Currently a poll on the SUFC Fans face book page

    Jimmy IN or Jimmy OUT

I did earlier guessimate IMO the fan base was split roughly 50/50

Circa 300 votes in the first hour and as it stands .. IN 58% OUT 42% (not overly inspiring and or brimming with confidence in our manager for next season are we , im also guessing that particular FB page group is erring on the side of pro JD.

Never read anything remotely bad about Mr Sharp on here or elsewhere for that matter.

Despite at one point openly backing Hilton (and Herbert) Mr Elliot has done very well to slip into the position he finds himself … a role in the BovD via back door or front with or without chucking in any personal funds hes areal asset as the real directors do need some one to make the tea, choose biscuits and hoover up at meetings…

good point I64 .. ive not heard anyone even the most die hard JD fan say he should stay cos hes a good manager.. only he deserves a chance and he is passionate and loves the club .. gimme a competent manager who can deliver and stop the negatives you mention any day.

We need to get behind Jimmy and what ever team is left to play with. Why are we blaming the manager all the time. Many teams raised their game as playing Scunny was like a cup final for them. Yes we have to get over it but getting rid of Jimmy will not help and as said by others which wonder coach will want to manage a NLN team.
Let’s stick with what we have. We achieved 2nd place and only lost out due to the lottery of penalties

DF i have no problem in getting behind JD if thats the way the BoVd want to go… im guessing if there was a poll the SUFC fan base would be pretty much a 50/50 split on sticking JD with or not renewing his contract, in a ruthless world the club should get rid IMO but i believe they wont due to 50% of the fans seemingly happy with Jd and some lobbying from the likes of Elliot to keep him .. Michelle Harness is obviously a legend and excellent businesswoman but i dont think she is ruthless enough to not renew his contract now ..but come mid next season and we are at best mid table with low attendances will the board sack him then and have to pay him off.???

For the most part as commented by others the football was pretty dire we only did well against the cannon fodder also rans of the league when coming up against the better sides we struggled.

JDs Team selection and in game subs and tactics were very iffy on numerous occasions

Next season will be way harder for JD to succeed with more than likely a weaker squad.

I like the idea of a clean slate for next season getting rid of any last traces of Hilton and trimming the likes of the bullet dodger Muzzy.

Im sure all will become clearer in the coming days n weeks.

There’s going to be some disappointed people on here, myself included.
    See you next season Jimmy.

    Sound bloody ominous SNOT ..

As spouted a few weeks ago by Mr Elliot the board room tea boy..

Next season im sure Scunny will be one of the favourites ..one of a few

Losers of the play off final Boston or Brackley
    Chester
    Chorley

But if MACCLESFIELD TOWN are promoted they will be right up there.

Our best chance was this season and try to avoid relegation in the NL next alas not to be and IMO it will be way way harder next season.

FWI i predict with JD next season as it seems he will be offered a new deal it will mid table to low play off at best.. i can see 3 to 5 seasons in NLN now..hopefully im wrong.

Noticeable: Zero mention of Simon Elliott in Michelle’s singling people out for being crucial to saving the club.

Noticeable: Simon Elliott’s name being added in to this article hours AFTER it was originally published.

Indeed i noticed the addition of Elliots name post publishing…obviously after a few hasty phone calls, there are both articles openly kicking about social media with n without.

I wonder if Mr Hilton has read it ???

Clean slate, new manager and coaching staff. Oh and hopefully an away day at Scarborough!

Yep i like the idea of a clean slate clearing out the last sniff of anything tied to Hilton which obviously includes JD… but cant see it happening

Like to see Butler stay in some capacity but Muzzy time must be up and remind me again what Plummer actually does ??

Team wise..i think weve just got to let nature take its course as so many out of contract and those still under may want a move or be bought so too difficult to even guess at any possible line up that could form the back bone of a decent side.

Fixture wise ..a nice tasty home game to KO the season with a big crowd.

Hope the fans stick by the club who ever remains .. be great to have a 4k plus average and big numbers traveling as this season.

Two wishes (but wont happen).. better referees absolutely garbage all season and and count on one had how many have had good games.
    also
this “well at least we still have a club” mentality , reading the Athletic article brings it home just how bad things were but it being thrown in every argument is tedious ..lets look forward not back ..

Swan Hilton have gone thank the Lord , the club is in good hands of people who care and GP is safe all we need to do its get it right on the pitch and the future is bright.

We can’t just give up because of a poor manager surely? I fear we’ll struggle with Jimmy and a reduced budget, but the club will hopefully outlast him. If he is to continue, it would surely have to be a rolling contract. The fans won’t accept deterioration and more excuses.

As mentioned previously IMO JD will be Scunny manager at least for the start and first quarter .. therefore any contract should be on a rolling monthly basis alas what sort of confidence message would this instill in the whole group…. save a few quid by being better inn the loan market and contracts of employed players at all cost avoid the injury prone and agents …oh also binning Plummer n Muzzy would be my first job.

As a footnote after reading the Athletic article it sheds more light on the why the damaging drop in form post New Year that cost us any chance of the title.

Heard today like ya do he’s being offered a new contract, source Shrimptons dad via third party now fourth.
The crap performances didn’t just start from Xmas, its being most of the season away, I understand that when your not there a draw at Alfreton with ten men for 80 mins the same at Chorley and Boston would seem ok but it wasn’t, failing to breakdown Curzon and not even picking a point up there, we were shite. Did Jimmy learn and adjust anything all season and all our answers are the same no, bloody egos of football managers we’ve had em all Wilcox, Cox, Hill and now Dean they went and you should to Jimmy.

A while back i do recall Elliot saying re JD quote “Hes going nowhere” and i would be very surprised if he isnt Scunny manager next season.

… the risk is getting off to a bad start attendances dropping like a stone the off loading JD replacing him with someone who will be working with players he hasnt chosen.

You’d have to assume the Board aren’t idiots and will have already thought of this.

Of course .. but im also of the opinion there will be some Board members hell bent on keeping JD (Mr Elliot for one) so expecting strong lobbying to get it over the line.

    My opinion

    Should it happen .. yes

    Will it happen .. no

Not sure how it will work contractually but im predicting JD will be given at the very least the first quarter of next season so 10 – 12 games and depending how these pan out take it from there.

The risk is getting off to a bad start attendances dropping like a stone the off loading JD replacing him with someone who will be working with players he hasnt chosen.

Time will tell , not an easy one for the SUFC BovD as im guessing like the fan base some will be split on the issue.

The Board will feel that – in the end – finishing second and being a mere kick or two away from the Play Off final is a more than reasonable achievement during what has been a very dramatic season off the field and around the club. Dean will be given another season at the helm.

Sadly i can see this happening ..

This all depends,of course, if the Elliott-Dean Bromance can pass the next board meeting..

Im sure Mr Elliot will be lobbying for JD to be given more time ..

We looked a poor team yesterday.
Seemed to be only Clunan in midfield.
Left side was totally non existent.
Beestin completely wasted on the left.
Bench was truly awful compared to there’s.

    Best team won.

    Totally agree

Totally disjointed line up and performance.

Corbett has looked great with Whall he was missed and why waste a sub space on Langley was Fitz carrying an injury ? ..i thought maybe being 6’8 Langley was jds shoot out secret weapon alas NO.

When Hilton brought in JD his mandate was promotion or bust .. he is a really nice guy passionate about the club and fans but he failed so he should go.

IMO next season will be harder than this and with a whole new squad and JDs replacement needs to be brought in ASAP ..IF its gonna happen at all.

Any Ironbru members got any names of his replacement ??? my memory keeps drifting back the Admiral Nelson but im sure there are numerous others out there who would consider the challenge.

No the final will be at Brackley or Chorley. Both finished higher in the league than Boston.

Neither will be as soft a touch as we were.

Nowt ner truer than that MK .. a low level performance in many ways from the team sheet coming out to the last pen .. so sad on such a big occasion.

Sounds to me like its gonna be chaos due to these road closures, as mentioned earlier for 99% of fans it will be fine alas the 1% of testosterone bubbling drunks from both sides can and probably will cause issiues (especially after final whistle) if fans are allowed to mix openly on a trudge back to their cars.
Could well see the Boston fans being held back which may cause more irritation depending on the final score.
Many moons ago i lived in Gunness and walked down the A18 for home games at GP .. before that thumbed it into to town early morning for a few beers before games at TOSG…nowadays i would use my helicopter !!

Seems odd having the band on so late with the club advising fans to go in the ground early The Dominos should be on 12 noon IMO.

Noted the Chorley v Curzon game also ended 0-0 and went to pens … theres a theme forming here that needs breaking this Saturday.
