You’re wasted on Grimsby Town btw
Agree with you Rich about the heresay. There’s enough stuff out there, recent actions, and actions to come, for supporters to make their own minds up. And we’re never going to all agree on our views about it all, so we’ll see how it develops. We are where we are, as they say.

From what Daz has said in two posts above, I reckon he could get a tune out of them!
True. We can but hope!
The manager should know better than the supporters.
Were Adkins / Crosby big shouters, telling players off? Genuine question – rarely by that area in those days.
There was a lot of shouting and remonstrating from the England coaching staff during the heavy defeat to Iceland. When he wasn’t silent, I could hear Hill bollocking players on the pitch. A lot.
In answer to the subject question, I’d answer: ‘depends what your definition of clueless is?’
Point I’m making was more in reference to a few posts I’ve seen mentioning a business plan in relation to sponsorship. I’m merely saying it’s not normally required for sponsorship agreements, though of course something like that, a plan or strategy would be needed for grant applications. Also had in mind some previous public questioning (not on here) about what happened to the Fewster(?) Sponsorship funds raised and what happened to them with him leaving early? I would imagine the club can spend the funds how they like as long as the sponsor gets what they expect when they sponsored? Don’t know what the agreement was with sponsors so couldn’t comment. That’ll be down to the club and sponsor. Legalities and expectations are distinct things.
Agree with everything above NLI apart the last sentence. Not posting what I think on the matter of staying or going. Firstly, not sure it makes a difference and secondly, I run the risk of being accused of creating division. Suppose that’s pretty clear what I think.
‘Train all week with a plan and then on the Saturday do as you please. No manager is accountable for this. The players have let everyone down.’
Absolutely the players are responsible, but so to is the manager. It’s a results / performance driven business and most managers across every league are judged this way. Apart from that, we don’t know what they do in training all week so we can’t know if they’re ignoring what they’ve been trained to do or not.

Just a note on commercial sponsorship as I’ve many years experience in this field: don’t know how it works in football but for other cultural organisations I’ve worked for, an agreement/contract is made between sponsor and organisation to deliver benefits based on sponsor publicity/logos/naming etc. Producing a business plan to show how and what the funds will be spent on isn’t necessary (only in the selling part to let the sponsor know what sort of things they’ll be helping to achieve). Effectively, this means the receiving organisation can spend those funds on whatever they like. So long as the sponsors benefits are delivered according to the contract, that’s all that matters. Different matter for grants, when the funds are ring-fenced against delivering programme activity. Hope that makes sense.

If they’re all full time, which we’re told they will be, I’d hope they’ll be motivated for every game!

I can understand some supporters thinking Hilton / Dean have received, in their eyes, unfair levels of criticism in general, but signing injured players that are supposed to be quick fixes is poor by any stretch of the imagination.

Funny but an accurate reflection of recent events IMO, given some of the hostility to those who question some of the suggestions being put forward:
Yesterday – ‘We welcome any move of the club to Ilkeston and their World Class facilities, the moaners wouldn’t have a club etc’
Today ‘Staying at Scunthorpe is the best move and proves he listens to us, the non moaners’ pic.twitter.com/dkUPu7sQjY

Contents of the Tweet may or may not be true. It was Yeovil’s owner who posted then deleted it, fact. Why he deleted it is unknown.
Brilliant. Good man.
‘Did he put any money behind the bar in the Tavern on his way home last night?’
Say what?
‘Its time for you all to mobilise and make sure Elliott and Sharp are still there as a back up if things go south in May’.
Don’t think we need to mobilise to do that Rich. They’re still very much around from what I can tell. Simon was at the Gateshead match.

Similar happenings on here and other social media platforms IB. I’m more concerned about the content of your initial post and the posts in the whocallsme link than which football team you may or may not support.

🤣 it’s a ‘mute’ point

This new u-turn is very welcome IMO (naff all to do with me awaywego though I suspect the statement by the Trust and the latest Bru podcast have made a difference).

Great news about the academy and training u-turn. Wonder if Hilton had listened to this?
Valid concerns from the Trust in this statement:
I’m sure we’ll all watch the Iron Hour podcast with him with great interest when it comes out. Hope it’s more than an Ilkeston Town promo video and the guys don’t shy away from tough questions and probing. No reason to suggest they won’t.

Academy I think WG, though if it’s both, plus not mothballing GP during the week and opening just for matchdays (and possibly the day before) I think it would be welcomed by most. No denying that changes needed to be made to the operating budget, but have all options apart from moving everything apart from matchdays been explored fully? I’ll keep saying it too, the way things are going, from suspicious posts from Ilkeston Town fans / employees, to Nelson’s bombshell on BBC Humberside, to academy players and staff reportedly finding out about plans to close via social media, doesn’t inspire confidence. And this is regardless of rumours (a number of which have turned out to be true) and cheap ‘conspiracy theorist!’ shots appearing on here and other social media platforms.

If this guy comes knocking, bet he’s wearing a sling for his broken collar bone. Ouch!!

Who this Patrick guy? Can’t be, he said he worked at the club, 64 years of age. Not suggesting anything fishy are you Mick?
