More importantly, is this a hint that Swanny’s going to be doing ‘My Way’ in the centre circle before he goes?

JI, if c) didn’t happen in the first place there’s less chance of a) and b) happening (though there will always be at least one). Would you agree with that?

FAO Wonderful Wharton, thank you for your opening post. You clearly have some inside knowledge of club affairs, and perhaps more than you could let on in the post. I’m sure the majority on here appreciate you were merely dying to give long suffering Iron fans something to look forward to. I hope a bit of abuse won’t put you off any future teasers if you know something good is about to happen. There is a reason why ‘teaser campaigns’ are still widely used in marketing, and it’s not because they’re ‘pointless’. All the best. UTI

It’s only embarrassing if you choose to visit their forum. If you don’t want to be embarrassed by it, you can choose not to read it. Simple really.

What was pointless III was you feeling the need to tell the opening poster to ‘sod off’ when you could have just ignored it if you didn’t like / agree with it. There was nothing harmless or offensive in the post that warranted the abuse. Hope that’s clear for you.

‘Don’t think the media cameras will and Humberside will deffo be talking about it which means Burnsy will be discussing it on his Monday show live to the county.’

Behave I-A, there a few posters on here like UTI99 intent on quelling the rabble and ridiculing any signs of dissent. I think they forget or maybe don’t realise that certain posters have useful connections on here.

‘Also …. some of them may not be the type to want to rub ‘noses in it’.’ Yep, I’m sure there are Bob Mariner, and indeed the aimable Olly Mariner was posting the other day. Plus we have Two Wrights from Hull and countless others before that. My point was about Cods coming on here rubbing our noses in it during this bleak time. If you’re not going to do that then there shouldn’t be a problem. As for the being able to set up an account jibe, it’s a forum for Iron fans so it’s our prerogative to take the piss out of rivals if we choose. Thanks.

The whole point is that the job could have been done a lot differently and a lot better. Like UTI99’S approach, your similarly dogmatic approach isn’t a progressive one, and if the security firm continue with it, it will only lead to further problems down the line.

Not sure many will be in favour of allowing Cods on here taking the piss awaywego. Why give them the opportunity to rub our noses in it? If it entertains you seeing them do it on their forum, good for you. I’m happy with the thought of a load of them thinking they’ll just waltz on here with a witty put down, only to be thwarted by having to set up an account. That’s if they’re intelligent enough to be able to set up an account ;)

‘If you know something, tell us.

    If not, then sod off.’

    No need. Absolutely no need.

UTI99, in my opinion your approach to this issue is dogmatic and would only add fuel to the fire. This is bigger than this particular incident on Saturday and it’s in the club’s best interests to view the situation holistically and take action that reduces the risk of it happening again. In my view that would be to end the contract with the current suppler and tender for a firm that understands crowd control at sporting occasions and would mitigate the real possibility of it happening again. The club can ill afford to lose any more support and goodwill at this time.

I don’t agree with Short’s statement here either:

‘Although not common in this area of operations it was the right option to use as opposed to physical force or heavy handed tactics.’

‘As opposed to physical force or heavy handed tactics’!!?? I wouldn’t like to see what they do deem as physical force or heavy handed tactics! Whatever next?

Are you lot still wasting your time discussing this?
What do you want Swann to do? Talk to interested parties.. oh wait he already is!🤦🏻‍♂️

If nothing else it’s a display of dissatisfaction. That in itself is something.

I don’t seen any indication from any poster above that they think we’ll bounce straight back. This and other threads show that the vast majority on here know it’s going to he a big struggle next year with the possible threat of a further drop.

It does seem a bit late now for protesting but it’s better than not at all isn’t it? I’d say so.

I agree with 72nd min walkout. It would also be good if there was another ingenious publicity stunt that didn’t break the law aswell.

Some chat on an Oldham forum about the right and wrong way to protest which you may or may not find interesting:

Just a wind up merchant awaywego, as your last 2 posts demonstrate. They’re not worthy of the time and effort responding to directly. Each to their own eh. Rather mine than yours!

You’re going to organise a protest against a man who has said he is in talks with 3/4 parties about selling the club?

Thick as…. all it will do is put off any potential owners. As Simon Elliott said on Facebook the club have already lost sponsors because of some ‘fans’ actions.

Quite telling how as soon as there is new talk of protests and dissent you suddenly reappear! One could be forgiven for thinking there’s a link. Substitute ‘thick as’ for ‘morons’ maybe?

You’re making a lot of assumptions again awaywego. And this:

‘The proper way to do it was to just resign and I am sure we could then have drawn our own conclusions to the episode’.

He did resign and then announced it on Facebook so that supporters were aware. Good job he did or we’d be none the wiser would we?

Why have you got it in for him anyway? It appears that you’re just knocking all his actions over this one thing when surely the problem is you know who?
