Would be good to see but I suspect the vested interests at the top of the game will ensure it doesn’t happen.

The wage cap introduced last season was a step in the right direction, I don’t understand why people like our chairman wasn’t in favour of it.

Thought Jarvis looked ok, occupied their defenders well and once we got players within 30 yards of him, things started to happen.

Perry might be the slightest, lightest weight footballer I’ve ever seen.

An ancient problem reared its ugly head, however. The defence played well enough, I suppose, but look at all the pressure it had to face with the failings of the midfield in front of it. Hole after hole opened up and we could easily have lost by half a dozen.

I can’t agree about this, Taft looked half asleep all game, Onarise is painfully slow on the turn and he can’t pass the ball at all, Thompson & Millen were lucky not to get sent off for persistent fouling.

The midfield was a non-entity too but that back 4 has not got a lot to recommend it.

The team definitely showed some gumption second half, especially after Scrimshaw replaced the anonymous Loft, but we don’t seem to have the ability to actually build an attack. Any chances we have seem to almost happen by accident rather than design.

No width last night and no one who could run in behind the opposition defence (which didn’t look that good on the few occasions it was actually tested).

Hill’s got plenty to do, with 18/46 games played I’m not sure there’s enough time left to do it.

Can’t disagree with any of that, assuming there’s no alternative for the right back position?

Non-executive directors are usually outside appointments to provide guidance on the overall management of the company. They’re not employees & they don’t tend to get involved in the day-to-day running.

Cox had many faults but perhaps the biggest fault of all was not one player is any better than they were when they arrived at the club.

O’Malley and Watson have improved but I think that was despite Cox rather than because of him

Not sure you can have it both ways – either players improved under Cox or they didn’t?

I’m glad that Hippolyte is getting a bit of praise on here, I think he’s done quite well this season in central midfield, particularly running beyond the strikers. He won that penalty at Mansfield, should have won another v. Donny in the cup, set up Scrimshaw beautifully for that goal against Crawley and is scoring penalties. He may not be brilliant but it’s not a bad return given the rest of the team.

He’s not very good and I’m not sure he ever was. Definitely has his moments, like that goal on debut, and maybe there is a player in there but we’ve not seen a huge amount of it.

Every game is a game 2 already for a 1,000 previously regular supporters.

Getting them to game 1 would be the tricky part at the Sinking Sands.

I am not 100% sure but I think that was the situation at Boundary Park too before the latest protests.

Yep, 6,080 on Saturday compared to an average before that of 3,900 this season.

A ludicrous sending off but did anyone see the other red in that game? A Dundee United player was sent off for grabbing an opponent by the knackers.

But hoofing it forward will only work if you have players able to win a decent amount of those hoofs and stop the ball coming straight back. We don’t have any forwards capable of winning more than about 1 in 20.

Get one of the centre backs up front as a battering ram!

The enforced break for FA Cup round 2 weekend will allow some hard fitness work to be done.

This is true but I’m not sure I buy the whole fitness issue, you hear it every time a new manager comes in, unless there’s some hard data on display I am going to be a bit cynical about how true it is.

I still think the best option for this team would be some good old-fashioned hoof ball. No messing about at the back, defend deep and cause defences headaches with plenty of balls in behind.

If Stockport don’t get up this season, I wonder how long it’ll be before they go pop again.

Pugh’s been dropped for the experience of Kenyon. Which may or may not be the right solution. Hill’s trying different options to see what works, if he didn’t do that you’d blame him for being dogmatic.

The fact that Wood & Hackney continue to get picked is still baffling to me though.

He has inherited a team not match fit enough to play the high tempo pressing game he requires.

So play a game to suit the tools you’ve got.

When Hill gets them match fit (a month?) and when he can add 2 or 3 genuine League quality players (mid January Swann permitting) then we might win a few points against half decent teams as well.

    Some big ifs in there!

It could be worse – we could be Manure fans.

I know you’re joking but it does annoy me that Man United are supposed to be in “crisis”. Come down the bottom of League Two lads, we’ll show you what a crisis looks like!

I admire your optimism, I think Hill is probably as good a manager as we could hope to get, but I don’t think people really realise just how bad a squad we have. Not many bright sparks in it!

For the Bradford game at home they are charging £23 adult £16 and £7 for under 18s and under 12 free admission for 2 children, you can see why we won the gold family accreditation from the EFL. Well done swanny.

So the same price Mansfield are charging which you think is steep? Interesting.

Won’t be there this Saturday but my reasonably recent favourite memory was our last promotion season from league two and another Paul Hayes return first game back. What an absolute belter of a first goal, must have been all of 30 yards out, first time strike top corner, where we were all assembled going ape shit. The bovril was crap though.

God, what a brilliant moment that was. Probably the last game I really enjoyed watching the Iron. Absolutely magical.

It was a new ground to go to Ferrite, just been to pick my tickets up for Mansfield a senior and 2 kids under 12, £48 F ing pounds, robbing bastards what the f, Swanny charges £15 I do hope swanny doesn’t go anywhere to soon.

What do we charge away fans?

£23 is pretty steep but probably not far off most teams in this division I would guess.

It wouldn’t surprise me that the software is now pretty much obsolete.

But surely it wouldn’t be too much of an investment to replace it with one that could be incorporated into any new/refurbished ground?

Didn’t have you down as one of those types Mick.

And if you mean “being rescued after weeks or months of dangerous & uncertain travel” is “not much difficulty”, then I’m not going on holiday with you!

I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if Hill leaves before the end of the season. I think he’ll improve us on the field but I don’t know if it will be enough.

Lyle Taylor is the biggest one for me recently. Could see a good player in there from miles away.

You’re a better scout than me, I couldn’t see anything in Taylor, especially as I’ve rarely seen a player whose head seemed to drop quicker. Granted we tried to use him as a target man, which clearly wasn’t his game, but he never really seemed to fancy playing for Scunthorpe.

Recognising a young player with undoubted talent and promise in dour times like these is not the same as blindly obsessing about a player.

You do over react at times.

Sure. I suppose my point is more about pinning all our hopes on a player who hasn’t ever started a League game. It’s great that he’s a hot prospect, I’d love to see more of him, but we need to be careful about piling too much expectation on a kid.

Whilst I’d love to see a team full of youth team graduates and I completely understand why people are so keen to see an exciting youngster, the obsession with Wilson among some posters on here is getting a bit odd. Let’s face it, Cox & Hill will have their reasons for not picking him yet, I’m sure his time will come, probably before too much longer.

The reforms driven by the Premier League will have hurt lower league clubs far more than dwindling EFL Trophy attendances.

    B team boycott.

The competition has been ruined, you only have to look at how many clubs have had record low attendances since the reforms. Need to kick out the B-teams and get rid of the group stage.

I would be stunned if Loft goes that far up the leagues when he leaves us.

They did not seem to grasp or want to that there are a lot of other factors besides Covid that have lost the 1000 fans.

Are gates down at every other League Two club post-Covid? I’m pretty sure we would have seen long think pieces in the papers if they were. So if it’s just us, why would Covid be the reason?

What is this famous survey? The one only sent to season ticket holders? Why on earth would you not seek to get a wider range of views? It seems baffling.
