Luckily we’re still in pole position.
With two thirds of the season still to go, we can recruit, regroup, reorganise and stamp our authority on the league.Amen to that

Can’t recall the details. Awaywego may remember? He alerted us to it on here.
‘plumbers, plasterers, builders and mechanics’
Often used as a stick to beat the team with after a bad performance. It’s a bit cheap IMO
Well, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen criticism of him bring too old skool online somewhere so there would be possible flak there anyway
I don’t understand why both can’t have equal priority Cass. I have said this previously
Not constant criticism Cliff, but enough for her to take to the Facebook group recently. A first. I would genuinely be interested to know what her thoughts were about some of the harsher criticisms about club affairs on here but have no wish to see it in print. Yes, CEO should be a much needed help. That’s why the post was created I guess? It’s a shame for one or two on here it has to be one or the other. The other being new players
November 3, 2024 at 12:08 pm in reply to: … “Playing all the right passes, not necessarily in the right order” … #292837Fair points. It’s as if pointing and shouting to team mates suddenly isn’t a prerequisite for the role of Captain.
‘You can make all the noise you want but this isn’t an “easy” league.’
Quote of the week IMO
Tough match. Bounce back, 2-1 Iron win.
‘As another poster said “we don’t want to change the management but we want change from the management.”
But it won’t be long the rumblings are beginning.’
I’d like to take point with this if I may without being accused of ‘picking fights’ ‘handbags’ etc by 414. Totally agree with your first point but the more the second point is repeated the bigger likelihood of it becoming a self fulfilling prophecy and we end up as Sackgate again and onlookers will think ‘wtf is that club doing? Look at their position’
‘In an attempt to have a dig a sub 4k crowd is mentioned. must be me that only remembers the 2.5k crowds as a league club.’
Sub 1,200 at one point
I’m not saying some supporters want us to fail, but some may take some consolation in saying ‘I told you so’ if we do. Put the blame at Butler’s door all you like (some are doing), he can’t stop players sideways passing and doing u turns on the half way line and the like. Radcliffe’s game plan worked, ours didn’t. Improvements needed. The time for a new Midfielder and Forward is pressing.
‘P.S. Lowest Saturday crowd so far this season, even after the emphatic win on Tuesday. The start of ‘The Butler effect’?’
Only if you perceive it thus. You were silent after the emphatic midweek match. Why do you seemingly revel in our bad days at the office? Is being proven right more important than the cause?
Dismal result at home against a team sat in the relegation zone.
Even worse performance, arguably the worst so far this season (and that’s a tough gig!). Dreadful all over the pitch, sloppy in possession, offering nothing up front, hoofball resumed, baffling subs, much the same as majority of the season (barring the odd game here and there).
Maybe most worrying of all Butler’s post match bluster to Humberside. He’s ‘pleased’, thinks we’ve been ‘good away from home’ (3 losses and 2 draws in last 5 away) and the only excuse he can muster for our dreadful display is that ‘they are a good side’. Oh and not one to disappoint the crowd, he threw in a ‘we’re still top of the league’.
His interviews are becoming more than a tad embarrassing and tonight’s particularly mind-boggling spiel, has angered plenty of fans. Where is the incentive to turn up to the next match when the manager says on record that today’s performance was acceptable, sorry even more so ‘pleasing’? Crossing the line from ‘simple’ to ‘idiotic’ perhaps?
Top spot is Chorleys for the taking now. 2 games in hand and only 4 points needed from 6 to leap over us and on recent form it’s very possible (likely) we won’t see it again. Our inability to win a game on a Saturday, (i.e the only day our part-time counterparts haven’t put in a shift in their full time jobs pre-game) is inevitably going to cost us. As per Iron-stats :
The Iron’s form in games played on a Saturday:
DDDLLDDL
Their form in midweek games:
WWWWWWWWThe above was pre-Radcliffe so can another D to the Saturday form… mind blowing! Surely the only ‘edge’ to our game can’t just be that our opposition have done a hard days graft and our prima-Donna’s are well rested? If that’s all we’ve got in our toolbox we better hope for alot of frozen pitches and subsequently rearranged games over the winter months. We haven’t won a Saturday game since 17th August. We just can’t get promoted with form like that.
The only positive from today is that our very own forum Gestapo is a lot less chirpy this evening so there’s no handbags, fight picking and / or wielding of perceived ‘authority’ by threatening to delete posts and such like.
P.S. Lowest Saturday crowd so far this season, even after the emphatic win on Tuesday. The start of ‘The Butler effect’?
In all seriousness, if you want him to fail that badly, where does this leave you?

United we stand. Gestapo Marxists Union. Chirpy chirpy cheap cheap. UTI
Should never have let Butterfieldandinho go tbf. Turmoil ever since.
That’s what Torps was saying pretty much. Though he was perhaps being generous
Yes. About 12 mins in i think. iB gave a heads up
Doesn’t sound great so far. Frustrating
Ha ha, sorry. Multitasking

Carlton for Whitehall sounds interesting
I’d also add JI, if the only topics of conversation are Israel / Gaza, and the US and UK elections, and the few of us on there hold strong beliefs about those subjects, then it’s hardly surprising if things got toxic at times.
Just a counterpoint to this JI Nostradamus: an alternative interpretation is the very few contributors to ‘t’other side (t’was ever this) are bored and tired of rehearsing the same old arguments and opinions with the same few people. I know I am. And just maybe after all this time, we’ve realised we just don’t get along? C’est la vie. I don’t agree with your comparison to the above misunderstanding and disagreement I had with Cass recently. We disagreed, it got a bit heated, we continued discussing together. Done. It happens. Nothing too toxic IMO. The irony is, as people point out, yes, it is a forum, these things happen. It’s not the UN.

Thanks. I’ll try later on. I did see the pages in the links earlier but it’s not one of few listed today. Need to play it through phone today as out and about. There’s always Rockin Radcliffe Radio if all else fails
