As a businessman I don’t think Swann could have done a worse job, aside from admin/liquidation he has got every single thing wrong. I think if you took a chimp out of the jungle and gave him the role he would’ve got one thing right.

Relegation. Hope for a turnaround like other occasions but I fear we are in a perfect storm of useless manager and hopeless chairman.
The most upset I have been for a prediction coming to reality. All the posters saw it and those that didn’t were hoping for something positive which cannot be faulted. Heartbreaking
Next season 18th

Feeney tries a lot and can’t fault it but I think he’s just run out of steam which is a shame
I agree Les, the embargo hamstrung us, the constraints were serious enough to prevent KH getting any of his choices and he made do. Oldham had bigger revenues so could be more flexible and get better players – our chairman who has yet to fulfil one promise said we were ok with the constraints – clearly that was BS. KH was dealt a crap hand but part of me thinks he’s just given up. I will reiterate though our plight is only down to one man and his family.

back to OP, i think it is deeper than that Les. You can get through most games where 2 or 3 are having a poor game. I believe none of the squad are good enough however the youngsters can develop and learn but as Tom Newey pointed out it does no good playing full matches for the young ones. We have a set of really poor players who have been consistently poor. We wouldn’t be relegated if only 2 or 3 are bad. We’ve tried 43 different players and the recruitment has been disgraceful. KH also appears to have given up on tactics and is just throwing players at the pitch and seeing what lands. We have 7-8 not up to it every match and the rest made up of youngsters who cannot learn purely because of the circumstances that are thrust upon them.

It was the most organised we have been on the pitch all season we should start with them next game.

The worrying thing is that for several years we are continually replacing players and every player is worse than the previous, this means that people see previous players in a better light when really they were crap but we somehow unearth worse footballers.
43 players used this season (nearly 4 full teams – FGR used 19) and each time the quality drops slightly. Nuthall is an example among many. None of this squad is any good, none.Watson won’t be here next year so why not play some other keeper – they won’t be any worse.
Minus 50 goal difference now close to the record surely
If he left a good job at Peterborough to become lickspittle for a failing business owner then I would have given him more credit than I should, but for now he has credit in the bank.

It would be an entirely predictable response from the Swann camp to say fan protest scuppers potential new owners. Or that, should no protests take place, they have withdrawn interest without formally submitting one.
It’s convenient either way.
I stand to be corrected but we’ve been here before.
I will say I did like LT statement, whatever constraints he is working under he has the club at heart.
i would take a 12th placed finish
We need to sort out the final third – we remain clueless in the final third – just no clue what to do.
I noticed when we stole the ball in midfield,
being 1-0 down and we just stopped. No movement no forward momentum they just had no idea.
Need Paul Hayes in to sort out the attack because Hill hasn’t a clue about attacking football2 users thanked author for this post.
ground £5m loss £1m profit £4m, but where is the EFL loan? does that appear on here will it be in next year’s accounts? I don’t know the timeline for that loan – assume it will be next year
that’s a relief

I for one will miss UTI99’s balanced view of the world.

The more matches Hill loses the more the focus turns sightly away from Swann – its ideal for him. Hill was really constrained by the EFl loan, I doubt the players he got were his 1,2,3rd choice – they were just what’s left. However…..
You can all see the scenario, Hill builds the team, fails and we’re near the foot of the table when Swann gets rid – and the new manager has to work with the same players. if, and its a huge ‘if’ Hill is allowed to buy his own players then its crucial he gets it right because on stats alone he is the worst manager we’ve ever had but very little is on him – I just wish he would change the crap he comes out with on interview
high on alcohol, ffs how did you get here from Victorian England?

For the sake of SUFC I hope you’re onto something Les.
Good idea, peaceful and meaningful

Mansfield probably better as I think Stevenage is a grass roots day (ironic as this will see us relegated, if not before)
I’m up for a protest at Stevenage match.

He’s been busy defending Russian attacks and denazification
Normally I’d argue the point about away fans but its not even the biggest news of the night. It didn’t appear he was attacking a steward but I wasn’t close enough to determine
Home fans handcuffed by stewards, one decent bloke on the board (Neil aside) resigns. It really is very worrying for the future of this club

The guy has spent enough money to cripple the club, taken the assets in return and consigned us to non league – all the while coming out with soundbites about best interests of the club and its COVID’s fault, its the stay away fans fault the squad is good enough just had some bad luck. He can’t be bothered to turn up anymore – he’s talking to three or four parties (well which is it? Its not hard to know whether its three or four). He has single handedly ruined a community asset banned the local press, banned others, threatened fans with legal action – but the podcasts and interviews would suggest he’s always doing the best for the club – but taking out an EFL loan to allow it to survive. He shouldn’t be anywhere near a football club, I’ve no idea how his casino is going or the James Bond bar, or his horses but quite frankly I just want to feel an attachment to the club which he has single handedly removed from me and over 1,000 others – directly or indirectly. But he will tell you its a small minority of fans who feel like me – it may well be from those left in the ground but I doubt it.

I’m going with a few of us as we have mates In Bristol – but just to say goodbye to league football, that might be it for me. Certainly not giving Swann another penny moving forward, cry all you like about affecting the squad/ability to compete – that’s on the Chairman who is a despicable human being

Its like being a minister in Kim Jon Il’s govt. The fat leader won’t listen to a word they say. Any other time I would applaud this and also applaud the choice as Neil clearly has passion and love for the club but I fear he will not be given the full facts and be treated with as much disdain as the rest of us fans.

I won’t be getting one – the simple fact is Swann states its for transfers/club budget – so I am expected to fund Will Swann’s HoR folly.
No chance
