Looking at the NL table again its very very difficult to call who will be promoted from this season.. any of the top 10 in with a shout
Clubs that bounce back tend to do so within the first couple of seasons after relegation. Beyond that, it gets much more difficult. Anyone reckon we’ll be competitive in the Conference next season?
No

i get the team sheet via a notification as it is posted and some times i have to do a double take or think theres a mistake as Hill has played players out of position quite often .. the Swindon line up was a tad strange.
IMO
decent keeper
Manny n Delaney pretty solid
Grant experienced a good player we snagged
from there on it seems to go pear shaped with little midfield creativity pace on the wings and cant score a goal for toffee.Bearing in mind we will more than likely be in the NL next season ive started following it more n more .. its real tight at the top with only 1 auto promo spot and another via a difficult play off route.
Any members on here care to offer a prediction on who will be promoted from the NL this term??
Im going for Stockport cos of there money and Bromley with the bigger boys Chesterfield , Wrexham, Notts County etc all missing out and in the mix with Scunny next season … OH not forgetting the Cods .. their fans are bouyant again after 2 wins and crowing how they will go up visa the NL play off route I HOPE NOT

Unfair on Hill to just suggest he got people in for the sake of people just seeing that something was being down.
Hill did his best and got in the best players he possibly could on a shoestring budget…not only that he had to bring in players that nobody else wanted and the reason why nobody else wanted them was the fact they weren’t match fit.
You can tell they’re getting fitter by the game but certainly not ideal or acceptable for where we are. All caused by Swann who went back on his word and didn’t pay the loan off.
Swann said “I’ll do everything I can to make sure we’re not relegated”…..fast forward 2 weeks and from the outside looking in he did the bare minimum.
Also you’re right, Swann’s not attending games and hasn’t been for sometime. I suspect if/when we go down, we’ll continue not to see him because he knows the shit that will be coming his way. Swann will avoid the club like the plague.
I am not at all putting any blame on Kieth Hill re signings .. in a shit spot HE DID HIS BEST , and despite how things are going he needs time to sort out the pile of crap he inherited on and off the pitch ..time he doesnt really have to save us this season.
Imagine the stink caused if Swan didnt bring anyone to GP in January HE had to have some players come in to make it look like he was interested and supporting Hill the reality of that maybe different but at the end of the day the tragic state the club is now in is down to one man his ego and his desire not for SUFC but his own ends and self survival if / when it goes tits up.We are talking about a guy who is so hands off and un interested in his “business” that he doesnt even turn up to watch the games.. its like me not going to my office everyday it shows his distain not only for the club but the fans..and i cant see Hill staying long term which would be a shame as at NL level i think he would keep us solid.
Ideally some crazy Scunny fan wins the lotto or a consortium of guys comes in and Swan n co can be bought out .. there i go dreaming again , but has got that bad now a miracle is needed.
UTI , claret n blue all way through.

I predict an almost every week performance.
Playing not badly, a few half chances, blocked shots, corners for us.
Then the opposition take advantage from a mistake by us (loose the second ball, a defender who let’s his man slip behind, losing possession in a dangerous place), and with our lack of scoring goals we cannot repair anything. Later, given away space while trying to attack, they will couterattack to a second and maybe a third goal…Blimey Dutch that’s sppoky! Did you buy a lottery ticket? With foresight like that you could win enough to buy the club!!
Tizz pretty accurate and a recurring senario tho

i agree i think we will struggle badly in the NL .. quite easily go the way of Darlo n York etc.

even with all its dated facilities, faults n cracks i prefered the Old Show Ground to GP ,,Donny road end n the walk from Brit to the ground there was an atmosphere that GP never really had or will never have again at GP.
It was a more entertaining better value way to spend a few hours ……..i much preferred the away days after moved to GP a way better gig.1 user thanked author for this post.
I know we haven’t got time but to gel eight new players together will take at least six weeks
If that’s the case then why bother wasting money to sign them at the end of January? Especially as the majority are either on loan or on contracts until the end of the season so won’t be here after that anyway.
Because some thing had to be seen to be happening .. by ….

Thompson was on the bench
Just watched Gareths Ironarmy vlog and hes always pretty accurate .. we looked slow n no cutting edge , their second goal was straight out the book of Irish jokes by Rick Oshay a huge fluke and very unlucky for us, the penalty was no way a pen..Manny got the ball.
Swindon looked faster n sharper and had acres of space and a man over constantly.
Keeping the faith UTI
well adrift at the bottom now and with others such as Oldham Carlisle seemingly improving ..SCORING SOME GOALS to be more accurate, ..it appears the fat lady named Dawn is tuning up for her full concert at GP possibly by early or mid March.
decent first half display .. load of bollocks the second,, the stats dont lie plenty of shots some even on target for a change but no goals again.
Hate being right on this but my head did predict a 3-0 to Swindon earlier in this thread ..1 user thanked author for this post.
Agree , all be it im still hoping for the miracle its pretty obvious its NL here we come and for sure a league very difficult to get out of at the right end…
My most pressing concern is the club going into admin folding and not existing at all.. i will be a Scunny fan til i die regardless where they play but the thought of them being no more is very haunting.Sadly have to agree … coming away with anything other than a heavy defeat will be a bonus..
my dreaming heart says 0-1 or 1-1 Scunny …….. alas my head is saying 3-0 Swindon

Or could we have a real go at this?
Fully match fit I think this line up is upper mid table which is what we need to be for the next 16 games:
Watson
Millen Onariase Delaney O’Malley
Grant
Sinclair Hackney
Feeney
Burns NuttallSubs:
Collins
Pugh
Rowe
Taft
Bunn
Pyke
BeestonMy glass is obviously half full this evening.
I will pretty much go with that line up when all fit and available, for sure we will have a better idea come the final whistle at Swindon where in honesty (not dreaming) a point would be a good result.
Hoping the Walsal win boosts belief n confidence.
Walsal sacked Taylor i see ..no real surprise
I think Delaney was excellent last night and looks an upgrade on Taft’s recent displays. To be fair Taft did OK when he came on. A lot more energy than he has been showing.
Possibly a player that needs something to prove to bring out his best given how good he looked when he first arrived here on loan.
Yes i missed Delaney off my earlier post … added to Grant he looks like a decent signing.
The fat lady coughed spluttered but sat down again , maybe shes got omicron ? and following two L2 clubs YT channels those being Walsal and Carlisle it appears they are getting squeaky bums and maybe the fat lady hasnt quite made her mind up where to sing yet.
keep the faith and get behind Hill and the lads.
UTI
Cox 11 in 15, 0.73
Hill 11 in 15, 0.73Youve got to take into consideration what Hill inherited from Cox .. i rate him as a manager but sadly he isnt a fairy godmother with a magic wand..
Grant looks like a class player calm cool and something we desperately needed .. the jury is still out on the other January intake.
3 points is 3 points and Carlise Walsal and a couple more in the mix will be nipping their arses now especially with Oldham winning again.
When hearing quotes n comments like ” building for the future” it concerns me … obviously alluding to a future in the NL and even lower ???, looking at the current teams in the NL Scunny would be in the bottom half at best… aka Southend.
Following the Oldham loss and looking how we played (didnt gel and looked unfit) the next fixture against Walsal is massive and Saddlers fans are labeling it as the biggest game of their season and a must win for both sides… another 0-0 or 0-1 then
Doomed …SAD BUT TRUE

Hi all. Walsall fan here.
Interested to hear your thoughts on Tuesday night. I’m going for some bizarre reason.
I’d also check out our managers post match comments from Saturday where he stated ‘we aren’t in a relegation battle’ – which is one of the strangest things I’ve ever heard.
We have a few decent players, but a completely imbalanced squad. Morale is very low.
Our press and fans are suggesting Taylor might be sacked if we don’t beat you, with even a draw deemed not good enough.
Thoughts ?
Two terrible sides and a must win for both .. if you loose against us im sure Taylor will get the boot.
Im going for a draw which in reality isnt much good for either side though it may keep Taylor safe another week.
I follow Walsall fan TV and the very loyal and passionate Simon …. even he looks worried and is very depressed by the current Saddlers situation.
Camorn Scunny show some fight and lets have a win
UP THE IRON
If we could play like Keith talks we have nothing to worry about.
Got to agree with that .. we would be toppa the league.
Oldhamn have strengthened their squad in the window ..plus new manager bounce ..gonna be a tough game tomorrow and IMO make or break and a win is a must, alas im going for an entertaining score draw .. PLEASE NOT A DEFEAT !!
Im happy with the players Hill has brought in in the window and pretty obvious these are Hills signings (no interference) theres more grit and experience in there now , Swann has supported Hill as he said he would …. now i just hope they gel from the get go.
I hope all the fans that can go do go and get behind the NEW IRON .. enjoy n sing yer hearts out for the lads.
UP THE IRON
the deadline has ended and the scores on the doors ..
8 In have to confess dont know much about them other than whats on the SUFC website
Burns
Matheson
Sinclair
Feeney
Grant
Nuttal
Pyke
DelaneyA few out .. Hippo being the only one of slightest concern heyho
IMO ..like the experience above ,players with a bit of nous , pace and will get stuck in.
Huge game this Saturday ..and as Hill comments 18 cup finals ahead … he also confirmed there are still a few players here who he wanted shot ov ??????
Its not over til the fat lady sings … though i did hear her tuning up with a tentative humming sound.
Camorn Scunny UP THE IRON

If that turns out to be correct we are fooked its goodnight Viena n welcome to the NL1 user thanked author for this post.
hope the next couple of days are busy ones for Scunny …

One should never take for granted the option of supporting your chosen footy team and going to watch them on match days.. rain snow or blow through good times and bad, yes its always better whilst winning and competing at the toppa which ever league your club is in.
I followed Scunny home and away for years pre 2000 before left UK shores .. i can honestly say after 22 years away there are very few things i miss in Blighty..but going to watch the Iron is most definately one of them along with family , friends and proper fish n chips from a proper chippy (Scunny had plenty back then) , 7 hour time difference is a pain and thank the lord for tinternet so i can keep up to speed and watch “live” on line when available…i get my Scunny shirts sent over every year via a mate but IMO none of this compares to being at the ground and all that goes into a day at the footy , pre match pint , shitty pie n bovril at half time and the banter with the lads.only my opinion ans each to their own thats what makes the world go around.

Love your loyalty and optimism .. i too am keeping the faith and praying for a run of wins starting against Oldham.
IF only Hill had been brought in sooner .. my worry is its too late ..but miracles happen n its a funny old game and not over until mathematically impossible to survive.

I think Hill is doing his best with his hands tied some what.. 6 losses on the bounce but talking to a mate who went to Vale Park said played a lot better and Feeney Grant and Sinclair improved us dramatically … hope can get a striker , goal scorer in ..Nuttal ciming soon ???? plus another ..also a replacement for Taft who is dog shit.
Why would you take Burns off 1-0 down ??? n chuck on a fella who was right back 2 weeks ago if im not mistaken.
Its looking bleak …bleaker by the week ..and if a miracle happens forever more it will be Houdini Hill .. alas pretty much look doomed to the NL
Fantastic turn out n support from the traveling fans .. WELL DONE TO ALL
ironarmy YT vlog sums it up all be it this week a bit strange due to sad circumstances
UP THE IRON ..CALRET N BLUE ALL WAY THROUGH.

good news ..lets hope can get a few more book ends out n better options in , more so they click from the outset ..
Obvious with Kenyon dropping 2 leagues it highlights theres been too much dead wood in the squad in recent years… Cox years mainly.
Hoping for Grant , Nuttal plus a couple more at the very least… it looks like Hill is specifying players he wants and not the boardroom mafia.
