Know people who were at Wembley that day and they speak fondly about it.

It was never my cup of tea. Too much posturing and faux bonhomie for my liking.

Billed as the great hope for humanity. Didn’t quite work out that way though did it?

Was the crowd turning on him? Is this going to be another Kyle Wootton scenario AWG?

Perhaps Stan’s hands are tied? The black piggy bank may be saying neigh.

From AB’s comments on Connor Smith and Jack Muldoon I’d say that is the primary factor.

And if Campbell’s confidence wasn’t already shot it will be if fans keep shouting out for Butler to get another keeper.

What was the name of the one in the old open market? It was a cabin next to the kiddies’ roundabout.

My mum used to put me on the roundabout while she queued for the fish & chips.

    Happy days!

    LOL!

Everyone thinking it’s a repeat of two years ago apart from AWG who’s thinking about scrapping with the Fish.

LOL! Loving the way everything and anything is being blamed for us not signing Manuel Neuer.

Distribution wasn’t exactly great either. I predict we’ll sign a more experienced GK and when Campbell struggles he’ll end up taking his place.

Hopefully not when we find ourselves bottom of the league.

Maybe that’s what fits the budget – for now. Or he has improved?

Maybe we could have afforded a decent NL Keeper instead of spending a large chunk on Beestin…

Privy to Alfie’s contract negotiations were you?

    Was you?

Of course not. And the fact that you need to ask means you weren’t either.

Which is why it’s daft to speculate.

“A fool and his money are easily parted”.

If there are those out there desperate enough to get their hands on a new strip (as this thread proves) then why not?

Plenty of idiots up here walking around in cheap, chatty NUFC shirts with “Fender 25” on the back that they shelled out £96 for.

    Go for it!

No, this isn’t from Football manager, but from Mino Raiola. One of footballs biggest super agents. I was sent over individual dossiers on each player sent to me as PDF files.

No doubt there was one on Viktor Gyökeres. He’s been linked with every other club in the world so why not us?

Not a case of writing him off, more about only having one keeper on the books.

Andy Boyce can’t really be our back-up CB, CF and GK can he?

We only ever ate fish and chips in the Magpie once. It was poor. (Mind you, it was just after the lengthy closure they’d had some years back.)
There are better places in Whitby.
The Fisherman’s Second Wife (think that’s the name) has served us well. It had some super OAP deals and a decent view.
Dunno how things are now. Must be pre-covid since our last visit to Whitby.

Fisherman’s Wife at the battery Les. More family oriented and I think it closes early evening (we never pig out at lunchtime). Trenchers on the harbour was advertising itself as the National winners of best F&C.

Mind you we went up to Fife last year to visit the so called best in Scotland and it was very average.

Had Haddock & Chips in the famous Magpie in Whitby earlier this week (always a queue!).

Got to buy your mushy peas separately these days mind, but still top scran.

Is the Ball Retriever a bona-fide Kennel Club breed or a cross between a Pointer and a Pit Bull?
