I’m pretty sure he’ll be aware of the incident by now awaywego.

I would add to a few posts above about it being unnecessary and heavy handed; how do you think the police would have handled that? Would they have wrestled and cuffed him, potentially inflaming a volatile situation? I think not, he’d have been restrained and kicked out and the group talked to to diffuse further disturbance. The security firm have handled it very badly IMO.
To be fair to the club though, at least it’s consistent…crappness!!!
Where would you have preferred him to announce it?
Unfair awaywego. And given you don’t know the full circumstances that led to his resignation, it’s disrespectful. Maybe he was too optimistic, desperate to help in a tragic situation and didn’t realise just how bad things were until he arrived back and witnessed it himself? You’ve some gall accusing him of letting himself down, I’ll give you that much.

‘where do we go from here apart from downwards at an alarming rate I fear’
Edging close to Haircut 100 there I-A. Pack it in! 😆

Jumped or pushed?

Agreed, he probably didn’t need handcuffing but if that’s how that security company is trained then I’ve no objections.
What a contradictory post

All the best Neil. Hope you’re successful getting our voices heard. Some good news for a change. UTI

Don’t agree that he kept Cox on ‘to make sure we went down’. Basically because there’s no evidence for it. However, evidence of sheer incompetence in many aspects of club matters over many years is rife. A huge catalogue of errors.

An Oldham fan I know was merrily gloating a few weeks ago about how they’ve improved – smirking about how bad we are. Schadenfreude will be mine!!!
Thought he sounded more like ‘Big Vern’!
Does Neil post on Bru Mick?
Probably not that great cup replay on a Tuesday or Wednesday night early to mid 80s that we won (3-2?). Great night that was. Feisty atmosphere at the back of the DRE
That 76/77 Workington side were abysmal. Think even we beat them 3-1 ay the OSG if memory serves?

They should bring Jeff Stelling along in a golden carriage!

It really would.
If that really is the reason Simon was brought in, and I’ve no reason to think not now, that’s extremely cynical. Every time you try to muster up some positivity regarding club announcements the carpet is ripped from under you.

No use, the club is plagued.

The cost is very high on the list, particularly considering the huge increase in the costs of living. Unless money is not an object to people that is. It will take more than winning to get the crowds back.
Aye, snap out of it you two. Only napping and a crapping on this thread lads!
Which is maybe all our squad are good for at the moment…

I think if we had the Man City or Liverpool players available we would still struggle, we are utterly jinxed, and whoever manages our current squad I don’t think we would get a massive change in results.
The players would certainly do better, though I’m not convinced Guardiola or Klopp could get much better from our current squad.
Too much information Bobby. A few threads need disinfecting I reckon!

Good article the 365 one Renee. Thanks. Added to supporter disillusionment with Premier league clubs, I’d add certain EFL clubs being run by incompetents.
‘Looking at their forum, fans are choosing to attend alternative non-league football in the area.’
There’s a lot of anecdotal evidence for this across the country. It doesn’t just effect home based supporters either. Supporters who now live in different parts of the country may be choosing tier 6-10 clubs that are local to them rather than following their home town club away as much. And it’s hardly surprising when you can get in for a fiver, decent çatering, feel part of a community based club etc.
Any stats you could find about gate increases across tiers 6-10 Renee? I assume this season will have seen a good increase?

I know a businessman who might think they’re good odds.
Just because both Hill and Cox struggled at the club with the current owner, doesn’t mean Cox wasn’t doing a bad job. One may also speculate how bad things were before Hill came in after Cox in charge for a considerable length of time, perhaps leaving Hill with an impossible task under pressing circumstances. That’s not to say Hill isn’t doing a bad job either.

Odds of 11/5 and 10/5 are hardly tempting. The Nap of the dayster clearly hasn’t seen any of our matches this season. Unless they’ve got some inside knowledge?

I doubt most posters on here give a toss if it was a ruse or not. We’ve had number Cods on here for quite a while in the past and it’s always interesting to hear your views.
