Firstly,AFAIK a player doesn’t have to be registered to play in a friendly.
I wasn’t aware of the quote from Dean but the word “Hope” maybe suggests that the rumours may have substance.
    We’ll find out this afternoon.

Ok cheers .. forgot its a friendly so not regd dont matter.

I HOPE i win the lottery so i can buy the club and also GP etc , shouldnt overlook the small issue of needing a place to play should we.

Dont suppose the Brigg game will be on radio or the net ???

Pray tell with me livin tother side of the world what is the word on the street .. the rumour ??

Some of the new signings got cold feet .. done a runner .. unable to be registered ??

i pulled this snippet off the SUFC website ..i note the word HOPE

“””Manager Jimmy Dean will HOPE to show off his new-look Scunthorpe squad with a whole host of additions such as Callum Roberts, Ross Barrows, Michael Clunan and a further eight signings that have all bolstered the team so far this summer.***

    Today will be interesting.
If rumours are to be believed, and I must stress that they are only rumours and I’ve seen no evidence one way or another.
Let’s see how many of the new signing play today at Brigg.

That sounds very ominous SUFC ..

sorry if posting on this thread and it topping the Bru page some members may have initially thought we had signed him …. in all this DH PS toy throwing i had forgot about the possible 3 new faces coming in , one being mooted to be Lavery .. must be about the money as just why any player would want to come to Scunny in the current climate is beyond me suppose it depends on promises made and which tale they are being told.

If Hilton is using the unregistered land as an “excuse” not to complete the sale then surely Swann registering the land will allow the sale to complete or call his bluff.
This assumes, of course, that Swann still wants to sell and Hilton has the funds to buy. If the info above is true regarding the simplicity of registering the land then things could be sorted next week, or am I dreaming?

Absolutely 100% bang on correct ..that yer dreaming !!

As with so many other aspects combined to make this mess ..no one actually has proof any such ransom strip exists ..its DH word against PS and that seems to be the case for just about everything associated with all this debacle

posted this earlier ..can anyone give an explanation why it appears so many may have been and still are being hooked ???

Part of Swans post that makes me double take is where he comments on all involved with the 1899 scheme , numerous sponsorship deals , car parking charges, season tickets and new signings being given the impression all is well re actually playing at GP when clearly it isnt… so many different ppl all seemingly of sound mind and happy to jump on board and part with their money lends me to think what have they been told ..and who actually knows the truth.
follow this on with the newly appointed directors .. nobodys fools but experienced successful business ppl who have also been seemingly keen to climb aboard the Hilton express are we to assume they been belt fed a load of tosh.

I can only suggest DH and his new board start dialogue with Swan ASAP to get some sort of deal over the line or we are toast.

wow .. waking up to this , WTF has happened to our club.

a few comments and im gonna have a black coffee laced with Jamesons and lay down in a darkened room for a while.

Great post from Captcod re the club being a community asset..thankyou

IB .. prize for best tongue up arse post.

Swan should never have been allowed to rob the land n GP in the first place he done us like a kipper

DH no doubt is slippery , he has chucked in a lump of his money and effectively did save the club ..or did he ?

Legal action to repo GP .. is it too late , can a deal still be struck i truly hope Hilton n Swan can find a way out of this clusterfook or else i fear SUFC will be no more

I really fear for our club.

seems a fair n balanced post by DH and for the most part i dont have any issues with it .. i do feel the comment about there being more negative posts than positive on Bru is a tad off the mark as IMO there are probably only a handful of really anti Hilton contributors on here with the majority being anxious and worried about the clubs future with so much BS swirling about.

I agree its time to unite get behind the club in its entirety and see wear the journey takes us.

    uti

I am more sceptical than you, but hats off to you (along with Sanfran, who I believe is behind Hilton) for a reasonable approach, in my opinion. It is a forum where people share their opinions and we can’t all think the same. The more sceptical may be wrong, but these attempts at division and attacks on others for not being true fans, because they are more questioning of Hilton has to stop.

I too am sceptical but even with all the shite flying just wanna give DH the benefit of the doubt and hope the team can start to win football matches and get the buzz back.. there are some points which grind at me like the new ground in 2 years bollocks but for now its anew owner manager n team and now board of directors .. so im gonna sit and cheer from top of the fence until the SUFC drains clear and more good or bad comes to fruition.

Sorry IFA, but what more are we expected to do apart from attend games when we can? Is anyone saying they’re boycotting games are something? No. Does he mean we’re all supposed to lick his boots and not question stuff people in their right minds would question? Is that unity? Sounds like BS to me. Sorry.

yep loads of unanswered questions re DH and much more but nothing will change with all the infighting and negativity at the mo i just wanna focus on the new season and hope JD can get the team winning games and see some smiling happy faces leaving GP ..

def overloaded in MF .. im guessing JD n Co were of the mind both Wilson and Butters would be on their toes n away but that changed .. need another striker and pretty much squad is complete.

In which case, why offer Wilson a new contract? Why sign replacements before a firm decision is received?

Also didn’t ironinsider say the new players weren’t registered on one thread, well they are on the first team page on the club website now

Love it, next time a club is punished for fielding an ineligible player they can just say “but we put their pictures on our website, what more do you want?

Ferrite ..Wilson and Butters both stated they wanted away then did a U turn .. AFTER new players had been signed and actually gave the reason for the change of heart …quote : due to the ambition being shown by the club re signings ..Wilson then accepted a contract , Butters not sure about him.

Can only guess what has happened to the 3 new faces reportedly arriving this week inc Lavery .. maybe some thing has changed who knows .

What’s the upshot of the nitty gritty IFA? My phone won’t play the video for some reason. Might be my settings or preferences in my phone settings? Cheers.

The first part of the vid is more about Dannys early years and being a young player and the countries hes played and studied in … mid way through the chat gets more into recent times from him joining Scunny to present day and the current squad.

Nice that the guys mentioned Shaun Maxwell who sadly passed away on Monday, a huge Scunny fan

RIP and condolences to Shauns family and friends

Christ sake, Swann binned off all the Directors and put his family in….you all whinge, new guy tries to put a board of Directors together to control the day to day running of the club and guess what??? you all whinge. It is actually becoming depressing supporting this club.

Dunno about BECOMING depressing Pat , its not been very positive for years.

Iam 100% behind DH , JD the team staff and just hope the club can stop the rot and move back up the footballing pyramid.

Whilst a get its a business and needs investment and direction from where ever possible the club seems to be able to blanket cover every conceivable avenue across all forms of social media re sponsoring etc etc yet when it comes to day to day updates on both on n off field goings on what most fans want to know there seems to be a real lack of effort to do just that in a timely manner.

Also general legitimate fan queries n questions being asked receiving little or no response is a tad off putting

Hoping for the best and trying to keep all the possible negatives firmly in the back of my mind as IMO this coming season is a defining one in the survival/future of SUFC.

I think is not unexpected really, Tony has been in charge of the youth team squas for naby years, and what players during these years has he ever brought any special players through???/.

What really shocks me is hoe the hell does Musser keep his job, being goal keeping coach over the years, we have had possibly the worst set of keepers in what ever leagues we have been playing in!!!!.

He should also be given his marching orders.

Agree ..for what ever reason Mussy does seem bullet proof despite a string of at best average keepers. (Gilks remains my fav Iron keeper from the past).
