The “new” Brian Laws.
A bit lacking with the Barnet mind
My memory is not what it used to be but my recollection from the shareholder`s meeting was that Swann would clear the football league loan if he felt it was necessary.Am i mistaken?
Was that Peter’s promise 😂…. I’m here all week

BadAppl??!
Thought once again he came across well, thanks for sharing the link.
Reminded me of a lancastrian version of Sam allardyce whilst sounding like Peter Kaye… Bring back Gerry…. Gerry
BPG has old big hair on speed dial… 14/1 shot.

Just been reminiscing and looking on the old site, so many reminders of the good times and also wasn’t swamped with adverts and was lightenimg speed.
I was trying to find who it was that was always banging on about Keith Hill and how we should have him as manager, anyone going to own up, you might still get your wish?Fansy?
Oh heck
Neil Cox’s barmy army….
Cox In….
What’s the odds on promotion?
Lol 😊
Where is Bill Punton’s ghost when you need him ?
Nice thread title btw.
Awful being tonked at home.. awful
Interesting points Leighton, I thought this piece read a little bit like Jordan Petersen.
Scary when you list those clubs all similar size to Scunthorpe really, could easily be us down there never to return.

Definitely concentrating on a James Bond bar and 5 star hotel in Blackpool – because all of that makes business sense
Next plan he has is a Fortnum and Mason on the Desert Rat site
Made me chuckle that ☺️
Thought Jerry had got his old job back there… Go Jerry go
This thread has gone down the toilet 😂.
In all honesty it would be good if we had some productive relationships with higher level clubs and surely that’s one of the more significant reasons we have NC in charge as he’s played at a high level, rather than someone who has spent their career in the lower leagues moving around on frees to whichever team is paying the biggest money. That’s not sustainable for this club whatever your feelings regarding signings or ownership.

Andy Carroll is the wrong side of 30, on a free and injury prone.
The only recruitment we’re seeing at Scunthorpe is for matchday catering and bar staff. If next season goes as I fear, we won’t need to recruit many of those as the ground will be back to attendance levels last seen in 1985/86 season.
Ah Wealdstone.. the raider will be shouting “you got no ground”

Always thought Nicky Maynard was good but he’s been part of a Mansfield team who’s recruitment policy matched ours from a few years ago, old pro’s for free but on high wages earning their last 2 years of pro contract… Whilst there’s a benefit to having an experienced spine of the team we need to go back to what we used to be good at, signing hungry young players with the right attitude to progress and make money from.
Would prefer Mark Oxley, out of contract next month at Southend… Born Sheffield ex Rovrum and Dull City wouldn’t be huge wages and a good age and experience to compete for the number 1 jersey.

April 24, 2021 at 11:46 pm in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #205411And before you all jump on the ‘who would do better’ line frankly anyone with some semblance of organisation and an ability to instil belief in the squad would do.
Raz Clayton, Andy Crosby, Pete Daniels, Mark Jackson, Paul Tisdale (Des Comerford would be happy).

And doesn’t Joey look like a young David Moyes ?!
I would have liked to have seen Joey Dawson and some of the young lads SanFran knows well. I understand you cannot throw 5 into the first 11 but if attitudes stink amongst the senior pros then time to throw 2 in to shake things up a bit.

Is it over the line and confirmed yet?
OP – Is your title a parody ?!
If ‘taking the knee’ continues in the long term won’t it have a detrimental effect on the already delicate knee joints, which are a common cause of long term injuries in football players?
Keep going Bartonscorpion, at 80 you’ve still got plenty of sting left.
Football at the lower level is all about taking the bad times with the good.
However, it would be nice when things return to normal if you could rock up to the ground and park in a blue badge space without sitting around waiting needlessly, that should be something the club can solve easily at little or no cost to them but a significant difference to you.
Interesting to read about the goalkeeping situation, makes me wonder if opposition scouts see this and other teams set up to flood the box with crosses.
Hope Beestin gets a run.
Onariase looks solid at this level.
I’d like to see Olomola get a run but not sure KVV and him would be a good pairing.
Very sad news, a gentleman of football and a proud ex player of our club. He has passed at a young age.
It does make you wonder about how long retired professional footballers live, how does it compare with other vocations or sports professionals in particular?
RIP.
Backed 100 %.
I agree we shouldn’t get hung up on ex players or has beens, but Cox is different.
Time to be United.
