McDonaghNot far off what im thinking (but ive changed my line up thoughts twice already).

Elliot up front Fewster out
Boyce replaced by BREOnly 4 certs to start IMO ..
Chapman
Ogle
Elliot
Mcdonagh3-1 to Scunny
only here a month ..
I personally can’t stand her. I remember she once was commentating on a premier league match and the language been used, she came across as though she was a new age, football demi god.
1st, 2nd, 3rd phase. Transition this and transition that…she was speaking as if football was rocket science. Gave me the impression she was trying to intentionally over complicating the game in order to come across as some kind of football genius.
She was commentating with Gary Neville I think at the time, he was talking in simple terms about not getting enough people back to defend and getting caught out of position, she then blabbed on for a solid 5 minutes talking about multiple phases of play and various transitions.
I was thinking at the time, please shut up. Nobody else could get a word in edge ways.
Agree there WG .. i think she sees herself as some sort of football influencer, and until she changes gender or grows a penis should stick to washing up,ironing, mopping floors and making a cuppa tea n bacon butty.(can i say that?) ..oh i did already !!

Every game I watched under Hill we were always set up not to get beat rather than tyring to win.
[/quote]
Spot on .. in hindsight Hill was a disaster both tactically , selection of players and operated an overall very negative “how to stop the opposition playing/scoring ” set up rather than attacking his brand of football was dull and uninspiring no wonder it/he (and Swan) took us to where it did.
i have revised my prediction
Scunny 3 DnR 1 .. Elliot to score 2 on his debut (1 a pen) and Ferris , DnR pen
Hoping for another big loud proud crowd … must lift the players knowing they have such support.
Or same back 4 and Gk
Butterfield Fewster Whitehouse
Wilson, Beestin or Feeney in the no 10 role
Front two of Elliot and McdonaghA lot of options now so god knows what he’ll go for, we’ll have some good options off the bench now. You could even go for Ferris as part of a front 3.
I forgot about him !
No place for Shields ??
It really is pure speculation with so many options for Jimmy to work with… after looking again its very difficult to even guess but here are my 4 guarantees to be in the starting line up
Chapman (New No 1 first choice with Foster as back up)
Ogle (been on fire recently)
Elliot Mcdonagh (Assuming Deans first choice pairing up front)
**********
Options for Ferris n Shields as attacking wingers , Midfield remains hard to call as does who to complete the back 4 with Ogle.
bet yer hoose on 2 pens in this game
3 points a must Saturday anything less we are fooked …..again
Going back a month not having any real choice of players its been turned on its head and could field two sides .. i had totally forgotten about Shields.
oh yeah forgot my prediction
2-1..to Scunny Elliot n Ferris to score .. fingers crossed in fact im crossing everything even my ears
Back to the line up …forgot Feeney is back also and had a decent game against Barnet
I hope to be proven wrong but I can’t see the new gaffer working well with Butterfield.
Chapman
Ogle
Everton
Boyce
LeakeWhitehouse
Wilson
Beestin
FerrisElliot
McdonaghPretty much whhat i would go with only question mark would be Butterfield , Whitehouse Beestin im predicting Butterfield may not be involved due to an underlying issue or something ..just the way he was benched immediately
but good reviews from Barnet supporters
Be interested to hear what the Barnet fans thought of him ….bearing in mind the berating hes getting from Bradford n Yeovil.
I hope the lad has a run of games and comes good we need a decent CD for sure.
Oh my days … just seen some of the comments from Yeovil and Bradford fans re BRE .. doesnt make for pleasant reading .. On 16 game loan so just his wages to pay , time will tell.
Yes we needed a CD, im just wondering who spotted and chose to sign him ???
Im told by a biz colleague who retired from said UK department that can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks after a sale to be updated depending on the circumstances.
As i pointed out in my earlier post probabaly wrong about the former FL clubs now in the NLN .. i was.
I never knew Boston Utd Soutport and BPA had been in the FL … never to old to learn.
If we are going down, then we should do so with a bang. (Not fireworks or anything else illegal). Show the Iron that we will always support them, and that the mad dad Swann has not stopped us.
We are Scunthorpe UTBI.
Support my the fans now and next season is critical.. gives the players a boost seeing so many at home and willing to travel to away games being as loud as possible… as you say shows them it was Swan and his disasterous running of the club that was keeping fans away

If the miracle this season doesnt occur (im praying it does)….. then…
Heres the current NLN table , my earlier prediction of Scunny winning it handsomely next season needs slight evaluation ,looking at it more closely its not gonna be a walk in the park and i may have been a tad over optimistic due to wearing my claret n blue beer goggles ….
A Top 7 is more realistic …..sad but true , thankfully safe from extinction just starting from scratch.

No news on a CD coming in ??..
Although touted as the best league in the world and possibly rightly so as earlier mentioned in this thread i too am not overly interested in the EPL more so the big 5 or 6 clubs and much prefer following the lower leagues (which is just as well being a Scunny fan for the best part of 50 years).
Grass roots football with mostly working class fans that follow their club for the right reasons… it must be boring being a City ManU Liverpool Chelsea fan playing in what are lop sided games and expected to win comfortably weekly im pleased to see the wheels coming off some of these so called mega clubs alas it could end up with abreak away super league as mooted a year or so back.
For me its Scunny United n only Scunny and thank the lord our club is safe to fight another season, next will more than likely be NLN some fantastic away days with a big following watching a rebuilt team playing attractive football at the right end of the table .. weve had too many years at the wrong end of a league but im sure from next season with this new owner , manager players and new found buzz around the place them days are behind us.
i dont give a rats arse if Man city are expunged kicked out .. wont change the course of my life, where as to have so nearly lost SUFC that certainly would have done.

We are not going to stay up, and that is not the fault of our new owner & manager we all know that, the damage was done with our recruiting pre-season and selling the only players scoring goals during the season.
What’s done is done, we need to focus on the things we can change which is building a side that can win promotion from the NLN at the first time of asking. If we can pick a few wins up in the remainder of this season for us long suffering fans then its a bonus.
Absolutely bang on ..
i hope the whole town gets behind the club from now on .. oh imagine taking big numbers away to some NLN grounds in a weird way twood be a great period in history to be a Scunny fan

The last two seasons seem to have just been a very long preparation for an assault on the NLN title (you have to win it to guarantee getting out of it) next season.
Yeah .. if i was a betting man which i am even thought its illegal here i would stick 5k pounds om Scunny to win the NLN handsomely next season..
i watch Gareths Ironarmy YT channel and the many die hard fans that are sure we can stay up … teams take time to gel and we wont see Jimmy Deans best side until next season in NLN .. sorry to burst balloons i just arent as confident as many fans appear to be that we will survive this season.. i really hope im wrong.Am i detecting a hint glee in your multiple Oldham – Nuttal winning posts Rene ?.
Im loving the new found buzz at the club but the sad reality that IMO there simply arent enough games left for the new Scunny manager to weave some magic and get this mish mash of new and old to gel and go on an unprecedented winning streak to safety .. miracle required

Oldham have a nice little run of fixtures coming up.
They should go a long way to ensuring their survival in their next 3 games:Tuesday 14th February
Oldham v GatesheadSaturday 18th February
Oldham v Maidstone UnitedTuesday 21st February
Gateshead v Oldhamor go the other way and loose to Gateshead who have improved last couple of games..
i predict Oldham will pick up no more than 4 points from them 3 fixtures and remain in trouble.
personally i dont give a fig about Man C , the big 5 6 or 7 EPL clubs are a law unto themselves and too be honest the only club i give a rats arse about is Scunny.
History is for historians and those who like to dwell on the past whether missed opportunities or good bad decisions .. i say the future is CLARET N BLUE … thank the lord our club has a future.

Hope the “”misfits”” can be combined along with some of Nelsons reformed players n youngsters to form a good mix .. nowt wrong with a bit more competition for places and so glad to see the new keeper come in….all very positive from where we were a mere fortnight ago.
Two great signings IMO ..now
Please IF YOUR READING Mr Hilton sign a rock solid CB who is quick .. at the mo that area on the pitch is like a Blackpool donkey in the Grand National.
Im sure this issue will be clarified .. doubt Mr Hilton is choosing the players on his own back.
Woke up to some great news with the 7th n 8th new signings of Elliot n Chapman ..
agree with WG .. a decent quicker CB now and be the cherry on the cream on the cake !!
Hoping it all gels and positive performances n results follow… after months / years of depression and negativity the buzz is back…and Mr Hilton is doing what it says on the tin.
UTI
Due to the more positive outlook for SUFC and now covid seems to have moved on im planning a trip home with my son .. he visited Glanford park once when he was 3 years old … hes 24 this October, as well as seeing my daughter and meeting grand kids for the first time im also gonna take in as many of my haunts as possible in Scunny and surrounding area and into the Isle of Axholme .. Epworth was also a regular place for a few as had family there… worried about the cost of everything its 20 years since i was there.. ONE LAST VISIT FOR OLD TIMES SAKE.
Anyway back to the footy .. is this Elliot any good , anymore news.
