‘He’s dogged, you’ve got to give him that.’

Had to re-read that. I feel better now.

Lol, bit harsh I reckon awaywego. He’s not doing any harm and it’s easy to ignore if you’re not interested in participating.

At least it’s not crowdfunding for WHAM’s legal fees. Even he didn’t want that – doesn’t like being given funds easily- where’s the fun, the thrill in that eh?!!

Thought that he’d previously said that he was invited to a meeting at the Round Table for discussions.
Either he’s jumped the gun or hasn’t listened?

    Round Table? Knights of…??

Yes, it’s a myth about the trains running on time, I think that was ironawe’s point? However, claiming he couldn’t get the trains to run at all is false.

Yeah, exactly why he, or anyone else for that matter, should see their GP ASAP if they have any symptoms like that. He’s worthy of piss taking for the stick he gave some Iron supporters but I’m sure no one wishes any sinister illness on him.

what on earth is all that about?! I don’t know what’s worse – reading about his backside issues or his latest racist retweet.

For those not on Twitter / X, in case you’re wondering (which you’re probably not), he’s an Ilkeston Town uber fan that completely unecessarily told an Iron fan what to do in those exact terms.

Wonder if Rene ever read that on Notts drug gangs and organised crime? I got a copy but haven’t read it yet though a little surprisingly, when I mentioned it to a relative who isn’t interested in the Iron at all, turned out he had read it already and rated it.

Some interesting choices above that I might investigate. Particularly like the sound of the Galeano and Savage books.

Ilkeston v Basford is still on. Still time to make it if you set off now. While you’re there, ask Pat how much he knew about what his mate was up to at GP. And if you see Skillington, tell him to go f*^% himself ;)

Been catching up on some fairly recent Decoding the Guru’s podcasts recently, mainly thanks to a Christmas present, a winter hat with mini Bluetooth speakers in it. Perfect for listening to downloaded podcasts whilst walking the dog (might look a bit odd to passers by, loudly guffawing to myself and occasionally exclaiming ‘ffs!!’). The one on Noam Chomsky was great and enjoying the recent one on Sam Harris being interviewed by Chris Williamson. This much shorter video one was good too…

Parallel Lines – classic songs and sleeve design. Aged a bit production wise. Atomic and Rapture still sound good on vinyl though. After that album of course. Interesting how Clem Burke managed to position himself as a highly respected drummer in recent times. Bit meat and two veg IMO.

Nowt wrong with a bit of fishing info.

Quite interesting fact from the Jan issue; out of the near half million fish that have been restocked in the rivers and lakes this year from rod licence fees, the Barbel was the most (125k). Bream, Roach amd Chubb around 50k each.

It being postponed at least gives some supporters the opportunity to wheel out the old cliche about the prospect of being ‘dragged around the shops by the missus’, like they’re in an episode of On the Buses, despite looking about 12.

Just to be clear for the more cognitively challenged amongst us, I’m not remotely implying there hasn’t been games called off out of convenience before. I seriously doubt this is an example of one and to suggest it is ventures in to conspiracy.

Some very odd views on the Facebook page, ranging from weather and pitch experts claiming it should definitely be on with absolute certainty to conspiracy theorists claiming we want the match off to have players back from injury in a rearranged fixture, despite the club needing a postponement like a hole in the head. How about the boring but more likely explanation if it’s called off that the pitch is so frozen in parts it just won’t thaw in time? The Facebook page-the home of the irrational.

If memory serves, produced by the legendary Conny Plank who produced a lot of ‘Krautrock’ including early Kraftwerk. Or they worked with him on some recordings, if not this one.
