    Awful game
    4-3-3 apparently…. I can’t see it!
    No width
Out muscled and dragged into a huff ball game with zero quality
Subs changed the game, Butterfield was majestic!!

Yep cant disagree with any of that

Can’t believe number 19 is still playing. Clearly not lifted a finger pre season and looked to be towing a caravan all game.

Need to be ruthless against players like that and stick 2 up top and hit the channels.

    No mercy

Russ Wilcox politely commented on him by saying he looked “less mobile than others” and should be targeted… very diplomatic as the guy was a proper lard arse who looked like a pie seller that had sneaked on the pitch.

3 points is 3 points and HMS piss the league has begun her maiden voyage.

A few thoughts regarding today though. Elliot isn’t a lone striker and never will be. If Elliot’s not shoehorned in on the right, I think Whitehall needs to be starting.

I’d also be tempted put Pugh/Rance in Beestin’s position as I don’t think he’s a sitting midfielder. Only one game gone though so we’ll see how it goes.

3 points is 3 points though and to be fair while Tamworth had limited quality they would be a nightmare for more sides at this level. You could tell they’d be horrible to play against. The pitch was awful as well which wouldn’t have helped.

After that performance im even more concerned about your HMS Voyage WGs .. 4 4 2 .. need 2 up front for sure.

A win is a win ..nasty conditions and dodgy plastic pitch …. Tamworth will win a lot of home fixtures for sure.

ref was absolute gash .. CRAZY NUMBER OF CAUTIONS FOR NOTHING … i was told he showed the programme seller a yellow card when she fell over .

Following this story on SM it appears no arrests and it was just verbals between rival fans as Scunny supporters walked from train station .. some local business owners fearing the worst pulled the shutters down but sounds like it was blown up for the wow factor.

Tamworth do have a small firm and recently serious trouble at home with Nuneaton and put the shits up visiting Ilkeston fans by all accounts bricking their bus after the game.

Most reports seem like good atmos in the pubs etc .

Wilcox on RH critical of the formation playing one up front

Enjoyed Russ Wilcox commentary .. talks a good game and was spot on re the one up front formation.
i was surprised Elliot came offin a straight swap for Whitehall but Scales pushed forward more .. Butterfield added some creativity.

Aslippery 3 points but hey ho great to notch a Saturday away win after such along time without one

Just had a msg off a mate already in a pub near Tamworth and its stonking it down.

I replied ..its summer rain so not too cold i hope.

Sounds like its gonna be nasty in an open end , unless of course if the Iron win then it doesnt matter.

sticking with my earlier 1-1 prediction.

    Another rumour survived.
The dawn of a new day, a new season and undoubtedly… a new rumour.
    What will todays rumour be?

Another rumour hasn’t survived though has it?
We aren’t playing at GP today.

Very true snot .. im sure the rumour clouds will become clearer after the weekend and the run up to Peterboro @ GP ..i remain hopeful that DH comment the 2k cap is nonsense will be accurate and not just another unforseen oversight or miss understanding.

i woke up late but was pleased to see no major overnight bad news so for now i will concentrate on the last slice of jiggly cake and of course later today the footy hopefully a Scunny win ..UTI

Are these in effect salaried employees or are they donating a significant sum of money each season to the club?
    Significant sum = £50k
    Or simply volunteers?
    What’s in it for them?

I read on tinernet somewhere 30k was the sum paid per director AA but absolutely no way to verify that..

yep agree … Fast approaching my bed time and also the end of the working week in Sunny Scunny and still no news or announcements , maybe no news is good news as ny gran used to say.

if only the club were as pro active in keeping fans updated as they are as with the sales of advertising for sponsors, STs , car parking , kits n merc and sourcing new directors.

Hoping not waking up to an upsetting brown stain tomorrow … on the first day of the new season i mean not the claret n blue satin sheets.

UP THE IRON EVERYONE .. dreaming of an away win and jiggly cake !!

I heard about a potential capacity cap earlier in the week, but it was initially rubbished by my source. I understand the club have since been notified that several issues must be rectified

Righteeho .. thanks for that SST .. now any idea as the the nature and severity of the issues that need rectifying ?? .. are they structural , human resources / lack of stewards?

IMO bad form if the club cannot at least keep fans updated with such serious goings on.

Ive got a nasty feeling this is gonna be a grim day in the history of our beloved SUFC .. my PC is logged in and grab is the order of the day for my food n beer which is just as well cos its been pissing it down solid for 3 days.

My point is snot, that the club should be pre-empting important news like this being leaked, circulated amongst a handful of fans and get ahead of the game. Avert potential PR disasters.

Agreed very unprofessional by SUFC whom seem to prefer festering rumours to cards on the table so fans know whats going on.

Obviously at the moment this doesnt effect me but I would very much hope the club will make any necessary announcements promptly and keep fans updated with regard to serious developments like the ones you mention.

I know you’re in a different time zone but you should stay up today and keep an eye out for the news to come out from the club.
One thing that is common knowledge now is that the S.A.G.have slapped a 2000 capacity cap on GP for the coming season, although that won’t matter as we no longer have any stewards.

Ok thanks .. im actually living n working out of my office as i do this time of year and have my PC logged in most of the time so will follow events.

When will shit end .. being in limbo and all this uncertainty is very depressing wouldnt it be great to just have a “normal” situation at the club where its the football that makes all the headlines.

    Thanks again snot .

SNOT this throwing of tit bits isnt helping …. if you are able to confirm anything please enlighten us to the exact detail surrounding the previous post … have you received solid info re moving out of GP ? to Gainsboro ? .. all very ominous and potentially a disaster which no doubt will destroy the fan base and any real optimism for the coming season.

    worrying times.

Wasn’t Richgy saying on another thread a few weeks back that the cods had done some decent recruitment this summer and were looking to build on last season’s reasonable league return position this time around? If so maybe the Scunny/ Cods double wouldn’t be so clever after all, unless you go for double promotions.

The Cods have signed a few decent players but had a pretty mediocre pre season .. compounded by quite a few injuries to key players… take away the fact they are Scunnys biggest rival n purely on a footballing basis i would rather put money on them to go down than up.

Big parties in Codsville tonight as the new roof is finished on BP shed even though the roofers got “battered” by the summer rain.

Bearing in mind DH held circa 98% of the draw tickets image the uproar announcing he had won every prize..

I do agree though the people that bought a share should have been informed re any draw result or delay as SST suggested may be the case.

    Codheads relegated

I wouldn’t be lumping on at those odds. Too much going on that could derail the season IMO

Very sensible advice SST.. im finding the bookies odds on SUFC a tad strange bearing in mind the current limbo the club is in .. so many permutations that could change things massively…plus there are some very decent teams in NLN that should not be taken lightly.

    ‘or pay some salaries even.’

Not been verified whether they’ve been paid yet or not

i was just being naughty DM …. im sure if the salaries have NOT been paid this news would have filtered out by now , saying that he titbit re Ogle actually really really wanting to go to Oldham has been kept well hidden hasnt it.

BTW your 0-0 for Tamworth wont be far off
