You also have the problem that Swann thinks these players are good. Said it several times in the press – beyond all football logic that you can think these players are any good.
Swann’s tenure can be summed up in two quotes from the board
‘Morons’
‘pace energy excitement’Contempt and incompetence in equal measure.
Recruitment policy by the 21 yr old (non footballing) son of the Chairman and who picks players his agent mate tells him – this will point to the real reason we’re in this mess.
If Keith can play any sort of tune out of these rusty instruments then he deserves a 5 year contract and the freedom of Scunthorpe

…and rescued 1 point from losing positions
How many records Swann has on his tenure is staggering – and I’m not talking good records.
Poor old Keith

Well this contradicts everything Swann has said – who would have thought that.

Jarvis is pants – runs fancy but touch, control and understanding are completely missing.
Anybody else would’ve scored that – and I would include KDT in that

He came across well – as you would expect a manager of his ilk to. If the words turn into the actions he is hoping for then dare I say it – we’ll be safe. He just needs to get to January with a 2 or 3 wins and then you would hope he has already identified players – he’ll want defensive cover and wide men? A striker would be a bonus because we are a bit light up front
O’Neill had a try out for the dog and duck – they didn’t want him, they were looking for a footballer apparently…

I agree Ferrite – I see nothing in him to suggest he would make it in the higher leagues – but then I thought Charlie Goode was a donkey so I’m fairly consistent at getting stuff wrong!

Aren’t the season ticket holders counted in the attendance irrespective of their attendance? If so it seems strange that they are part of the missing 1,000 and so COVID being cited as the reason (a very convenient truth for Swann) seems a bit wide of the mark.
Cox did mention that they have had offers for Loft prior to Transfer Window closing ( and just before he broke his face) – one could take from that, that interest is still there from one or two. Time will tell I guess in January we will see what substance there is to it. Cox had many faults but he always spoke openly about stuff like that
Loft swap deal maybe? Had interest already in Loft and maybe he has started to drift with recent performances
Swann panicked when people started taking action (gategate) – he then issued weasly words – said the right things to Irontrust and some other group members who took it all in good faith (because that always works with Swann). The threat of further protest dissipated and Swann has played most people. As one of the members said – actions are what he should be judged on. He’s been inactive on these promises for a good while now

Ironfromafar pretty much sums it up. The entertainment value is the lowest in my time (40years). These last 4 years are the purse strings and wrong decisions from the Chairman. Historians will look back on the time the Chairman got rid of the scouting set up and then – as his family has a stranglehold on the board appointed his young son – no competence, no experience, no basis in reality to this decision – and then tried to get the manager to take the flack. This led to player purchase by agency friend or indeed a round of golf – utter utter incompetence.

Mick, that is the narrative the chairman has used several times now. If the fans don’t come back then the existence of the club is under threat. Funny how all these clubs you mention which have gone to the wall – how many went there through fan behaviour or how many went there through scandalous chairmanship – this should never be on the fans.

New Chairman – or at least a Chairman who follows through with what he says he will do rather than issue empty words for those gullible enough to lap it up and let him off.
….oh and start winning – that helps

We had more shots
on our own goal than we did the oppositions so he’s got something to work with.4 users thanked author for this post.
Who believes Cox persuaded Swann to get Swann junior in? It’s all
nonsense. Swann wanted Swann in so they can all play football manager together.1 user thanked author for this post.
No chance. He took over FGR on an interim basis with the club doing really well – great team spirit and competent players – so something to work with. Here we have a hotchpotch of players from the average to the downright should never play football again even in their backyard types. Throw into the mix a disinterested chairman and we should not be anywhere near JB (nothing against him but it won’t work)
As sentimental as it is – and unlikely to happen – I agree. This would put a significant number on the gate almost immediately. This could also energise the squad set them up better and Swann can say he did what the fans wanted. It just won’t happen

I heard the same Les – quite astonishing – also referred to out of business not just out of the league. Also said he would put money in so the club would not get relegated – so clear messaging once again

Cox had enough chances – he was woefully woefully short of anything near competent – even his interviews, whilst refreshing (!) were just soundbites because he lacked the basic football intelligence to talk in more depth about things, my lads….. channels….. pass and move….. trained well… tired legs/leggy. It was all bollocks in the end – he just couldn’t do the job.
And I’m not absolving Swann of the shitshow we find ourselves in. Its just another bad choice from somebody equally lost in football

His last radio interview with Matt Dean he said within a month they would be starting work. Now I know Swann has never let us down before with dates/deadlines
so I was just puzzled…4 users thanked author for this post.
Didn’t Swann say he would be starting work in a month on the ground? the slip road?

Thinking something more dynamic like Triple Sumo or Pork Peye – something Marvel can get on board with
He is utterly clueless – an embarrassment to the club and to football managers everywhere.
On another topic I’ve seen Deadpool at more games than our own superhero chairman (insert suggestion for name)

They must have a database of online ticket transactions so have emails of most of the non-season ticket holders. That should be the next round of surveys / getting the casual fan back. I can tell you now Swann won’t like the feedback one bit

Maybe Beestin’s turn on the naughty step – Cox has a habit of alienating individuals. O’Malley, Rowe, Pugh, Eisa, McAtee, They can’t all be wrong and our worst ever manager right
1 user thanked author for this post.
This match told me one thing – the players,
on their day, could stay up.
It also tells me that they would do this in spite of the manager not because of. Cox nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with the subs.
Hippolyte actually having a good game –
which he does about one time in twenty so let him saviour it.Crawley were poor yesterday and any other manager would’ve run out 3-0 winners with a lot to spare. We won’t get many teams that were as poor as Crawley but we only need two teams worse than us.
Colchester away is a great game to keep the
run going and bag the first away win. What makes Cox management worse is Pugh – can become a superb player and no coincidence we play well with him in the side.
I recall Cox statement about wanting Pugh to be right back!! The guy bossed centre mid today

Compared to Nick Daws – Cox has had a shed load of games 67 compared to 10/15 for Daws
I would also play a 4-3-2-1 with Loft and Jarvis behind Scrimshaw -might draw defenders out and creat space or draw midfielders back and create space for Beestin.
Hell nothing else is working -
