It is about the stadium and the land. Anything to do with the football club – tax, wages etc won’t be relevant. Swann somehow put GP into the ownership of a separate company, unchallenged at the time, so that part is over.

I’ve tried very hard to deal with this in exactly the same way as you Samways. Unfortunately they are practically no official statements about what is going on though. The owner, under his previous name, is communicating with a Facebook group that seems to allow no questioning or dissent whatsoever.
Any serious questions about what is happening on here are met with an appearance by Patrick from Ilkeston.
I get your point but it is burying your head in the sand.
I don’t see any problem in Sufcnot, IB or iron insider highlighting any possible issues. Forcing them away, which I’m sure would delight DH, is not the answer.

I don’t know IB but Maxwell Cohen are or were involved with the Bridge Inn at Cotmanhay and wasn’t there a closed restaurant on the A52 at Elton which has been converted to flats which was something to do with one of Hilton’s companies ?

Look at how Swann engineered seperating the ground from the club, and getting us to this situation. Bit by bit, “the club is protected”, “99 year lease”, “blah blah blah” then relegation, winding up order, sale of sufc separately to Hilton.
The issue for Swann now is that GP has been registered as an asset of community value, it seems to me that means as long as that is the case it can only be sold as a sports stadium which pretty much limits the interested parties to sufc. Therefore he now needs to sell it to sufc or create a situation where the asset of community value doesn’t stand anymore or he can argue that it is no longer relevant.
What worries me is that he will get a court order to repossess GP, Hilton then fires up his contingency ground share and new ground plans (whether the new stadium is achievable or not is irrelevant). Swann then goes to court for removal of the asset of community value saying sufc haven’t bought the ground as offered to them, they are now ground sharing and planning to build a new stadium.1 user thanked author for this post.
I don’t know, is it his job? They deal with facts and previous case law. Whether the judge likes football or their arthritis is playing up on the day won’t come into it. If there is some issue that Hilton doesn’t like I think the judge will say “don’t buy it then”.

Anyone got the full article from the Nation league newspaper it doesn’t show it in full missing the bit about the ground being a community asset him not wanting it and the iron trust wavering their right to buy. Will try and buy one if not.
I’ve spoken to someone who has read the article and they explained it to me that DH says Swann hasn’t dealt with asset of community value side of things properly and a way to get around that would be for the trust to waive their claim to it being such an asset.
I could have understood him wrong with Chinese whispers etc but that’s how he read the wording and explained it to me.

Good point Sufc_not_on_tour, we are still deeply in the excrement.
I’m glad Patrick looked after Awaywego and MK and he’s obviously keen to extend hospitality at GP at some future game and clearly has authority from DH to make such kind gestures. With everything that has happened the 2 clubs and their respective fans should have a good relationship, and friendly links.
Whatever anyone may think about IB and his, or her, motives it is apparent that Patrick and one or two others would like to see the back of IB and that worries me as much as anything.2 users thanked author for this post.
