Michelle said all the rest of the debts owed have 3 more payments left, so going by that we will in deed be out of most, if not all of the debts.
That’s not quite what I heard. I heard her say we still owe £300k and that some of them are being managed, like the electricity bill.
I recall her saying she had a little stack of bill papers left on the desk to work though and they have 3 payments left. There will indeed be some left over though somewhere down the line, but let’s not split hairs.
I did say we would be out of most of the debts.
Still quite impressive, is it not ?
Butler said during the interview that he was looking for a squad of under 20.
Somebody needs to tell Butler that a match day squad will be 18. Having a playing squad of under 20, including those named above with regular injury issues, just isn’t workable.
That’s what I was thinking. If all those do sign then 1 of the 2 players coming in will be a GK. You have to imagine one will be a striker to go with Elliot and Whitehall which leaves us stretched out wide and at LB. Only 2 natural wingers will be Law and Roberts who both have questionable history with injuries.
Also with all the players being offered deals, options taken up and those who are still under contract would leave us with five CM players in Clunan, Scales, Shrimpton, Butterfield and Beestin. This is why I thought we would play a similar system to Jimmy.
I suppose Scales could be played at RW which would make sense, but not comfortable going into a new season with 2 natural crock wingers. When I heard Butler say he was looking for a squad under 20 players I nearly fell off my chair.

Still can’t quite believe it.
Butler said during the interview that he was looking for a squad of under 20. If all the players re-sign who have been offered contracts along with the one’s who have options taken up and those who are already under contract, we only have space for additional two players.
Which hints at the same or similar system as we had under Jimmy. I can’t see 4/4/2 with those wide options.
Most*
THe odd surprise, DS-F being the main one for me. Let’s hope a good percentage of those offered contracts can be agreed.
Ferris surprised me, but more of all was Pugh. Pugh probably has his heart set on going back to Hereford.
Agree 100%. I like football under Nelson and considering what little we had we played attractive, attacking football. As you said though, all the progress was pished away when Jimmy came.
This list is taking it’s time !

Butterfield won’t play beyond this season, he’s hinted so already. Jimmy suggested it earlier in the season about having talks with him. I’m sure Butler said he was looking for a squad of 21 players when he was signed during an interview on Hullberside.
I don’t know the ins and outs regarding the various responsibilities of manager, asst manager and head coach but, in our current situation, couldn’t two people cover those jobs?
You may be right. Hayes and Butler may be enough.
Trust you to bring that up now.
Paul Hayes as assistant and Butterfield signed on as head coach would be interesting. Butterfield did say he was looking to retire beyond this season and wanted to get into coaching/management.
Should we be looking at the guys from Warrington & South Shields? You’d think they ought to fall within our reduced playing budget.
I doubt we’d get Blackett, didn’t he score close to 30 goals ?. We may have more chance with Ricketts. I’d go for Connor Hall he scored 9 goals for Brackley while on loan from Solihull Moors. Good age at 26yrs of age and think he’s out of contract come end of the season.
If we could get Blackett I’d be over the moon though. I remember him being as fast as hell. Playing style, he’s like a pound shop Jamie Vardy.
Shrimpton was one of the key players for Spennymoor who we’re at one point the most inform team in the league and Pugh was playing brilliantly for Hereford who were at the time pushing for a play off.
No idea where the midtable part comes from, but nevertheless they’re more than good enough.

“what is with people’s obsession with Nelson lol”.
Must be his 23% games won record.
Michelle favours continuity. Nelson knows the club, including Butler and did well last time with what little he had. Not beyond the realms of possibility as we’ve just signed Butler as manager.
and player development
Poulter might get a sniff now. Too good of a finisher not to get a chance.
Butler says we’re going to be the fittest side in the league so players such as Pugh and Shrimpton could be back in favour.
Shrimpton and Pugh both need to be retained as they’ve proven they can easily perform at this level, won’t be on too much and will do everything they can for the club.
what is with people’s obsession with Nelson lol.
Where the average attendance is 1,000, 700k will be more than competitive
Michelle certainly favours continuity and people who have been here previously. Nelson did well last time and knows the club. The suggestion isn’t crazy by any means. Butterfield could quite easily become assistant.
I have a funny feeling Butterfield will become first team coach, taking Butler’s previous role. The assistant will be the important choice. Michael Nelson back as no 2 ?
Harness seems to like continuity at the club with past appointments either been at the club previously or are from the area. I wonder if she wants Nelson as boss with Butler as assistant with Butterfield adding to the mix signing on as a coach ?
I liked Nelson last time he was here and with Butler and Butterfield aiding him, it could very well work.
I keep reading Brian Laws, but can’t be him, surely ?

Well, yes, it hasn’t been 18 months (18 months was what was reported at the time) exactly yet since Jan 2023, so any remaining time will have to be allocated for. Still better than giving another year or more deal then having to pay out because fans have turned by September.
I could have sworn I read he was on an 18 month contract so appears we’ve paid the last 4 months of their contracts up.
I think that contracted for next season are:-
Whitehall, Kelly, Fitzsimons, Kouogan, Roberts and Law.Kelly will probably have something already lined up. The one that worries me is Law, another year on his contract and spends 80% of the season out injured. I hope a club is stupid enough to take a chance on him on a free transfer.
Roberts if to be believed is on a fortune for a club at this level, but clubs will surely be interested in him. I think Roberts is the biggest earner !
Would Fitzsimons be that big of a loss ?
Whitehall sold for a fee along with Fitzsimons and Roberts ?
We’ll have to replace Muzzy with another GK coach and Plummer works closely with Jimmy.
There’s going to be some disappointed people on here, myself included.
See you next season Jimmy.Sound bloody ominous SNOT ..
As spouted a few weeks ago by Mr Elliot the board room tea boy..
“hes goin no where”
Only rumours from twitter, but I read he was being kept on a few days ago. I suspect he’ll get another year contract and get one last chance as a result of having to deal with the happenings of last season.
Clunnan regressed the most for me, around Christmas time his form dropped off a cliff and never really regained any of it. Most improved is Sembie Ferris, started off shaky, but well and truly proved his worth. The key sent out on loan have having much needed game time.

As mentioned above, £100,000 in bonuses if promoted ?. Absolutely crazy from Hilton. Hoping to be clear of debt before next season starts is a remarkable turnaround. Pity we will probably have Jimmy at the helm with a drastically cheaper squad. That part doesn’t fill me with joy.

I wouldn’t want Crosby as he’ll want a high wage and won’t really know a lot about this level. Greening is a good shout, Culverhouse “if Boston don’t gain promotion”. My top pick though would be Billy Heath who’s currently managing Alfreton.
I’d be happy with any of those 3.
Worryingly According to twitter rumours are Dean has signed an extension. Fucking hope not !

Has it been a learning curve for JD?
No. He stood on the side lines and wasn’t proactive and positive enough to even attempt to turn it around. Started right from the moment he picked the team by starting Beestin on the left in a bid to be more solid despite us being the home team and having a quality winger in Sembie Ferris.
The same things happened on Saturday as they have happened all season. Dean hasn’t learnt anything, I suspect Jimmy is Jimmy and he just isn’t good enough.
JD will stay. Simon Elliott said so, that they have extended the contract.
I hope that isn’t the case with Dean being resigned.
In regards to the budget Lesgeo, pretty sure michelle said a while back that the budget would need to be cut by around 40%. That would be cut by offloading Kelly who’ll be on a fair wedge despite not playing many games, Evans, Roberts and possibly Whitehall.
All will be on substantial money for this level.
The HMS p**s the league stuff was rather irritating. Hopefully we’ll have less of that now.
If we had a half decent manager we would have dicked this league. Our fringe players who couldn’t get a sniff here dominated elsewhere, but Dean clearly never got the best out of them.
