    Blyth Town I believe

Very good hope the lad progresses, he’s still very young and has a long way to go.

    Fishburn was released

Best of both worlds for him, he would have been paid up till the end of June but allowed to look for a club earlier, hope the lad gets sorted out he’s been given more time to do it.

It will be in place now, big pile of top soil currently covering part of the West Stand car park which I presume is what’s been removed during relaying. Pictures on the club Facebook page showed the old surface be removed several days back, I’m sure it will be a massive upgrade on last season’s farce of a surface. Relax Rene keep drinking you’ll be fine.

No home friendlies is spot on after last season’s pitch disaster, get it properly laid, seeded or whatever, get the maintenance plan in place and make sure the pitch is strong and in immaculate condition before the serious stuff starts. Don’t care about pre season games, just use them as a fitness and tactical exercise and hit the ground fully fit and running when our first league fixture kicks off. Pre season and the opposition you face is overrated IMO, just be ready to go.

Legend says about the rivalry between the Beach Boys and the Beatles that Brian Wilson, on hearing Sgt Peppers on its release done eight months after Pet Sounds, sent McCartney a telegram ( wow how old is that ) just saying ” we give up”. Great rivals but good pals also, Brian Wilson leaves behind a wonderful music legacy.

My brother and I as youngsters played Telstar on a comb with greaseproof paper folded over the comb then humming the tune through the paper. Yep I know sounds weird but it kinda worked, it was equally dreadful though.

‘Doubt anybody will be happy if Roberts needs to be replaced’

Some will be hysterical if Roberts leaves. Wailing and gnashing of teeth. Might even tempt 414 out of socials retirement with doom laden prophecies.

Oh no not that please, the longer 414 stays under his bridge the better, alternatively we could send the Big Billy Goat Gruff along just to warn him off.

Just going by the fact he’d played for a top six league two side last season DSGM, don’t know what his overall record is at Notts County, maybe give Campbell a chance?

I must admit that I wasn’t awfully struck on his penalty-taking.

If you recall les Whitehall’s first ever penalty for us at home was a shocker but he improved after that, I’m guessing Dec will be down the pecking order for penalty taking.

It’s all about stepping up isn’t it though, remember Dec will be stepping up two divisions, obviously we all want him to hit the ground running but patience amongst the fanbase could well be required.

More chance of signing Adam Ant

    Replacement for CR10?

Let’s hope he has a better first year injury wise with us, he’s coming with a history of serious injuries, hopefully all behind him now.

If Rene ever goes to a fancy dress party in naval uniform his alter ego will be Seaman Stains.

Adopting the nickname ‘the Iron’ because of a link to metal window frames seems a bit tenuous.

Is that the Braintree link? Wow that really is scraping the barrel, lol.

Always like the awards handed out to the ordinary Joe/ person, they are more important to me. The old lady 55 years as a lollipop lady seems more relevant than a well paid footballer/ celebrity. Nothing against Beckham he has been a marvellous player and ambassador for his country, his charity work is commendable but he’s in a position to do all that because of his wealth/ celebrity status he’s achieved through being a top professional but I expect that of people like him because of the the position they hold. The old dear who’s probably struggled through life just like the rest of us yet giving back something to her local community over a long period seems more worthy of an award but hey it’s just my opinion and congratulations to Beckham on his Knighthood.

I think Braintree were formed 1 year after us and have always had the name ‘The Iron’ . Could be an interesting legal case ahead because wasn’t Scunthorpe United at one time known as ‘The Knuts’ before changing its name ?

Maybe have a nationally important steelworks as primary employer in the town might just swing it for our team with that link being important to fans aswell as the club. Can’t remember the last steelworks in Braintree, when was that now, erm?……..

Trump saying Musk knew about the tax cut bill coming in and Musk says that isn’t true and it was announced late at night before the press could react to it’s content. Currently going through the house but if it clears that stage there is a good chance the Senate could sack it off with several Republican senators saying the increase to national debt will be abhorrent. Basically rich people get richer if it comes through ( very Trump) and millions of Americans will lose Medicare as a result. So what else is new, Trump is a serial liar and protector of the millionaire/billionaire class in the USA. The ordinary American will suffer as they will under this tariff nonsense yet a lot of his base are ordinary Americans, serves them right for being so dumb and gullible.

He makes a very good point about the lack of building taking place on these so called new villages that are meant to be springing up under this overall development. As for more accidents, well the lack of basic driving ability and lack of concentration is probably the main cause there, nothing knew about that, the amount of drivers that lack the basic knowledge and commonsense of how to negotiate a roundabout properly is astonishing, it’s basically lazy driving craft and technique.
