Underwhelming might be an over exaggeration?
We’ll get a shock when we come up against the NL teams if this is the standard / level of prep!
Sat, Jul 12th – Cleethorpes (A) – 2pm
Tue, Jul 15th – Crowle (A) – 7pm
Sat, Jul 19th – Gainsborough (A) – TBC
Sat, Aug 2nd – Worksop Town (A) – 3pmJune 5, 2025 at 11:23 am #305472Get fit, don’t get injured, don’t get sent off, exactly the same as every other pre-season matches whoever the opposition is.

June 5, 2025 at 1:43 pm #305473There will be at least one challenge throughout pre season, surely ?
June 5, 2025 at 2:12 pm #305475Just need to get an EFL side on the 26th and that’ll do.
Cleethorpes and Worksop two decent Saturday away games for a change during pre season. Booked mi cleggy tickets already.
June 5, 2025 at 5:10 pm #305480Cleethorpes and Crowle will hardly have us playing a season-starting lineup.

Will we get out of second gear in any of these fixtures?June 12, 2025 at 9:10 pm #305814X3 friendlies against step 6 sides feels pointless.
No home friendlies is abit poor all round tbh. Feels like we are scrambling around for opposition?
June 12, 2025 at 10:21 pm #305816No home friendlies is spot on after last season’s pitch disaster, get it properly laid, seeded or whatever, get the maintenance plan in place and make sure the pitch is strong and in immaculate condition before the serious stuff starts. Don’t care about pre season games, just use them as a fitness and tactical exercise and hit the ground fully fit and running when our first league fixture kicks off. Pre season and the opposition you face is overrated IMO, just be ready to go.

June 13, 2025 at 4:54 am #305819Whilst i agree with IA above post re the pitch there is no getting away from the fact so far PSF are a bit lukewarm we may see Spalding or Matlock next ??? …No Hull City , Donny, Lincoln or even the Cods ..any EFL outfit would be nice.

June 13, 2025 at 11:23 am #305825We’ve still the 26th to fill, so maybe Bradford away sure they’ll help us out.
And why would Matlock want to play us, they’ve got 3 sell out crowds already against Chesterfield, Derby and Mansfield at home, Scunny! who!

Never a fan of WHAM (sussed him from day one)… but that’s a good pre-season. Challenge them, stretch them; not to the point of injury or exhaustion – but to find out who’s going to cope and be your preferred starting 11 when the meaningful stuff starts.
You don’t want 6 over-easy games and then a season curtain lifter away at York or Forest Green.
Rabbits & headlights springs to mind.I’d have finished with Harrogate and Salford away.
Cleggy & Skeggy ain’t going to tell us anything.1 user thanked author for this post.
June 13, 2025 at 2:07 pm #305828Brigg and Winterton to be announced soon no doubt, that’s if Brigg’s new plastic pitch is ready.

Good call sufc i forgot about them two and Barton as well.
June 13, 2025 at 2:13 pm #305830Not just at our level there’s low key friendlies. Peterborough have got Stamford, Boston and Grimsby away so far

Brigg now being my team as I’ve moved into the area.
I said a couple of months ago I wouldn’t renew my season ticket at SUFC and I won’t.
My only problem with becoming a season ticket holder at Brigg is the colours they play in.June 16, 2025 at 10:07 am #305878Spenny away added as another PSF .. 26th July
June 16, 2025 at 10:31 am #305879Will Shrimpton be in opposition? Thought they might have snapped him up by now.

He’s signing for Chester I’m led to believe
June 19, 2025 at 4:05 pm #305987Friendlies last season were Barton, Winterton, Gainsborough, Brigg, Bottesford, Halifax, Hartlepool & Chesterfield.
Doesn’t really matter who we play!
June 19, 2025 at 4:30 pm #305988Course it doesn’t matter who you play, it’s just nice to see them tested against higher opposition, all clubs normally do it, lesser teams away higher placed teams at home, guess no pitch and no wants to host us, fans alone at our club would feel the same.
Hopefully a one off.June 24, 2025 at 5:05 pm #306082You think we’re vapid? Leyton have just made their first signing of pre-season.

Premier League teams don’t/can’t.
That’s why they tour abroad. Sunderland play South Shields and Gateshead then go to the Algarve but they still don’t know who they’ll be playing. Most likely Portuguese second tier clubs. Then they play Hearts for Craig Gordon’s testimonial, followed by a visit to the Mudrats and finishing with Real Betis at SoL.
I don’t think our pre-season budget will stretch to a continental tour just yet unless the Irish Iron lads can arrange for another run out against Finn Harps.

July 5, 2025 at 8:45 pm #306497Fri, Jul 4th – Bottesford 4-0
Sat, Jul 12th – Cleethorpes (A) – 2pm
Tue, Jul 15th – Crowle (A) – 7pm
Sat, Jul 19th – Gainsborough (A)
Tue, July 22nd – Skegness
Sat, July 26th – Spennymoor
Sat, Aug 2nd – Worksop Town (A) – 3pmReasonable start, 4 scored, none conceded.
No injuries picked up?July 5, 2025 at 9:14 pm #306505We can’t play on our pitch yet which massively hinders due to us delaying the repair work for that stupid music event which we made no profit on.

Do we now know that we didn’t make any profit from it? I’ve not looked for any info about it tbh.
July 5, 2025 at 10:08 pm #306510No info has been published but WG will be right, he always is.
July 6, 2025 at 10:00 am #306516I noticed that CR10 didn’t feature on Friday night.

Still not fully recovered from last season’s injury according to AB after the game as is Beck and Barrows and Denton not risked on an artificial pitch. All part of pre season working your way back from knocks or injuries received towards the end of the last campaign.
