I think Beestin will play but hopefully not at left back.
McAlinden will play their I expect. Scales will likely be the one to make way for Beestin. It would be Clunan if I was picking the team.
MKI … I was torn between Beestin and Law / Scales so if Mcalinden plays left back add Beestin to my bench or start Beestin for ???? … some tough decisions for JD knowing honestly his job is on the line over the next 1 possibly 2 fixtures.
Im going for 2-1 also Rene .. but to Boston.

The hand of god goal and Lampards goal against Germany i think are obvious notables for VAR but the game got along just fine before VAR was introduced and has it stopped bad refereeing decisions and dodgy goals NOT REALLY..
Im all for goal line tech but for me VAR offers few positives and is spoiling the game on numerous fronts.
I VOTE SCRAP IT
there was nowt wrong with the game ..
VAR is Shit
END OV

Shame for the fans? What fans? 500 die-hards?
Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead has a population of around 200,000 yet home attendances are between 600 and 1,000. 879 v Chesterfield earlier this month. Hello!
So only 0.5% of the population can be arsed to go along. They’re all Mags anyway. Sooner pull on their black and white striped shirts and spend Saturday afternoon in the pub than pay to go to the International Stadium.
Proper Mickey Mouse club!
Thats bad comment (maybe a tad bias i dont know) Gateshead obviously have a way better football team than most in the league above the mighty Iron .. as a football team they deserve the right to progress regardless how many fans they have ..
Boo Boo the local Council.. who ever it iz
Won’t we have the same problem when we next win promotion or make the playoffs from division 1.
I hope to still be around to see the div 1 bit ..
twas indeed a blooming awful pass by Butterfeild
If only that Coventry player took a size 8 boot instead of 9 .. Man U very very lucky thanks to VAR.
Reading what the Notts Forest boss said the ref yesterday is a Luton fan :) and having watched the incidents he mentioned it appears Forest were stitched up like a kipper.
Sheffield Utd came out against it, so it’s not all.
Possibly cos being a yoyo club whose string has broken they may well be in L1 within the next few seasons.

Dear Marjorie
i dont want to sound like a doom n gloom ball bag but i honestly do not have a good feeling about these play offs , cant say why im not as optimistic as most other fans seem to be… i dont think there are any favourites in these types of winner takes all fixtures as the Cods proved getting out the NL as they did.
It really would be a fantastic way to end a roller coaster few months when the club so so close to being gone but dark thoughts re inconsistent spells strange tactics , the old chestnut about us not turning up for big games AND TERRIBLE OFFICIALS are swaying me to predict it wont be our year despite being at GPAA… OBVIOUSLY I HOPE IM WRONG
Basically ITS A LOTTERY and we have one of 6 willy wonka tickets.
Yours Worried Iron fan

BREAKING NEWS re tickets for Saturday..
Thanks Rene .. im getting to that page ok but there isnt a game menu to click on.
struggling to find a commentary link today for some reason .. please can anyone assist.
TIA
be interesting to see JDs starting line up and bench today .. he didnt give much away in his pre match interview.
I hoping for a strong performance and win today NO INJURIES OR DAFT RED CARDS is imperative , saying that my prediction is 1-1
I think the kick would have been retaken if Elliott hadn’t scored. Keeper almost halfway to Elliott when he took it!
Defenders reaction when he clearly fouled Pugh was amusing.a tin pot cup Cass but yes but whose to say the ref is not a dick like SMT ?? the keeper was ridicously off his line almost pub league like
Match action from Spalding at Lincoln … btw i thought keepers had to stay on their goal line until the ball is struck ..DONT THEY ?? their rather rotund baldy guy keeper must of forgot to read bit in the rule book.

Another club on the way back are former FLC Macclesfield FC (then Town) ..they are in the NPLplay offs and their home attendances are crazy for that level 3-4000
National League rules, not allowed to go on sale until opponent is known. Not that difficult to comprehend.
Indeed BLT .. rules are rules ..
honouring your name i shall now be having big BTL breakfast in the Brick House or Irish Clock pub Udon thani tomorrow …after all we are still celebrating the Sonkhrang water festival Thai New Year here.
any news ??
long covid 555 MY ARSE ..COMORN ffs , Beestin looks crackin in CMD
iM hoping Corbet will be fit him n DWH are great …Kelly if fit in for Denton
JD a huge player pool to choose from
it would be a best to pre sale tickets n leave the opponent name blank surely .. it aint rocket science. open upthe away end and give away supporters another section, the bannered area ? to put pressure on their keeper both halves .. lets be reet how many withh Alfreton ,Curzon or SMT SS
bring >>Is Fitz that decent keeper? He frightens me to death at times and he’s made a lot of blunders considering the poor teams we’ve played against, other times he’s top draw don’t know what to make of him.
Yep as good as Fitz is hes prone to the od dropped bollock .. would hate it to be in a big game lke the playoffs ..play the new Glangley for Spalding
Play him at Gloucester!
and in the Lincs cup final.
the 2 injuries were a real dampener on a day when Scunny cruised to win against a very very poor side.
Ive been whinging to give Corbet a start as really rated him and though he was just the kind of player DW needs around him .. why Corbet even came out for the second half is strange and obviously having to play Roberts and Butterfield for the full game was also risky.
Waiting to hear re how serious the injuries to Denton and Corbet are but im guessing both their seasons may be over.
Form has been good in recent weeks but saying that played some really poor sides and with the likes of Brackley, Chorley etc waiting im hoping we can turn up against a much stiffer adversary…we shouldnt forget most of the current top 8 clubs have already beat us this season.
Another great attendance well done to all.

surely we do need some Keeper cover even this late in the season n playoffs .. ??
OHara was an excellent keeper btw ..
Promotion (or not) is surely the key. Achieve that and it’s inconceivable that Dean could be sacked, who would come to a club that sacks a promotion winning manager? Only the terminally thick or unemployable. IFA has the right idea about any new contract for Jimmy, 6 month maximum or a rolling monthly if we can get away with it.
I have no qualms about JD being manager next year if promotion is achieved .. BUT .. the jury must be still out has to he would get on in the NL .. hence forth as any contract offered for next season by the board must be really well thought out…based on the employment laws , i say that as i may be an overweight beer loving Scunny fan from afar but i do know how employment law and termination clauses within the law here which are roughly based on UK law.
Suffice to say
playoff loss JD is toast
Promotion will see JD as our manager next season 99% as Cass says .. then anything could happen depending on the budget and who stays or jumps HMS SUFCheart 3-1 Scunny
Head 1-1
Att 4,827Can’t see Dean being in charge next season.
DM , IMO Anything other than promotion and JD is toast … if the Iron do go up i would bet my favorite perfectly formed right testicle (much nicer than the left) the board will keep him on as manager all be it on a well written contract favoring the club if he needs removing.
WGs i wished i shared your optimism
I know they need a win but they’re a poor side, 20th in the form table and lost the last 3. I think confidence will be high after the comeback against Hereford and we real strength in depth now all the players are nearly fit.
Hope you are correct WGs and second spot is sealed come Saturday 5pm
Beware the Spartans …
