    Wendy n Jubber v DH

    popcorn at the ready ..

Thought DH reply covered it .. yes its sad but in hindsight he should of gone with his first closure in Feb ..i take it Tony Daws bizz plan didnt work out…

Hes the owner and the tough decisions lay at his door , if the set up was as big of a disater as it seems pulling the plug is the best option.. as for paying off all concerned sounds like its in process so lets see how that goes before building gallows on the GP center circle .

welcome to Bru ironeyeinsider .. rather an abrupt first post on the day of your registration.
Shameful maybe ?? true or false possibly … alas who knows, but with all the rumours that are flying around this one can just remain in the inbox along with the 2000 GP restriction ready to be processed.

    DH has replied

    David White
Wendi Betts Rob Jubber here’s the facts.
The academy has 8 scholars that’s all, with 2 of them already left for Grimsby.
We have received NO funding since June.
The Academy staff have known for weeks i had closed it.
The academy setup and administration was nothing short of a disgrace. The academy had vastly overpaid staff (substantially higher salaries than EFL) but it did not even pass an EFL audit in order to retain some sort of funding.
The academy has left the club with a six figure debt.
The academy has not one sell on despite being funded by the EFL for years.
Many children left to go to other clubs over the years with the club benefiting nothing. Where is the loyalty that everybody seems to demand from the club.
People need to stop moaning, someone had to make the difficult decision and the football club will always be my priority. The academy was failing miserably.
I have said I will support a separately run community junior section using volunteers and parents like all none league clubs do. But rather than show any interest in that is all I hear about us money money money.
There was also very much a feeling of them and us within the academy and for whatever reason it never felt unified.
I will not apologise for my decision, my only regret is not sticking to my guns in February. If the remaining 6 are good enough they will find their path.
I’m respect if wages we are closing down the academy as we speak, calculating figures and Wendi you are on the list to contact as you are one of the three who I have a figure for but I suspect it is wrong as there will be further days up to the end of last week. But coming on here slating the club that’s paid you constantly extremely good money is a prime example of why my decision to close the academy is the right one.
All staff will be paid once we gave final figures across the board and can settle everything and move on. We have been working on this for several days

Many moons ago whilst living in a rural location i had a brain fart and bought two goats from a local farmer, it was firstly my intent to get an ostrich so it could go out on the moped to the pub with me but having heard how much they eat and how they can be violent after a few beers i decided on goats .. what an absolute disaster they ate through the fence scoffed all my flowers and veggies and even the clothes line and its contents .. suffice to say i gave them to the local village bobby who kept them in the grounds of the police station to keep the grass trimmed.

Just checked out the SG online menu and reviews n all seems very positive looks delicious..lets hope they cant serve for the whole season at least and it is well received by GP fans.

Casting my dusty old mind back when DH took the helm i recall him commenting with regard to how the club was being ran and how over staffed it was at the same time he confirmed there would be the stream lining of staff numbers and obviously redundancies.
Tough business decisions to make and with the closing of the academy , relieving some others of their duties and just yesterday sub contracting out the FnB gig at GP it appears to be keeping to that in an attempt to make the club sustainable focusing on the football to get the club back up the leagues ASAP.

DH has my support in most departments alas not keen on his chosen SM route to keep fans updated when IMO this should be done in a more direct professional media manner via the clubs official website in the form of press releases and/or club statements “a message from the chairman” header… the club statement is widely used already for announcements and DH should use it for important news updates and to clear up rumours and confusion that blight the club at the moment.

This is head and shoulders the best topic being discussed on this forum right now. Best drink to go with curried goat, any takers 🤔

Booze is my business and yes our Belgian beers are by far our best sellers but not Hoegarden which for the Asean market is now brewed under license in Vietnam and not as good as the original.

With regard to a beer to go with the food discussed best option would be a good fresh crisp ice cold Blond ale or Pilsner lager such as Pilsner Urquell from (Chech Rep) which was the birth place of the pilsner lager in a small town called Pizen, also a few from Belgiium such as Pax Pils , Delirium Tremens, La Corne Blond and Kasteel Xtra all would go deliciously with the suggested cuisine.

Cannot comment on whats available and prices in the UK but guessing something like Carling or Hob Goblin Gold would be a more realistic option

Back to the catering at GP .. seems like a tender was in and excepted pretty dam quick so must be an element of confidence things will work out especially if a bond payment or retainer has been included and paid by the FnB suppliers.

Good luck to them and i hope it all goes well to enhance the match day experience for fans.

On another note …..looking at the training pics on the club website and the short vid on the FB page there seemed to be 2 or 3 faces missing and a couple i did not recognize at all ..Roberts , Law and Butterfield were the ones i noticed being absent ..at least when the photographer was there.

Less smiles also .. i hope all is well with the boys.

As WGs rightly points out we must except after years of miss management just how far the club has fallen and it boils down to cutting the cloth accordingly ..

Not sure if there are any NLN or NL clubs with reserve teams , U18s or academies ?

Apparently lots of fans haven’t received the shirts they ordered a while back. They’re either late or been recommissioned for claret and blue tents I reckon.

Indeed quite a few commenting on various media platforms as to the whereabouts of the missing apparel .. this is just crying out for another sanctioned proper Herberts post over on the SUFG page which for the time being im not being blocked from entering.

DESPERATELY NEEDED, people to wear a yellow hi-viz jacket on Saturday, minimum wage but free entry to the stadium, although most of the time you’ll be facing away from the play on the pitch.

What is the minimum hourly wage nowadays ?

How many hours on match days?

Can you stand side ways to watch the game out of one eye ?

Would you have to declare it therefore effecting any benefits ?

Any travel expenses paid , food and beverages included?

Any chance of being paid before you start in case of any miss understandings or banking delays.

    Asking for a friend

… and the 2,000 SAG restriction?

Hasnt the 2000 restriction rumour been put back in the pantry AA ??

23 traveling PS fans represents 13% of their home fan attendance against Scarboro ..

Be lucky to get 3000 at GP this Saturday … numerous reasons best read on the SUFG page.

A banned (or at least untill recently) supporter is now acting as spokesperson for the club.

    Progress?

For the most part and at time reluctantly i have remained positive to all our new owner has done to date but IMO DH going down this route to inform fans on any issue let alone one as serious as these is simply head shaking DM..totally unprofessional from a fella who professes to be and in all intense n purpose is a successful businessman …. the organ grinder always with an answer or explanation just obviously prefers using a chosen monkey to get it out there.

All this time a stony silence re updates via the club website (unless its selling something) and basing any thoughts on SM tit bits rumour and in some cases total bollocks must rile grass roots fans ..it does me.

I did mention sub contracting the clubs catering on another thread recently .. i just see it as DH thinking its one less thing to have to operate.
Good luck to anyone putting in a tender sounds like buying a whole lot of headache n bother with a risk to make very little profit if any at all.

There could of course be a perfectly legitimate reason for binning the commercial staff and others and really its pure guesswork with all the shit thats going around at the moment, one rumor is barely put to bed before another one starts.. footballs answer to Coronation Street.

You hit the nail on the head there snot .. what businessperson in there right mind would submit a tender in the current uncertainty hanging over the club/GP.. beggars belief DH and the recruiting dept thinks otherwise.. bonkers!! .. saying that prospective new directors lined up out of Jack Brownsword Way by all accounts.

Ego’s are so evident. Would do better if they concentrated on the basics and at their level they are poor.

Too much tip-tap you to me to you to me. Predictable plan and what is this ‘I hope my ponytail is ok’ after everything ! Several years ago the Australians asked to play an under 16 boys team – stopped at halftime as the only time the women got the ball was for kick-offs !!

Personally I think an U11’s academy team would be too big a challenge for ours !

WOW S49 i thought i was the only person who thinks womans football is total gash (football wise) .. however the lasses do have a place in the modern day game …. changing rooms need cleaning n kits need washing n ironing .. just kiddin sorry ill get mi coat !!

Possibly another day in court for DH ?? if all is to be believed he must of racked up a few bonus points to get his own parking space.

Players expenses not paid ?? now that could end badly , lets see if there are as many smiles in training this week.. if true my score prediction for Saturday needs amending.

sorry to veer off topic briefly with a hint of negativity but i did notice our some what creditable results in pre season against FL opposition maybe be put into prospective with Hull Donny and Burton all loosing on the opening day.. also both members of last seasons 100 point club comprehensively brought down to L2 earth.

Back to this coming Saturday.. dare i say , surely Scunny cant play any worse than they did at Tamworth… still mulling over my prediction , i take it no injuries from last Saturday ?

I wished i shared the optimism of those predicting the score this Saturday on the Fans fB page .. i fancy another tight game that wont be the pasting some are expecting,, a win against Scarboro means Peterboro will be coming full of confidence to get one over their old gaffa.

Being accurate so often im saving my prediction til later in the week ..

Seems throwing flares onto the pitch happens a lot nowadays i recall watching the famous orange one away at the cods when KVV scored… in my day the projectile of choice used to be the bog roll.

Just watched the Ironarmy YT vid over again and it seems the Scunny faithful love a few beverages on their travels and i dont mean orange squash… whats the deal drinking in the ground during games nowadays? .. Turf Moor and Brunton park two places serving under the stand and i recall getting bladdered at both has all that stopped at EFL grounds now ?

SUFC ticket website suggests they’ve sold a grand total of 6 tickets so far.

Couple of selection headaches for Jimmy, will Butterfield start?

Butterfield the first of quite a few big selection issues for JD ….will Roberts start ??? a much better performance needed at GP next Saturday.

and What was so awful about the pitch? … It was plastic , the game should be played on grass.

The plastic pitch quite possibly did play a part in the performance ..Russ Wilcox mentioned several times during commentary how much of an advantage it was for Tamworth ..heard a few comments that we looked very uncomfortable getting used to it, thats not taking away from the fact that Tamworth were the better side in other areas not only due to the surface that they are obviously used to playing on both on match days and more than likely training.

Thanks for the commentary link samways , it was a hard listen at times and sounded like a pretty dire game played in bad weather on a dikky pitch.. Russ Wilcox in the commentary box was a bonus much prefer him or anyone over Mr Cox.

Interesting interview with DH in which he was asked a few awkward questions but sounded very positive.
