Don’t expect to start seeing an improvement on the pitch if the basics off it are being ignored.

It’s not that dirty seats, tatty flags and blocked drains are major issues in themselves, it’s the message that, and the general neglect of the stadium, gives out. It’s basically saying ‘I don’t really give a toss about the ground and the supporter experience’. He admitted he hasn’t even been down to have a look. How can you expect people to care if it looks like you don’t? This attitude will permeate through the club, from the top down. Where’s the pride in stewardship gone? Lead by example.

There might also be a case to be argued that he seems better at overspending than managing within means, given we almost reached the Championship twice and were being served up decent football with some excellent players. Now that the debt is wiped clean, why not ho again? After all, he may now own the ground, but apparently ‘nothing’s changed’.

National League don’t have any tight financial rules as fair as I’m aware?

Our budget is determined by how many fans we get through the gate, which is determined by how many games we win, which is determined by how good our players are, which is determined by our budget. All connected.

Yes there are some exceptions to the rule but not many.

Thanks for that UTI99, you may well be right with your first point, but the rest of your explanation is too simplistic and doesn’t explain why a lot of budgets of NL clubs is higher than a lot of L2 clubs. All you’ve done is say Swann is managing the budget like a household one now, which everybody knows. It doesn’t help with answering the question, unless you’re implying that those NL clubs are either overspending or have higher revenue from Gate receipts?

Are they overspending in general, or have they got higher revenue?

I would have liked the interviewers to ask Swann why it’s the case that so many National League clubs have a higher budget than many League 2 clubs, because I don’t know why that is. Excuse my ignorance but can anyone here explain please?

Sorry for the negativity but these two initiatives sound like one bright spark’s ideas to ‘come up with a few things we can promote to appease the whingeing gits – something quick and easy and that doesn’t require too much resourcing’.

I think it will take a lot more actual committed engagement to re-engage disenfranchised fans, but agree CT, it’s a start and hopefully more to come.

Or, rather than whataboutery and acting judge and jury you could just accept the decision of PFC, which is open to appeal after all. The nature of the group messages is more detailed here:

There’s a few posters on here who write as though they’re pinged most the time, and a few it might do the world of good for.

The players aren’t supporting Cullors or BLM. Some are determined to believe that’s the case. Quite why is open to interpretation.

And please don’t chip in with any ‘forum 6 are never wrong’ nonsense. These are individual views that happen to be shared by others. Every poster on here thinks their points are right otherwise why bother posting anything on a serious subject like this?

This has been raised before and the answer remains the same. The players are taking the knee against the anti-racism they face not in support of BLM. Anybody’s failure to respect that is bigotry. And please don’t anyone bother calling me a bigot because I don’t respect your bigoted views. It starts and ends with those not respecting the players.

Keep politics on the non-football side please, unless I’ve got a point to make, then suddenly it’s not a problem.

No. I’ve said twice I’m calling you homophobic because you thanked this post from Big J in your ‘taking to the knee’ thread (it’s still there if you look):

‘Pride is being pushed on the masses to normalise degeneracy! It’s nothing but queers showing how debauched they are with kink and attempts to recruit children to the gay agenda! They want more gays! Society is being engineered to make our kids gay as part of the great replacement and population control!

I doubt Harry Kane has much say on the matter! He has been told by those higher up to wear it to make it seem normal to the masses! Though many can see through the tricks of the libtards to normalise sodomy! Such acts were rightfully seen as disgusting and now they are being normalised to protect the feelings of queer snowflakes who can’t handle criticism for their lifestyle choice!’

Another reason someone like you shouldn’t be on a fans panel. You seem unable to interpret and rationalise basic facts. That’s putting it politely.

What are you talking about?? Are you attempting to correct me on something? If so, explain what I’ve got wrong.

Firing line? More BS exaggerations from you awaywego! As for j charles, if you can’t see that publicly liking extreme online racist or homophobic posts says everything anybody needs to know about you than you’re living on cloud cuckoo land. You shouldn’t be anywhere near a fans panel with those hateful views. Hopefully the decision makers see you for what you are.

Whether we share similar views on how the club is run or not, having anyone on the panel who publicly likes extreme racist and homophobic online content is plain wrong IMO. As for being easy to sit back and let others do it, that may be true but you are forgetting that some fans are not willing to sign up to an appeasement offer, which based on the owners track record, is more than likely what it is. It’s hardly a job or major commitment either, as you’re making it out to be. What is it an hour or so once a month? Do me a favour!

Nice one j Charles if genuine. Your certainty not a yes man and your view’s are not the same as mine on alot of things but I will back you.

Why will you back someone who routinely ‘thanks’ the Big J poster that posts extreme racist and homophobic content?

Pretty much agree with that apart from the ‘unprecedented success’ part. Two failed League One play off finals isn’t a success.

Totally MKI. And you could add to that the ludicrous opinion that people have still got it in for him due to less successful performances in the World Cup.
