Is promotion important ? In light of near extinction stability is first priority and the bigger gates will be helping deal with the debts left by the deserting owner that was. But then up a league and we would receive a bigger cash input from the higher league and larger away followings.
But then at the end of this season many players will have a shock in what is on the table financially should they be offered a new contract. Suspect there will be a bigger clearout than promotion would normally yield. Then of course recruitment will be based on a new budget although as some say season ticket sales will increase hopefully giving the club a boost.
The issue is not just dropping points it is the attitude supporters see when it happens. Give everything and the supporters will be proud of their team, look less than interested then gates will drop.

Comment after comment and most say the same. No urgency and on many occasions lack of interest.
This club had a reputation that no matter what level opponent we faced this club gave 100% and did not not quit. Now we pay too much attention to what the opposition will do our attitude should be for them having to cope with us. 1 up 11 minutes plus added time going defensive is fatal and proved yet again.

I want a ‘blood & guts’ performance that gets our supporters buzzing.
Own worst enemy suggests we are actively sabotaging our own success, I’d say we might be a victim of circumstances, some of which are the club’s own making.
How is where we are the clubs making ? There is no way the club wanted this. The club has been reduced to this by people who were failures ! They took it out on the Supporters and did it by nearly driving the club to extinction !
So will our tactics be determined by what they do ? Listening to Jd’s pre-match yesterday I fear so.
Need to be giving it 100% attacking from 1st minute and eliminate the Chuckle Bros. type football. He says these are must win games but not sure that message is in his pre-match, but they are they keep the home gates up and generate the revenue that will go towards helping getting rid of the embargo. We can’t even sign free agents on zero wages it is that draconian.
Can only wish him the best.

Pugh was in form when we recalled him. That 1st game fans said he had a good game now back on the bench. I don’t get it. The lad in his position will give it all every game, give him a run of games.
Then abandon the slow build ups and up the pace of passing.

Whatever the number who did or didn’t do the biggest factor is are the fans being entertained ?
You need to leave a game having watched the team try everything especially going forward. Chuckle brother football will not keep crowds up. Overthinking is fatal and it results in not wanting to lose.
JD’s pre-match and post match do not inspire. He seems irritated that he has to do them.
We have a stand in keeper – Andrew Boyce.
Can remember him stepping up when we lost 2 keepers with broken arms. That was when I decided Steve Cotterill was an idiot when he claimed Bristol City deserved the win at GP because they were so much better ! Collisions with Matt Smith ended up with broken limbs but not a reference about that !!
Boycey played his heart out.
Do not understand the logic when we set up to deal with opponents – I call it targeting. We should play a formation and make them cope with us. Watching passing by some irritates greatly. Receive the ball, control the ball and pass the ball accurately and at pace.

Poulter does like attacking CB’s and defences so that is probably why he is missing.

So the Rangers feal fell through ?
The teams announced at Sheffield I saw had him as sub or not in the squad. Not sure where he is at the moment.
Was always a battler, didn’t shirk a challenge, probably needs a run of games that some seem to get and not deliver and yet doesn’t get a chance. Just like Tom Pugh was before he went on loan. Let’s see what happens to Tom & Dion – both recalled.
Checkout Scunthorpe United page in todays Scunthorpe Telegraph interview and comments from Mr Dean.
Worrying.
The former owner brought him in to fail. Nelson should have got the job and I think we would have survived.
JD seems genuine guy but his post match interviews are dire and perhaps explain things. I know we are 2nd but is that because he is in charge or despite him ?
Dean was brought in to fail and I suspect that was Hiltons plan this year coupled with unaffordable wages. More failure, greatly increased debt – then club gone.
Tom Pugh was fully fit and in form, brings him back, gives him a start then on the bench !! Dion Sembie-Ferris fully fit and in form, brings him back because we need a winger and he puts him on the bench !! Just do not get a semblance of a plan.
Alfie Beestin got covid and sadly seems to have suffered long term, inconsistent at best is the feeling from others comments. Cam Wilson – don’t know what has happened to him, in both academy and the U23’s he was full of flair, frightened of no defenders no matter how big they were.
Sounds as though the plan was ‘Don’t lose’ which if so is so negative. This team should be top, play-offs are not a good plan.

I have a great aversion to managers over thinking things !
As usual down to who wants to win and not who doesn’t want to lose. Chuckle brother football will not be good enough. Best wishes to the club as they battle to reverse so much.
The Board have to put the club first for at least the next 2 years. Unless of course some benefactor steps forward, but as yet the euro is evading my grasp.
Will be down to management directive.
Sadly we do seem to have become a home for friends of the physio. It is a shame though.
One hopes the coaches draw his attention to this. Muzzy is not a fan of keepers being too far from their line.
Or was it a cross?
No. Having watched Tom from his 1st year in the academy he was accurate from that distance anywhere across the box. But he is better more central and going forward. Got a good passing range and will get in where it hurts for any crosses.
The only thing I would like to see from Tom is to take control more and tell players what he expects.
Law was missing injured last night and Butterfield has only just started training after his concussion. Protocol may make it a cautious recall so we aren’t short.
Personally I think Tom Pugh does a fine job IF we play him in his position, looks to move the ball forward for players who hopefully move into space. Takes good corners and free kicks and has a good shot.

Great to see Tom Pugh back, will be match fit and up for the challenge.

I can remember when we went from div 2 after many seasons into div 1 – the difference was frightening.
That is why I like a manager with more than one plan.
Don’t think he got much of a chance when he was with us. Good luck to him and he could dent some other teams chances.
Got to have qualified people in certain jobs. James and his gallant team did an amazing job to keep the club ticking over but they could not continue.
Louise knows the club, she is qualified and is highly rated by many and Michelle knows what is needed.

Latest managerial statement ” We can still …..” Do not like the word CAN. Plus now calling it a must win game – they all are for goodness sake.
I know we are second, but the gates have to stay up to help Michelle and the Board. It is not the wins but the nature of defeats that is at issue.

It must have been a nightmare for Michelle and the new board. Can imagine in every box was another shock.
But if Mr Rance was absent then I don’t see how he could expect to get paid.
