bet are either a select few Grimsby fans up to no good or Bury fans who want to get him back for the collapsed take over bid.
May 1, 2023 at 1:49 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261438I can’t see Butterfield staying anyway. Dean the other day said he was targeting people who had good experience that basically weren’t passed it, as he passed comment on us having “too many players like that” at the club and he’s to go down a different route.
I read 2 or 3 weeks back that Rance who was not only signed injured was also on £1,500k a week. That comment was made by Yeovil’s chairman on twitter who were also in for him.
Butterfield would be 3 or levels above the other players at this level but as you say les, I bet he’s on a fair wedge and I honestly can’t see his game lending it’s self to that level of football.
I don’t think he’ll stay anyway in all fairness. If we’re honest Butterfield really is a league 2 player and could quiet easily play at lg 1 level. I’d be surprised if he didn’t have football league offers.
I expect Butterfield, Beestin, Rance and Hallam to all go. Daniel and Feeney you can put in the same bracket really, we could do with a clean sweep.
Shields can go as well for me…he’s got good ability but is far too patchy which is probably why we got him on a free from Barnet in the first place.

April 30, 2023 at 10:00 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261385Beestin has picked up injury after injury and even before his spate of injuries he was declining. Only reason I’d keep O’Malley is because he’s got a good enough quality left foot and is versatile which we’ll need for next season.
I will however say I don’t think he’s a full back but having utility players with good enough ability who can cover 3 or 4 positions can’t be so easily dismissed.
I thought he did pretty well in CM under Nelson when we were hit with injuries. I don’t think Dean rates him anyway so don’t think he’ll be staying around regardless of what I think.

April 30, 2023 at 9:11 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261383It’s already been announced what we’re doing to some extent.
Pugh has already been offered a new deal
Shrimpton has had his additional year activated on his contract
Nat Wallace, Josh Robertson, Sellers-flemming and Poulter have been offered deals and were said to be close to signing a few weeks backElliot, Carver, Boyce, Ogle, Butterfield and Chapman are under contract for next season
Foster is said to have suitors and sounded like to me that Dean is expecting him to go. Out of the others I would keep Sembie Ferris, Richards Everton, Gallimore, Moore-Billam and maybe O’Malley and all the others can piss off, including Rance who’s not only a sick note but utter shit.
Going slightly off topic but why did Dean play Leake when he’s due to go back to Hull City ?. I would have thought it would have made more sense to start O’Malley.
I didn’t really get that personally.

I know SST tries his best but to say the quality control on this forum is lax is an understatement. I would ban the whole lot if it was up to me get this back to how it was, an actual forum you could actually enjoy without certain people trying their hardest to ruin it for everybody else.
1 user thanked author for this post.
I don’t know who the hell is behind this but they seriously need to get a grip. This forum for the past month or so has been somewhat ruined by the same anti Hilton bullshit.
Enough is enough now. This maximus character for instance needs banning. No doubt he/it finds it funny but he’s just spoiling everybody else’s time on here with the same bullshit day in day out.
I just wish it would all stop.
