I think he’s woken up with a sore head and lots of regret after last night’s tirade.

You do yourself absolutely no favours (not aimed at NI, if this above message gets deleted).

He will just say that you will look like fools when it all comes out. If he is a Scunny fan he will also say switching allegiance is not easy.

I will say that the worries mentioned by II have been corroborated to me by others (and if II is ITK, he can go anonymously to the press, surely. Even as weakened as they are, this would surely be reported on), so I am not dismissing of such, but can understand why others won’t agree and after a win people want positivity. On that, things are good.

    Isn’t that the point Siderite?

The club is on a path to recovery after years of neglect and mismanagement from the previous regime. It’s quite obvious not everything is rosy but it’s going to take time to fix a lot of this.

Rumours are posted to spread negativity which we‘ve had enough of over the last few years. I will judge the club based on facts and official statements (either from the club or genuine sources).

I’ve not seen him shirk a question on that FB group, so why not ask him there?

Open your eyes the club is gone

To be fair, people aren’t going to believe the club is gone while we have been playing games. I am aware of comments of issues, think they have merit, but they could be mistaken or any issues could be resolved. I have scepticisms of Hilton, so I am not saying this to defend or celebrate him.

Someone did state that you could go to the local news about this. Have you thought about doing so, if you are sure the club is dead and we just don’t know about it?

    I know but your miserable

Not as miserable as someone sniping at others like this, Jerry. I am perfectly happy and those who know me can tell that. So your barbed comments are wasted.

Being sceptical of Hilton does not equal not being happy about a win for the team, but I realise that might be a bit beyond you. Though I am pleased to see how being a ‘positive fan’ means just sniping at others and not actually saying anything positive about the result.

First away win on a Saturday since November 2020. As fromafar says, a win is a win. Just got to hope that we improve.

Hopefully the rain holds off for the hardy Iron in an open away end, where we can hopefully enjoy 3 points.

If this is in referenceto Swann’s mess, I will say that a new owner still has responsibility and I don’t think it’s all to do with Swann. Obviously people have different opinions on what there is to worry about, and that’s fine. There is nothing official out, but it is known that wages have not been professionally managed and I am aware of the ground limitations issue (from sources ai trust). Frankly, I don’t trust Hilton that much so asking him a question won’t yield the answers, I believe. I also don’t think Swann’s legacy is what’s behind some of the issues.

One day people will remember what supporting a football team actually means.

Are you suggesting that asking questions is somehow not supporting the team?
If you are, you need help.

After the mess Swann left us in, following years of overspending, unfulfilled promises and nonsense I am surprised the lesson is question less or you want the club to fail. If we’d questioned Swann more, it may have led to more accountability at least.

It is, but from what I have been told by truistworthy sources I think it has merit. Obviously I realise others will be sceptical, and I accept that, but I trust those who have given me information.

The club announced regarding director’s boxes then. I don’t think the current situation being discussed or mentioned has anything to do with that.

Frankly, with this and the wages being repeatedly late I am becoming more and more convinced that he doesn’t have the money for the ground and the rest of the issues surrounding it are mostly excuses.

I think people were expecting the club to announce what was decided upon following the SAG.

    Ironmageddon postponed again then?

It may be. I think people were jumping the gun in assuming there would be a statement based on what the issue is. I have spoken to enough people to believe there is something in it.

Frankly, the local news needs to be a lot more proactive in unearthing these things here, but maybe we’re too low down now for them to care. That said, there are rumours of injunctions against the BBC and/or The Athletic, so this might not be possible (if true)!

And to be fair I doubt whether SAG would drip feed what improvements they needed doing, and Scunny told us about the director box one on the 21st of July. The club don’t need to quell rumors they’d never have the time, scunny give more info out than most if not all non lge clubs.

I didn’t say the SAG should drip feed, nor that the club should quash unfounded rumours. However, a fortnight isn’t beyond an unexpected turnaround for a report of this nature.

Definitely tripe about the capacity, 13/14 days since the SAG inspection and it’s only come out yesterday about the capacity really, and like I said we’ve already played a game since then with more than 2000 there. The SAG inspection is a council inspection all councils have to do them if they have stadia most like us will have minor infringements and even then if they have clubs have time to rectify them, the iron trust chairman is a councilor surely Tony would have said something, the club can get stewards whenever needed, they did last year surely everyone saw them they where mainly afro Caribbean looking from Leeds, must have been at least 50 of them.

To be fair, I doubt the SAG would make a decision straight away, based on their findings. Barnsley have been hit by it only today, but I am sure their inspection wasn’t yesterday.

That said, it doesn’t look like any statement is being released today. Which gives us two options really. Either the club has decided to sit on any issue and not tell us or the rumours were false. If it’s the former, the club need to wisen up and keep us in the loop, and get their arse in gear over running the club. If it’s the latter, then those making these rumours need to stop. Also, if there is something here, they need to not jump from hearing something about a situation and saying it will explode the next day, assuming a statement would be released.

    Siderite

May I suggest you scroll up a bit to see Deeryme have a little dig at me?… for no reason whatsoever.
Now the boot is on the other foot, he has gone to sit under his stairs with his dummy firmly in.
He loves having little pops at people, not just me, but he can not take it when in bounces back at him!..
Come on Deeryme, get back to your keyboard…its getting cold.

I think DM’s was a bit more light hearted in tone, but that’s just me. I will stay out of this little spat now.

You don’t help yourself. Stop attacking other fans, who will be supporting the club when they can, even if Hilton leaves and you have forgotten all about us.

Grimsby fans can read this board. It doesn’t need others to relay it to them, like it’s the other side of the Iron Curtain.

Lol, is that geezer the new official club spokesperson? If not, why should he be believed over anyone else who posts on social media? Ridiculous

We’ve gone from Simon Elliott to a Facebook group admin. How long until one of Dave’s abusive mates on a twitter burner becomes the spokesperson?

Amazing how this amateurishness regarding paying on time should be ignored, otherwise it’s ‘witch hunts’ and ‘trouble making’. Yet having a professional payment system which reliably works every month is beyond the question. How long will teething issues work as an excuse for this regular occurrence?

Whatever happens today, the important thing is that we are all SUFC fans. I know there has been a lot of tension lately, and the temptation to say “I told you so” will be great. Especially after so many on the Facebook group, twitter and on here lambasted anyone for so much as being cautious about Hilton. It wasn’t nice how so many just insulted others and accused them of not being true fans, while ignoring red flag after red flag. However, we won’t find a way to come together if we escalate it. I don’t know what the future is, but if worst comes to the worst, we may have to form a phoenix club. If that happens we want to have the fans united and on board, otherwise we’ll be like Bury, bickering for years. Even if this does not lead to the end, we need to be united and not just slam anyone for criticising the owner.

That said, I do think those who have attacked and lambasted others for scepticism* need to look at themselves in the mirror and climb down from their high horses about how much of a superior fan they are.

*I am aware some went overboard, but reasoned critique was often included or not singled out from such criticism of critics.

Blame Musk for that. You have to have an account to view twitter now. 64 has it right. Someone pretending to be Hilton, calling a fan a paedophile over and over again.
