I know a few youngish people suffering bad with long Covid. They’re fit people normally but certainly don’t have the rigours of pro footy. Must be tough. Newcastle’s keeper Darlow struggled with it I believe.

I thought Mattheson made some good moves, particularly in the first half

It’s a vicious circle, unless recruitment improves. Looks like he’s not prepared to overspend, but if the players aren’t good enough, gates are more likely to decrease. It’s obvious to everyone else what needs to be addressed.

I’d give Burns 8-9, particularly for his second goal

On the positive side, Sinclair seemed to make a difference and Burns took his goals well.

“the lad got loads of grief for not scoring and was quickly cast asisde.”

A player driven out by fans? I thought we had the only fans that behaved that way.

‘We’ve had good seasons, we’ve had shit seasons, deal with it instead of crying like a baby.’

Bit more to it than that UTI99 but I don’t think you should ‘piss off’ as WG says. In the spirit of us all wanting what’s best for the club can we stop the slanging matches? I know I’m as guilty as anyone else on here for doing that before anyone points the finger.

Are you on a mission to try and get Matt to throw the towel in and close this forum down too Alcy? Another defeat, further in to relegation quagmire and this is your response? Another deliberately provocative post designed to wind people up? How is this helpful to anyone?

So you think the signing of Goode and the abuse he got should be swept under the carpet because it doesn’t fit your narrative? The club could have profited greatly if fans had gave the lad a chance.

Not saying it should be swept under the carpet. But the clubs problems run far deeper than a few players getting some stick.

Unfortunately, due to poor signings, spending SOME money before the deadline seems to be the only option.

Well, that’s a shortsighted approach if you ask me UTI99. It would be sensible to try and find and sign players who have the potential to be sold on at profit a bit more than has been happening in recent years. Is that in the business strategy?

I was thinking more along the lines of healthy supporter, and other stakeholder, engagement and relationship building, resulting in increased attendences and therefore increased revenue which can then be used to build a better team which more and more people want to watch. Or is that a crazy idea?

NLI, why do you think all clubs that get relegated to the National League disappear?

The ones that don’t disappear and prosper, don’t some radical changes happen? Can you see anything like that happening at SUFC?

If the non football forum ever came back Alcy, would you intend to just post 5-6 videos on threads per day or actually discuss views you don’t agree with, like you used to?

Why don’t you just say what it was you said to him Alcy. It’ll save time.

‘It had the desired effect, eventually, esp. when BigJ etc joined in.’

So you’re pleased with yourself for encouraging that to happen and the board getting out of hand? There’s occasional provocation and bad language (I’m guilty of that I admit) and there’s spamming to the extent where you and a few others destroy it.

It’s on the clubs official website.

It really is that simple to find out that information.

SUFC are on track to break even which is a pretty sound business strategy.

If that’s true, of course it’s a positive. I do hope there’s a lot more to the strategy than that though because that alone is not sound. How do dwindling attendences and thr very real possibility of going non league fit in to that? There was a good analogy Les made about tyres and wheels coming off. Is that in the executive summary?

Surely the point Daz is making isn’t about the total figure comparison UTI99 but about a comparison to business strategy? If it does the club ‘zero favours’ I’m sure many of us would be keen to know your business strategy that could help the club climb above zero.
