Here we go…
January 29, 2021 at 9:25 am #201900I think a point would be an excellent result down at Colchester, the guys have done great the last two games but a third inside a week is a big ask. Expect the last half hour to be a battle of affliction as the fatigue sets in, we are playing a good side who have slipped a little of late, they will be desperate to get back on track against us and prove a point to their manager and fans. Good luck guys.
January 29, 2021 at 9:54 am #201901Point would be a good result, 7 points in 6 days is excellent.
BUT! I really want to beat them after they robbed us at GP.

January 29, 2021 at 10:15 am #201902I’m just hoping the manager doesn’t think a point will be a good result and sets out to get one. It seldom works for us. I agree fitness/fatigue is likely to be a major problem.

January 29, 2021 at 10:26 am #201904I just hope we stick with the more positive formation of 4-4-2.
I understand some players may need to be rotated but Cox needs to work the players coming into the team into that formation and not overthink it and go to a 4-5-1 or 5-4-1

January 29, 2021 at 10:28 am #201905He’s got the use of five subs and it’s possible to rotate Beestin/Spence/Karacan and Eisa/Green/Hippolyte.
If he manages his team properly it’s do-able.

January 29, 2021 at 11:11 am #201911Loft is probably the one most likelyto need a breather after an hour or so.
Unless Turan has managed to work himself back into favour then why not give Dawson 20 minutes or so.At least the players have 8 dayes recovery time after this one.
January 29, 2021 at 11:55 am #201916Have a look at the Haysey goal againt Colchester on SUFC Twitter. Wouldn’t mind one of those tonight but not sure anybody likely to be playing has that ability.
January 29, 2021 at 12:14 pm #2019184 4 2 for me or if the use this 4 4 1 1 make sure the 2 ‘1’ ‘s operate close together.
Set up to play OUR game and go for the 3 points.

Me and my mate were at that one Cass, long old bus trip down, couple of beers before the game and that Paul Hayes gem was our reward, what a goal, what a player. I remember the Iron faithful crammed behind the goal at the opposite end singing and shouting their heads off. Happy days.
January 29, 2021 at 1:41 pm #201920Not expecting a great game tonight. Colchester wildly out of form and data shows they’re one of the worst teams in this division. We’re coming into form but looking tired at the minute. Still sneak a 1-0 win.
January 29, 2021 at 2:51 pm #201924Both sides will have played 3 games in 6 games so That excuse is nullified. We have big squad so smart rotation is key.
They’re in poor form and were fortunate to take the 3 points at GP- want to see Cox set up for the win.

Sorry should’ve added both teams will be feeling it which is why I think it will be a poor game.
January 29, 2021 at 3:24 pm #201934I am with Cass and Sanfran on this, I know that it will not happen, but Cox must go for three points tonight, we are playing a team that has not won a game in their last EIGHT matches, so why must some of our fans say that a draw will be a good result.
Three games in a week should be fine for professional players, and surely the manager and coaches have eased right back on training sessions, and it will be the same for both teams who have both played the 3 matches this week, I hope that young Loft is not left up front by himself, he cannot be expected to run his arse off like he had to during that second half on Tuesday, put him up front with another player, possibl a youngster who has been playing well in the under 23s, or Green could be a good move.

January 29, 2021 at 3:35 pm #201936Our track record against teams in a bad run isn’t good, surely it will end one day, we deserved to beat them at home so let’s hope Neil doesn’t go back to non working systems, though we didn’t concede against Vale we certainly didn’t have a shot at goal when we went into defence mode, and against Barrow we waited until we went behind.

We’ve got a big squad, we haven’t got a good squad. We’ve got a good team plus a few.
Beestin is the only one I’d want to see starting who didn’t on Tuesday. Brown if O’Malley is struggling but he’s just had a rest.
We’ve got 8 days off after tonight so weekend off and good recovery.
Loft is the only one who looked like he needs a rest but we have no one else who can do what he does.1 user thanked author for this post.
January 29, 2021 at 8:12 pm #201969Happy with the first half.
Want to see us test this young keeper though.
January 29, 2021 at 8:16 pm #201970What an awful pitch. Can you still be fined for failing to provide a playable surface? If so Colchester should be expecting one to come their way.
January 29, 2021 at 8:26 pm #201973Can you be find for turning up to a match late. Got to say am enjoying the colchester commentary though
January 29, 2021 at 8:27 pm #201974This guy and the expert whoever it is are good. Not a fan at all of the guy who took over for the last 20 mins of the first half.

January 29, 2021 at 9:31 pm #201981Onaraise excellent again.Did not think we could win without Keracan playing most of the game.Hope he’s not injured for long

January 29, 2021 at 9:32 pm #201983I’m sure there will be criticism from some with certain aspects of our game tonight but for me 3 wins, 6 goals ,3 clean sheets and 9 points in 7 days is worthy of 👏👏👏 well done guys, really well done.

January 29, 2021 at 9:34 pm #201984Outstanding. Manny is absolutely unbelievable at the back.

January 29, 2021 at 9:34 pm #201986Ref was singularly mediocre second half; first half had me reaching for the swearwords. (Not something which is all that common.) I gave him a 3 overall.
Great defensive performance and Howard showing good GK skills.
Sadly, all the wonderful hard graft on the other parts of the pitch was cancelled out by some truly dreadful retention of the ball. Can’t blame the pitch for that – they kept the ball far better than we did.
We deserved to score one goal – which we did.
They deserved to score zilch which they did.
3 points to us? – Fair result.1 user thanked author for this post.
January 29, 2021 at 9:51 pm #201990Well done guys, you played to win and sure got there, so 9 points in seven days has given us some reward for sticking with them.
The ref was pathetic and gave Colchester ererything he possibly could, and what he didn’t give them the two shite linesmen did.
I think that all Scunny players played very well, except Green who gave the ball away nearly every time he got it, so my ratings for the lads are:-
HOWARD—-7—-Did well and is looking a bit more safe.
brown–6—keeps getting booked and no need for it.
TAFT—6—Has added strength to the defence since he came..
ONARIASE—10—He was brilliant again, and played as perfect game as possible.
ROWE—8—Played very well and should be picked every match.
GILLIED—8—Again had a very good game.
GREEN—5—Lost or gave the ball away too many times.
BEESTIN—8—Again a very good match from him, controlled the link up well.
KARACAN.—6—Started the game well.
EISA—7—Abit hot and cold, but must play more often and get game time.
LOFT—7—Again never stopped working and is getting better each game.REF–4—Bloody terrible, very much a home ref and gave them everything, his linesmen were just as bloody bad.
COX—7—Got most things right, but still insist on defending a one goal lead, but credit to him for 9 points this week, I myself suggested bringing Green into the team tonight, but he was terrible and was rightly subbed.
Keep it going guys, you are doing well right now.

January 29, 2021 at 10:03 pm #201994Great result. Not a great performance but good enough.
Massive credit for 9 points in 6 days.Awful pitch and as said by a few already worse ref.
Everyone put a shift in but Manny was excellent.
Really hope Karacan isn’t badly injured.
Can’t wait to add Kev into this side.

January 29, 2021 at 10:25 pm #201997Happy to pretty much agree with you BS! You missed out Spence who also played well when he came on. Onariase was worth more than 10. It has been good to see them all working hard and playing as a team. Let’s hope we can build on a more reliable defence and attack a bit more in the next couple of games.
Ref was shocking, didn’t allow any tackles. I thought he was going to give a couple of penalties and there was nothing wrong with the tackle before Eisa “scored”.
