I jokingly thought if we sign no more then Swann was right. As each day passes that joke could turn into reality. It would be hard to believe with any other owner but this shower does take some beating.

We’ll see what the next week or two bring.
No more players in and Swann is without doubt running the club into the ground to develop. The terms of the lease would presumably only be valid should the club exist.

The last day in the diary for at least one signing would be 1st July. Contracts expired and free agents so maybe Swann meant this date rather than promising and not delivering – although his tenure is full of empty promises and fall outs. Let’s see what Thursday brings – nothing in before then with preseason games starting less than 1 week after would make a mockery of his continued whine about last season’s first 10 games being our pre-season.
The squad will not be able to fulfil its fixtures very early into next season without at least 5 signings.

The squad isn’t good enough for NL north

Agree with the signings still needed. The lack of any snippets of info about incomings is worrying
checking the link for league two transfers; we’re one of about 4 clubs to get one or less in. The issue is the other clubs are already doing well or like Rochdale have come from league one however none of these clubs has seen a released list like ours.
Whatever way you look at it we are in a pool of one of clubs in the shit.

Burley 23 years ago the last Scottish goal in a tournament?
add Oldham to that, Clarke and McGahey signed. Both injury prone but McGahey if fit is best defender in division. Clarke I think has had his time
The Chairman has given up or had his spending curtailed by the powers that be so how do we know other signings are coming? Slocombe a maybe – no other sniff of a rumour – even by our recent dreadful close seasons we used to have one or two names
bounced about. As unimaginable that is with each passing day it comes into focus
I guess that’s why they’ve been pushing the season tickets hard – legal bills to pay!
Just signed the family up.
That twitter feed is highly sensitive and being controlled by the family they don’t like adverse challenge. This challenge gets you banned for comments which are usually ok on other clubs sites even if they disagree. If the comment was discriminatory or offensive in any way then maybe there was good cause but like others have said its hard to gauge the severity without knowing the details.
If it was a ‘max bell’ type challenge then you know what to expect!
Nothing happening this week. Chief Scout has his Sports Day and then trip to lightwater valley

Maybe it is just a microcosm of all things SUFC
Dwindling participation, poor/absent management which leads to very poor content on show so you’re just left with people who cannot wait to take their seat and boo as loudly as possible.
Relegation. Hope for a turnaround like other occasions but I fear we are in a perfect storm of useless manager and hopeless chairman.

If people get more triggered by an anti-racist gesture than racism what does that say about them?
If people get more triggered with wokism than racism what does that say about them?
Multimillionaire footballers are not doing it to support some faux Marxist policy dreamt up by the daily heil and lapped up by the gammons.
Taking the knee is no more political than signing Rule Britannia, God save the queen, (what about No Surrender or the other guff that they sing). Let’s face it we have had more to boo over the years than footballers showing solidarity with those who wish to be treated as equals.
When you listen to the James OBrien interview it goes to show that when you delve into it the counter argument basically fell flat and it does become hard to offer an argument without appearing just a little bit racist.
Didn’t he go to Burton Albion?
I do find Swann’s comments about Wharton running the club like a hobby amusing.
We have an individual so ill-suited to be a football chairman that he is not fit to clean Wharton’s shoes.
He reminds me of the boy who is given £20 spending money from his mother for his 2 weeks holiday and spends it all on the first day on fizz bombs then sulks and moans because he has no money left to spend – only this time he blames fans/Covid/council/developers/contractors/max bell/ Telegraph
So what has been achieved?
An asset strip
A depleted squad
A closed/inward looking family board
A disdain for the fans
Some good entertaining games about 5 years ago at Alexander’s height but outweighed by the utter dross of the last 3 years(I am aware how many fizz bombs £20 would buy!)

When footballing people use to recommend players……
some we won some we didn’t, Toney has looked class all season so well deserved, the other two don’t think played too much part in it.
Last working day in May – salivating at the prospect of a tsunami of players coming into the building.
The whole idea was getting them in so we didn’t have our pre-season in the actual season – which is what the useless one kept banging on about, that and Covid.
According to Iron Bru it doesn’t factor in first team appearances – but I doubt this very much. You can’t tell me a youth with 15 first team apps goes for the same as one with one. Any tribunal would consider this a factor
We signed up to the pace energy excitement philosophy a year ago and we can’t have more than 10 failed promises a season. So as much as the Chairman would like to spout some more guff he can’t at the minute – we just need to be patient

I am still unsure about Spence and Beestin to be honest. Spence keeps it simple – which means passing back – but he sure as hell slows the play down most of the time. Not a patch on Dawson or Bishop, never will be. One good game in ten. Beestin similar – some of his passing was beyond dreadful – basic stuff. Probably one good game in five for Beestin but with those two in the centre it will be more of the same next year
Remember how Bishop and Dawson used to almost referee the game, in the ear all the time, marshalling the players making sure the ref was on their side. Spence is quiet unassuming quite weak on the ball.
Beestin has more scope to
improve playing with the right character. Spence is extremely limited in his ability1 user thanked author for this post.
Great signing for them.
Fair play to those getting season tickets. There is clear correlation between falling quality, dropping through the leagues and the marketability of the club. There will still be 200/300 season ticket holders if we drop to 8/9th tier the problem is the club are trying to sell these tickets under a cloud of asset stripping, squad disintegration, incompetent management of the club and a general feeling of disenfranchisement of the fans perpetuated by the reckless actions if the Chairman. Some fans will never feel this but majority others will.
The latest promise from the Chairman that we will have the players in place by the end of May – well let’s just see how the latest promise goes….. the past records of promise keeping is nothing short of pathetic – for whatever reason.
I won’t and haven’t had a season ticket for 3 years now – my boys just got bored and just don’t want to go – I have also bribed with hot chocolate and cake from Costa’s but the fare on offer has been pretty poor for a good while now (the footy!) I’ll select certain games if and when I can. Logistically its sometimes impossible.

both offered to allow Scunny to command a fee. Doubt either will be here in a few weeks

Isn’t Shrimptom a midfielder?
If you showed a bookie those players and then ask for the odds for League 2 champions you would get a very good price.
That team would struggle National League North

The chief scout is doing his GCSE’s so it will be next week

If Watson is number one for any length of time next season we will be relegated.

Wow – there are plans to build and develop in the coming months (repeat ad nauseam).
The take I got from this drivel is the ACV isn’t what it seems (according to Swann) and only lasts for 6 weeks so nothing for him to be concerned about – however he will still block it because that’s the kind of inclusive business he is running for the community.
He used to end his statements with ‘Up the Iron’ now it’s buy some meat, get some beer give me some money in whatever form you can because I don’t really care about it but if you want a striker then give me some money so my son can ask his agent mate if he’s got anybody with less than two hernias
I’s like to know who buys into this consistent message?
