Common knowledge we’ve been after another striker for weeks before Beck signed. So always a good chance he’d be partnered with Whitehall in a more 4-4-2 formation, despite those who are adamant that Butler is too ‘arrogant’ and ”stubborn’ to change anything.
Hard to believe that ..barring injury time goals .. we sit top again. Maybe the voices of reason will hold sway for a few days. If it was 4 4 2 then maybe a lesson learned by our rookie manager.
Maybe JI. Though Torps was asked that and he wasn’t so sure, so don’t believe those that say it must have been due to a formation change.
Don’t worry, some stirrer will be on here over the next few days saying how frustrated they are that Butler didn’t change formation sooner and that it was probably down to a board intervention. Bore off.
Yep, and back to a clean sheet. I’d say the defensive subs and soaking up a bit of pressure worked a treat. Delighted for Butler and the boys. Should silence the ‘Butler Out’ mob for a few days.

‘Now we seem to have a group of lads, disconnected from the fans who look like they can’t be arsed.
Really? Not what it sounded like today 414 or the other games I’ve watched or listened to commentary on. I reckon you just make things up to suit your narrative. Come back to me when we’re dwelling around mid-table for a long period and I might treat you more seriously.

Not like we’re the only team on the planet does that Mick.
2-0. Get in!!
If we’re set up 4-4-2 why are we not 2 nil up by now? Is Butler telling them not to score? Probably been running too much again this week and watching ‘the world’s greatest defences’ on loop. Pah!
‘They already know about our unpopular manager and his even more unpopular tactics.’
I think the every man and his dog in the country knows given how loudly the crying’s been.
Love Butler, plus one
Way past his era TW. Alexander time.

‘give the guy a chance, he is actually on our side.’
Yes TJO. As incredible as that may seem to some, he actually is. You’d think he was a shill the way some people post about him. God knows what they say about their enemies.

Greed?? They’re trying pay off the debt and become sustainable. How can that be classed as greed? You’re not obliged to contribute any more funds. No one is. But if you don’t ask you don’t get and some may want to give more. Why is it such a big deal?

‘Now the ‘almost lost the club’ narrative is losing gravitas, the football is god awful to watch, we’re out of both cups and looking increasingly likely to be floating round the middle of the table for the second half of the season.’
I see most supporters online agreeing that the ‘we nearly lost the club’ mantra is wearing a bit thin, but it still doesn’t mean perspective should be thrown down the pan. Most your posts should have a warning: ‘no perspective here’. I don’t have rose tinted glasses but neither am I constantly looking for any aspect of on and off field activity to be critical of. It’s astonishing, a casual observer would be forgiven for thinking it’s a GTFC fan posting. Things really aren’t that bad, and to claim we’re looking at mid table dwelling for the rest of the season only serves your pessimistic prediction at season start. A long way to go yet.

Well deserved Silver
Alright, forget all this ‘United we stand’ and ‘at least we have a club’ gubbins, what good does constant undermining and doom and gloom do for anyone, club, staff, supporters, etc? Give me one good reason. There was never this much negativity under Hilton. Absolute joke.

I’ve never played football manager, but I’ve played Monopoly and chess a lot and never flipped the board over when things aren’t going my way.
You misunderstood then. It’s less about being ‘content’ with the current formation Butler chooses; more an observation how a number of posters on Bru nearly always know better, despite any, as far as I’m aware, experience of playing or coaching at professional level. Not like I didn’t didn’t question the number of defenders being picked in the starting eleven before it became the main reason things were going pear shaped, for many. It’s this absolute certainty I see being bandied about, leading to extreme solutions like sacking the manager again that I’m pointing out.

Jumpers for goalposts I heard. No wonder we won. None of that goal post malarkey like this highfalutin modern football.
Class cover that
Whoever ends up in charge in the future won’t last long before the world class tacticians on here start wagging their fingers and suggesting a ‘better’ way to coach

Not that long ago we were discussing tactics employed in the League 1 playoff semi.
For ‘discussing tactics’ read ‘moaning about Alexander, Swann and contracts’
