I find this narrative weird, when the facebook group set up several migrated from here and it became the “anti bru” which was a pity ,Jason seems very bitter still as does Vim Fuego .I personally see as many chances to chat and share views with Iron fans we can get is a positive ,sadly they chose to make it about them Vs iron bru, once Hilton came the rhetoric ramped up and the abuse for this site and it’s admin went through the roof and was at times quite scarey .Even Awaywego saw how bad it became .The group admin not only allowed this to fester they ,especially that Tom encouraged it and deleted any comments to the contrary, when questioned about that he said he basically admitted he was deleting stuff he doesn’t agree with.

I’ve a mate who was a big Hilton Cheerleader on SUFG arguing with long term fans(He only started to be interested going to games a few years ago), Criticising Butler etc. However when we got promoted he was straight on the Butler/Harness bandwagon.

He’s now a Reform cheerleader on Facebook so he’s moved on to similar things..

So basically your mate is a populism supporter, yeah quite a lot thinking that way these days. Just an opinion but he might be better thinking through things himself and really looking at all angles before jumping on a bandwagon because others are doing the same thing.

You prepared to give Maison one last go is very noble and generous of you les, more proof for me to say thank goodness AB is manager and you aren’t les. I’m just being an honest ordinary fan here BTW.

Surely a piss poor start doesn’t include the late saves yesterday which a lot of fans are applauding him for? Don’t think you can have it both ways, we win our first three games and late saves by Maison against Tamworth and Sutton have allowed that to happen, always two sides to every story. Yes he’s made mistakes but they haven’t cost us games and yes his saves in two of those three games have enabled us to win, facts are facts, so far the facts support him as doing ok.

Well as AB said at the forum he has lots of advice from people who have lots of different opinions and they are absolutely entitled to them but in the end his opinion is the only one that matters. We shall see what transpires over the season regarding the team and Campbell in particular and what AB makes of it all.

Whilst we are winning or drawing most games and don’t go on a losing run with Maison getting the blame for some vital goals conceded then AB will give the lad every chance and quite right too IMO. He’s only ever going to learn by playing games and gaining experience and if he’s showing some errors then they can be worked on with the coaching staff. It’s not ideal but the budget is what it is and AB has made his choice so we just need to support the lad as much as possible, if changes in the future need to be made then AB will implement them if he deems it necessary.

Right got to go the women’s rugby is on,

    Eng 69-7 USA

Watched the first half, game was won by then, USA notoriously run out of steam the longer the game goes on, England just keep going. England are the best ladies rugby union team in the world currently and this competition being played over here is their best chance ever to win the World Cup again, go Roses.

As regarding the ” fiscal side” DM refers too , it may get pushed away in any real detail at a future forum, Michelle said on more than one occasion last night that maybe she was ” saying too much ” when answering questions about financial matters and the CCJ regarding the ” washing machine saga “. I must say the amounts being payed out on a monthly basis on those washing machines sounded absolutely ga ga.., know wonder we aren’t financially sustainable yet if that is just one example of ridiculous spending.

Yeah I thought the forum was a refreshing change from the tripe Swann and Hilton served up in their time with the club, as for Matt and peoples eyes going up into their head when his name was mentioned last night. Well Matt was one of the main people involved in getting the fans fundraiser started when the club didn’t have a pot to piss in and players and staff were going unpaid, just a thought.

Just before my time as an Iron fan mablethorpe, I’m guessing injury ended his career for him to retire at 26?

Wonder if they have paid all the HMRC bill or done a Dodgy Dave and just paid enough off to get trading again. Will be an interesting few months for the club and their supporters, can see a few defeats looming on their horizons but at least they are back in business and the fans still have a club to follow.

BBC sport reckon Morecambe will play their first game this Saturday at home to Altrincham, wow that is fast, wonder if it’s five a side, lol. Best of luck to them as they look to rebuild their football club.

I know nothing about the situation apart from what you have revealed on here Awaywego and if it’s played out like you say then yes the club appear to have gone about things in a very underhand way and if so, why?

Unless the club makes a comment which it probably won’t it’s speculation as to why this has happened, perhaps clearing the way for the new food guy to expand into other areas? Who knows unless the facts are revealed.

I’m guessing the new manager will come at considerably less cost then Derek Adams, don’t think whoever is manager this season will be in a position to get them out of the inevitable relegation hole, it will be all about keeping costs down initially.

Man U’s keeper was fouled, not confirmed by VRS which shows how cr4p VRS can be.

He was not fouled. He was very weak and took his eye off the ball.

    He was quite blatently fouled

It was poor tactically on Man Utd’s part, they deployed Mason Mount as keeper cover against Saliba, Arsenals strongest player. No contest, Mount went walkabout and Saliba used his strength on the keeper to force the fumble, no foul IMO just Arsenal employing good tactics from their strongest player, good lesson for Man U’s ” marvellous coach ” to take on board.

Inappropriate with the number of suicide cases reported these days, if you were trying to extract some kind of humour from a desperate situation you have just shot yourself spectacularly in the foot, idiot.

Whilst wishing Morecambe and their fans all the very best for the future it’s pretty obvious that if they do start playing say in the next month that they will be nailed on for back to back relegations ( now which other team last did that, lol ). The main thing is they survive and start to slowly grow again as a football club, relegation is the least of their problems IMO.

Danny Wilson could stop a ball in midfield sending two opposition players in different directions at the same time, then set off and exploit the space they’d vacated, he was a brilliant footballer and far too good for us during his loan spell, great to watch though.

Absolutely nonsense Cliff, I’ve given Whitehall stick in the past but for me he turned a corner after last Xmas when he stepped up to being a proper nuisance striker and his contributions improved massively IMO. His type of game has it’s frustrating moments but his new two year deal shows his commitment to the Iron cause and I believe if Howe continues his early season form both him and Whitehall will be a formidable strike force. Whitehall’s shithousery and Howes energy could see them score lots of goals.

Yeah he dropped a bollock today, shit happens, I’m sure he’ll learn from it , looked like a concentration lapse because it was a basic error. Won the game comfortably and I won’t be going on about his mistake ad nauseam and I trust others won’t because there were a lot of positives from today’s win, including some good performances from new players Howe, Ewing and Horton, very satisfying first home game of the season.

Yeah Cass it’s called ” talking coach bollocks blues”, think Bob Dylan wrote a song about it, basically they give so many interviews they end up talking bollocks. You hear it in most Premier league manager interviews every week in the season.

Seen plenty of keepers flap at a couple of things then go on to have a decent enough game, it’s not a yardstick for me as to his overall ability. He’s a young keeper who’s been given a chance to nail down the position of number one at his club and he needs all the encouragement we can give him, all I’ve ever said is back the lad and give him a chance and it sounds like the travelling Iron support got behind him last Saturday which is brilliant to hear, long may it continue.

Decent band in their day till Steve Marriott got more then just his fingers burnt. One of the biggest lessons ever about the dangers of smoking.
