Stop making sense – it doesn’t hold round these parts!

From a CNN article:
Tim Bale, professor of politics at Queen Mary University of London, says that the policy is “a fairly clear grab at a type of voter the Conservatives badly need to hold onto to win the next election — older, whiter, probably less educated, and living in less affluent parts of the country.”
Hypocrite and a racist.
There’s a big difference between saying ‘you need to start winning to get bums on seats’ and ‘win games you’ll get the bums on seats’.
Pointless diversion
Does that include the EU flag or would you burn it in real life?
Junior doctors striking is a different issue. ‘Pathetic ex-footballer’ is just personal. What he didn’t win, is irrelevant. People getting paid more for making coffee is irrelevant to this topic.
Oh, stop crying, it’s embarrassing.
‘there will be a lot of BBC staff very unhappy about how the Corporation has caved in to someone who earns more in a month than many of them will earn in a whole year, even accepting that BBC pay is pretty good.’
There will, will there. What? Because you say so, and open many a claim with ‘let’s be absolutely clear about this…’?
Codswallop. You have no idea how many will be unhappy and ‘seething’ about it. Just the usual unsubstantiated guff Bucks. Money isn’t everything to everyone. You’re out of touch.
‘This is a huge own goal by the BBC, which has just brought forward its own demise as a publicly funded body by many years.’
Another grandiose claim. What’s it about really Bucks? Wishful thinking? Let’s see eh. See what happens.
Oh dear. There’s some very angry men turning purple 🤣
Good article here featuring Le Tissier. I’m sure some on here will warm to him even more after reading what a fine upstanding citizen he is 🤣

‘Le Tissier’s calling him out now for it’. Wow, he must be gutted 🤣
‘As for “64” or what ever you call yourself, you are just one evil lout’
But calling me a ‘w***er’ (without the asterixes) as you did on the football side last week, is okay is it? No, it isn’t.
For the unaquainted, the above is a reference to a lyric by US rapper, Shaggy, not the hapless hippie on Scooby Doo 😉
I think you’ll find there’s sufficient evidence.
“Between now and the report Gary will abide by the editorial guidelines, that’s where we are.”
And he may well argue that he didn’t breach the guidelines in the first place. If it was the case he had, they’d be pushing him to apologise. They haven’t. Why you’ve bolted on Elliott and Sharp here is anyone’s guess. No logic.
Lineker’s back. No apology given or needed. Looks like all those that dislike the programme so much, for whatever reason, will have to put up with it or stop watching, if they usually watch in the first place. Such a shame for the BBC naysayers and Lineker haters.
Keep similar prices if you want to see attendances drop. Personally, I can’t see that happening. Hilton seems pretty business savvy, unlike the previous egomaniac.
I can see The Sun and Telegraph use the word ‘soar’ (what a surprise!). Other news outlets, including the BBC itself, stuck to the facts and reported ‘increase’ or ‘rise’. Then again, they don’t have an agenda with the BBC and anything that legitimately questions the government as the predominantly right wing press and media have.
I’d hardly say another half million viewers given the situation constitutes soaring figures. Explaining that way does help to sell papers and provide click bait though. Did you watch it awaywego? Are you seriously saying that’s how you’d prefer a football highlights programme or is this another example of your strange humour?
After listening to the first hour of the latest episode, including around 30mins covering responses to the US Dept of Energy news regarding the possibility of Covid originating in the Wuhan lab, I’m already tiring of listening to the Rubin clips. Never heard him much before, but he comes across as a shock value, demonising cretin. How anyone can take him seriously is mind boggling.

Predictable right wingers distorting and manipulating the truth, even on here.

It will be interesting to hear what you think to that episode and others JI. No idea why you are asking if it’s okay to offer your opinion of it on here – it’s an open forum. There may be only really myself and Siderite commenting on it right now, but that’s just circumstantial I think. Not sure what you’ll make of the podcast – I find it hard to disagree with most of their analyses, which are primarily based on clips of the ‘guru’s’ speaking. I think they’re pretty charitable regarding Peterson, particularly how his output has helped people. The more I listen to Peterson, the more critical I am of him.
I usually listen to 30-60mins at a time of an evening rather than more TV, and whilst cooking, tidying up etc.

‘my question has not been answered really.’
Good job no one else gives a f then!
If I ever do a stand up set,’Mrs Brabermans’ is in my repertoire.
Is your last paragraph meant to be parody?
“The daughter of a Jewish refugee, who came to the UK from Hungary in the 1930s, has delivered a letter to Gary Lineker’s home to thank him for his stance on immigration policy.
Susie Courtalt, 75, said she was thanking the 62-year-old former England footballer for “speaking up for all the people who can’t voice an opinion”.
She told the PA news agency: “I used to live in Barnes and have come up from Brighton to see a play, so I thought I would come and put a letter through the door.
“I just feel he is speaking up for all the people who can’t voice an opinion, including British people.
“My father was very fortunate to leave Hungary in the 1930s where the language was becoming like it is here. My father was 18 and my uncle was 20.
“For the Government, he (Lineker) is someone they want to destroy.””
What’s baffling about it BS? It’s all dependent on the content of those views published on here. If those views are exhibiting hate speech or are discriminatory, don’t be surprised if some posters take issue with it. I suspect, you’re not baffled at all really though, you’re simply free speech warrioring. If you reply do you think you’re able to do so without calling me a w***er this time? No problem with you or anyone else thinking that, but you crossed the line there…’pal’.
Ridiculous view IMO.

Poor comparison awaywego. Having seen the flag, can’t see what the big deal is. You want to censor a flag saying ‘Iron Left’ and ‘supporting NHS workers’?. And this from someone who declares women have no place in the men’s game? Twisted logic. I’m sure they will be taking the flag to matches. I’m sure they’ll be interested to discuss your grievances there.
