‘Changing his mind on two of them after listening to fan feedback’ is open to interpretation, whether you agree on that or not.
The transfers were wild and speculative and backfired. That’s plain for anyone to see and how much has it cost the club? Some accounts would be helpful (or if the transfers fell outside that accounting period then an explanation of the funding model would be helpful). Where are the accounts still btw?
Of course it’s his right to stick by JD. No one would argue otherwise, though plenty are questioning it, and rightly so, based on evidence thus far. A disastrous pre-season will have a major impact on the whole of next season and I’ve seen very little from Hilton and Dean that they know what they’re doing.
That’s my opinion I-A, clearly you think differently so little point in us arguing the toss. I’m also not confident this deal’s going to be completed by 24 May either, but that’s another matter, though not unconnected of course.
On another thread, Ferrite posted this yesterday, which I think is a more sensible post as opposed to either Pro or anti Hilton stances and broad brush conspiracy theory claims, though of course there has been some unsubstantiated claims, on both sides:
‘I think a healthy dose of scepticism is a pre-requisite for any football fan.
Obviously settling the tax debt was important but, otherwise, what positive signs have you seen since Hilton’s takeover?
Because I would point out the following:
– Proposing to move the club to Ilkeston – on non-matchdays
– Proposing to shut down the academy before Tony Daws explained the situation
– Appointing Jimmy Dean & the scatter-gun transfer policyIf we hadn’t had the Swann era, do you reckon you would be cutting him less slack?’.
Before anyone declares they’re not interested in this or have a different opinion, fine, maybe this isn’t for you, no need to declare it.

They’re leaving because he’s a bit more grounded, more in touch with reality, more compassionate in a traditional Christian way you mean? Maybe it’s those leaving that are out of touch and cold-hearted. That said, goes for many atheists and football supporters too. Indeed, look at how many Iron supporters are prepared to turn a blind eye to the treatment of long serving staff if it means they can still attend GP of a weekend (for now).
Quite often don’t agree with 64 Gurney, but he’s right, JI isn’t Les.
You don’t seem to understand, I meant your comment was pointless. Of course we don’t agree, I’m making honest observations, not trying to win a popularity contest. Couldn’t care less if anyone else is bothered or not either. They’re free to ignore it.
I said ‘most people’ bpg and don’t include myself in that.
There are also still unresolved issues like the 1899 club and where that leaves the 50 or so supporters who have handed over nearly £2k each, should the stadium still belong to Swann after 24 May.
Pointless
The only rehashing in this thread is from Hilton acolytes basically telling critics to shut up. ‘Hey ho carry on’? Yeah, as long as you don’t say a bad word about the saviour eh? Some of the abuse and insults posters have received on here for just airing opinion about Hilton has been shameful tbh. So I make no apologies for posting my views to the latest round of attempted silencing and derision.

Most people need a messiah in some way, shape, or form.
I think the timing of the forum (ie pre 24/5 and not after) is a point worthy of discussion.
Don’t think we should be chanting “are you Swanny in disguise?” just yet!
Let’s not exaggerate. No one is chanting that yet are they?
Well done on the responses to mine. Much better than basically telling people to behave, pipedown or shut up, basically, because you don’t like to see it. And Les, yes there is ‘a big distinction between considered criticism and rushing to criticise’ but that’s not happened in this case. Most criticism has been based on some particular actions which are well rehearsed on here and have split opinion. To suggest people have rushed to criticise is rewriting recent history somewhat and quite patronising tbh.

Do you deny that this has happened previously?
Under Hilton/Dean?
As for agenda’s, please don’t turn into another Bucks, I have no agenda’s.
If anyone’s turning in to another Bucks, it appears to be you and numerous others who don’t seem able to accept anyone being critical of Hilton.
Club Stooges (as many as we can find) with approved questions
Christ on a bike, the guy cannot win!!! He must really be wondering what he has walked into here with some of you lot!
That’s a bit rich from a poster who frequently reminds everyone that he had Swann’s number ‘from day one’. So when others respond critically to Hilton you’re all over them? Do me a favour.
I thought the football was as low as we could go but the close season on here is just a frigging shite show. Behave yourselves the lot of ya.
😳 No one’s forcing you to read people’s views. The idea of a forum is that people contribute with views that may not align with yours but you accept and discuss them rather than assuming the role of head teacher.

‘If they are consistent with this, all protest would have grounds for being shut down with arrests. It’s nothing more than authoritarianism, enabled by our hardline home secretaries. It’s disgraceful.’
Bit of a pathetic post in my opinion JI. I read Gurnelista’s post, more of an observation to be honest. Can’t see anywhere in it that he’s suggesting demolishing, dismantling or abolishing anything. No one’s suggesting doing away with the police force either. Doesn’t and shouldn’t mean we can’t be critical of it though. Bit like all these Hilton disciples – can’t handle a bit of questioning of the messiah. Deluded.

Sounds about right Gurney. And Harris is a perpetual guff talker. Always has been.
That’s The Iron Hour I believe.

What a load of old tosh. Nothing’s changing Harris. Wishful thinking.
This is Non Football surely, as it’s more about Politics?
Non-sense more like, with a smattering of ‘school reunion’.

‘pretty common knowledge that fans of many a team chant at the scousers “it’s never your fault” “always the victims” haven’t you heard it?’
No. I’m not a two teamer.

Plus with all the travelling he’d never get any time with Sharon.
Says he only takes on jobs at clubs that ofter some kind of allure, so I think that rules us out.
