One of the reasons they don’t mic up Premiership refs live on air like rugby refs, the players could not take a bollocking without kicking off and hassling the official. Love watching and listening to rugby refs laying down the law and explaining very clearly why they have made a decision to the player concerned. Also note that a lot of the players still refer to the rugby ref as sir and some refs call players by their first names. The respect between players and rugby refs and players and Premiership refs is miles apart and sad to see. Also you don’t get many rugby coaches gobbing off on air of in the press after a game about how the referee had done. It’s chalk and cheese really, Premiership footballers have a lot of indiscipline that needs addressing but I will say that VAR interpretation needs to be addressed by the authorities aswell.

Salary cap was a way of trying to ensure clubs survive this desperate position the game and the world finds itself in. Hard to get clubs to stick to it and in an ideal world we don’t want it, the facts that the club’s themselves don’t want it speaks volumes about how they feel the game should be run. I still think some clubs will fold and I believe long term the game won’t want salary caps as a solution to the games problems, it’s the way our football system works and overall bigger clubs, who ultimately have the final say whether we like it or not, will get there own way. As for Man City being ” sterile “, hey it’s all about opinions and in my opinion Man City are a sensational side to watch, I absolutely love watching them play, as for 16 consecutive wins, cracking attacking play, massive goal difference and points clear at the top of our football pyramid with a game in hand on most of their challengers, well that speaks volumes to me about how good and IMO how entertaining they are.

Good points Stocky,let the fans take the blame for releasing the info is a good method of deflecting the heat from a contentious decision made by the board. The news would come out sooner or later so why sit on it and blame others but it’s typical of any management to blame others whilst deflecting the reality of their actions. In truth all we have is verbal protest, Swann owns the club lock stock and barrel and whilst we morally as fans are the heartbeat of the Iron, he holds all the cards. I’ve said good and bad things about the Swann period in charge of our club but he always comes across to me anyway on radio as being very plausible when discussing football issues but when pushed on ownership of club or direction of the club he soon becomes quite arrogant. I noticed his latest thing when questioned on Humberside about club issues is the ” well it’s always my fault isn’t it ” angle, as a form of defensive shield. Well actually Peter if you eventually sell us off for land development,clear your debts and run away, it will be your fault, your in charge.

Just more of the same as the last three games please, will obviously miss the ” Little Gem ” but he missed most of the victory over Colchester and who knows we just may get a ” VanVeen cameo ” off the bench to give us some more cheer. I think a point would be an excellent result down at Colchester, the guys have done great the last two games but a third inside a week is a big ask. Expect the last half hour to be a battle of affliction as the fatigue sets in, we are playing a good side who have slipped a little of late, they will be desperate to get back on track against us and prove a point to their manager and fans. That was a great result tonight so well done guys for a sterling effort, another clean sheet and Loft really showing what he can do with proper support. Guess the Colchester game was arranged a while back for this Friday but Saturday would have suited us better,hope its not a game too far but I’m sure the guys will give it a real go. Surprised Eisa has made it after the reports about his knee after the derby match, even Cox said it would be unlikely he would play, unless it was just bullshine after what Esia did to Vale last time out against them. Hope we aren’t looking at another McGahey situation after tonight’s game, that outcome was just bloody ridiculous and could easily have been avoided with sensible management.
