Anyway, Chadwick looks a good signing.
Up The Iron !Fitz – Most clean sheets in the lowest league, it’s great but I guarantee if Campbell keeps as many clean sheets but drops 6 clangers it’s the clangers we’ll hear about on here and the clean sheets will be “it’s a team effort “. People are panicking way too early.
If Campbell can’t hack it he will be replaced, whether that’s before or during the season he won’t get any mercy in football- he knows that, Butler knows that, Muzzy knows it, the board knows, I don’t know why we can’t support him fully to try and make it.

It’s the easiest thing in the world now to say get an experienced keeper. If he isn’t good enough you can say “I told you so” and if he is good enough you can say “Butler was lucky, he turned out ok”.
I’m not going to write him off based on trophy matches and friendlies, has he ever played behind the same defence in any game for us ? It’s all makeshift and trialists every time.
Give the lad a chance and some support.1 user thanked author for this post.
Ah, I didn’t realise that. Not surprised judging from his performances last season.
Maybe Butler could convince The Posh to step him up one league at a time. What about trying to get Oliver Rose back on loan from Peterborough ?
….and, Jean Belehouan .
Pleased to hear this, and definitely the right thing to do, particularly considering how it happened and the mitigating factors.
A few months back on here, someone shot me down in flames when I suggested it’d be good if the Club did the right thing by Barrows, bearing in mind that, essentially, the state of the pitch caused the injury.
I was also criticised on here for suggesting an opinion that the pitch was a major factor in Barrow’s injury.
The very least the club can do is support him in the way they are.June 2, 2025 at 9:52 am in reply to: Liz Truss joins thug who battered OAP to launch whiskey at Glanford Park #305320Anybody in charge, in their right mind, who heard Zanetti’s slurred garbage on the tannoy at half time in the Chester league game would have binned him on the spot (literally the centre spot). They didn’t and here we are.
Might not have been as simple as that given how far down the line of planning they were (contracts, promotion, agreements etc)
I get that but, after all the pre match stuff from the club telling fans not to do anything that might cause trouble, they invite someone to have the microphone who promptly starts chanting “F off Chester” after his initial incoherent nonsense fizzled out. Did they need to see any more ? I didn’t.

My guesses from the list are : Ross Barrows, Alfie Beestin, Michael Kelly, Joe Starbuck and Andrew Boyce will stay.
Michael Clunan, I think will stay – he gave up part time to join us and at his age I think he’s doing it more for his football career than money and I think he’ll want to play in the NL.
Ross Fitzsimons, seem to be enough rumours that he will be going elsewhere.
Maxim Kouogun, I’m not sure, it wouldn’t surprise me if he got a better offer elsewhere.
Callum Roberts, and Danny Whitehall – I don’t think we’ll be matching Hilton’s fantasy contract levels with them. I really hope they stay but my guess is they will go.
Unbelievable Jeff, unless you’re a Darlington fan in which case it is totally expected.
I loved the “Roberts again….” chant when he got the morons back over the wall near the end.
There’s going to be some players that, however much they’d like to stay, could very well be offered better terms elsewhere – I’m thinking Whitehall and Roberts.
As professional footballers, their heads or their agents heads will ultimately rule over their hearts.Well done Andy, mission accomplished. Thank F**k.
According to their website, Chester have been allocated 1500 tickets and are also doing a ST holders first for a couple of days.
Post mortem on ABs management and the team already done on other threads unfortunately.
Good luck to Andy and the team, hope everyone has an enjoyable day. Up The Iron

Not a bad effort Dave, completely omitted the club being evicted from Glanford Park and then squatting there. He managed to make defrauding a council of £68k sound like a parking ticket. It’s ok though he didn’t walk into a bank with a sawn off shotgun or do anything to kids.
Players never missed a payment apart from the final month, better not mention Taft then, and even that final month is ok because he told Michelle about it, but no mention of the £70+k raised by fans to help pay it after he pulled the plug.
The 1899 money is just £72k that came and went as part of the £1 million he apparently lost overall, cry me a river.2 users thanked author for this post.
I believe he was last seen wandering around Strasbourg shouting “Liam, Liam where are you ?”

The National League take a percentage, they call it a levy, which they will take from the net proceeds of the game after all expenses for both clubs (and including the travel and hotel costs for National League board members and officers who attend the match). The remaining proceeds are split 50% each to the 2 clubs.
I tried to find out what percentage they take last season but couldn’t find any info other than it’s agreed with all clubs at the start of the season. They will have taken a lot of money into the bank account, but by the time it has been shared out with the opposition, National League and their dignitaries it won’t be a massive windfall for the club unfortunately.
At least it means a good level of support at the match.Well done Brackley, all the best for next season.
Far from it, I thought you of all people would see the humour. Maybe Bru is not for me
And why would awaywego want a signed Cam Wilson shirt, detest the guy he thought he could play at a bigger and better club, well just look where he is now.
All the clamourings on here for him to be played, why’s he out on loan, well we’ve seen the answer he flattered to deceive.
Would much rather have Pat’s pulled pork, stuffing, apple sauce and gravy bap yummy. And where is he now ? Matlock Town, one of Hilton’s big signings, named to the fans as a Hilton loyalist when this vote debacle started.
Surely a genius career move by Wilson if your thinking on Hilton is to be believed ?Signed match worn Cam Wilson Matlock Town shirt on its way to Awaywego, with love from Pats Burgers.
Oh dear, think you have summed it brilliantly, your club has thrown automatic promotion away, things look decidedly dodgy in every respect, and this forum is totally obsessed with Dave Hiltons Matlock takeover?…. your forum is supposed to be about the Iron, and hopefully to put constructive criticism to help the club, you desperately need to win the play offs, concentrate on that!… your hatred for Dave Hilton seems to be important…. crazy or what?
If you didn’t keep rearing your head on here talking shite, there’d be one page of this topic with half a dozen posts to help mtfcfan, and Awaywego disagreeing.
There’s plenty of threads discussing Scunthorpes promotion attempt, the board, Butler, players etc.Just beat Hereford lads, be in the lead at halftime and watch Kiddie and Brackley bottle it.
Mtfc fan – After Hilton presents you all with that email and a few days to decide and 5 minutes on google and here tells you his past and the car crash at Scunthorpe- Just vote option B.
Take the donation (where did that amount come from… ?) and let him walk.
I bet he wouldn’t actually walk off if you do vote him out anyway he’ll just ramp up the pressure.
You have been warned. Good luck and best wishes to everyone at Matlock Town fc.Mtfc fan, is it Hilton that is the private investor ?
If so don’t do it.Nah, can’t risk Brackley surprisingly slipping up and missing the chance to grab 2nd. An opportunity for Butler and the boys to work on performing away too. Looks like we’ll need it
And if Kidderminster, less surprisingly, also slip up against Southport we can still finish champions.
What on Earth brought on this Pat attack best summed up as a tirade of childishness.
I have zero thoughts on Hilton\,Pat or Ikeston but feel for Matlock FC , sad way to get relegated.
What brought this on is that Hilton is clearly keeping a close eye on what is posted on this forum. Within a couple of hours of his name and Matlock being mentioned his stooge troll Patrick0811 turns up talking nonsense to wind people up.
Going back to Pele’s original post, I’m sorry for Matlock getting relegated over an admin error but just like us trying to get promoted it’s the results over the the whole season that do the damage. Getting deducted 3 points in the last week is the final nail but the fact they are down there on the edge of relegation in the first place is what’s done them.
All the best to the Matlock fans. -
