If I was a lifelong Toon fan I couldn’t continue supporting the club under that regime. Would you awaywego?

I think most posters on here are aware that we’re probably going to struggle in the NL on a budget based on approx 2,000 average Olly. The future is anything but bright and there are concerns we might drop another division next season.
Broken promises? Just a wild guess!
Semantics. Personally, if I raised my voice and got angry with a staff member, I wouldn’t quibble with someone saying I was giving them a mouthful. Still, bigger things to worry about isn’t there.
‘raising ones voice to ask for service is not giving someone a mouthful imo’
Pretty sure you didn’t say ‘raising one’s voice’. It was a harsher than that, unless you can find the original post and prove me wrong? Maybe not giving someone a mouthful but words to that effect.
Not my view about the Iron Bar, I rarely frequent it, one of awaywego’s older comments and if memory serves it was more down to one staff member chatting too much instead of serving.
Proper Renaissance Man awaywego 😃😆

Er, so when staff at the Iron Bar are not serving fast enough, your response would be to give them a mouthful awaywego. But when the club staff have a bad track record of getting shirts stocked in time it’s all down to the manufacturers? I think, along with Bucks, you’re on a wind up too. What would I do? I’d be emailing and phoning the manufacturers every day pestering them to ensure they weren’t late and I’d have got assurances from the new manufacturer that they were going to deliver on time, unlike the last lot, and if they delivered late, they’d be in breach of contract.
We seem to have strayed from the opening post. I’m not suggesting there’s a link….
It’s nor irrelevant or a red herrjng, quite frankly, it’s intrinsically bound up with the current situation. Fairly criticising the club over those issues you think are irrelevant and repeating them when nothing seems to be done to rectify (or in many cases, got worse) is totally legitimate and justified. Yes, the recruitment over the last few years has been appalling and it’s a major factor but not the only one. This is not a single issue. You sound like someone quite once removed from the reality, to be frank.
I’m surprised you can’t see how these things contribute to reduced gates and income > Owner reduces player budget > gates reduce further > owner reduces budget again, ad infinitum.

There’s a lot of crap to clean up where SUFC is concerned.
Lol, don’t give awaywego an excuse for complaining other posters are talking about toilet paper now! 😅

Yes NI, and why those things he and you mention are very important is, due to all those issues, falling gates, decreased revenue, slashed squad budget resulting in poor squad. So those things combined are intrinsic to the problem, the vicious circle.

Water under the broken bridge now I feel.
Do you have evidence to back up the claim Heath? Cliff Richard is claiming otherwise.
Non-league and person non grata

Missed that, was half watching. Tossers indeed.
How many teams are relegated every season from the National League?
I was saying fans shouldn’t run on the pitch the other day but I did just that in the late 70s, maybe 76/77? Jumped the wall behind the DRE goal at full time to pat Graeme Crawford on the back before he trundled off. He’d had a good game and I think we won 1-0 or 2-0. Only 10 or 11 years old. Excitement got the better of me. Hadn’t realised how tall he was though and it was a bit of a stretch. Plus I probably gave him a shock running up behind like that! He seemed appreciative though and it made my day.

All a bit hypothetical if he’s still around isn’t it. Just can’t see anything to be optimistic about. When has he ever demonstrated he’s prepared to listen to anyone?
Add this to the failure’s track list…

Can still feel the excitement of cutting through back streets and car park from Oswald Road and seeing the lit floodlights as we came out on to Donny Rd.

Good shout awaywego. I haven’t seen him since about 1983 so wouldn’t recognise him anyway. Or maybe I would? ‘bloody rubbish Iron!!!’. Is that where BRI got the poster name from? Part of the DRE OSG match experience.

Could and should do a great job there. Not necessarily though….
