It’s not wrong to question at all, when there’s something really worth questioning and making such a big deal about. You’re a bit wrong about ‘happy clappers’ and the Hilton era btw. That was mainly alluding to the Swann era. The worst Hilton supporters were deluded and abusive, as I’m sure you know. But we don’t know what he was on under Hilton. I’m sceptical about this ‘just over the minimum wage’ myself. ‘65% cut’ hasn’t been verified by anyone either. Not suggesting his wife is making things up but the club haven’t verified it. Anyway, time to move on from this episode IMO.

Exactly. I think we do need another forward but might struggle to get a ‘proven goalscorer’ from a decent level. Ideally I’d like to see a decent forward who has potential and ability but is perhaps being held back wherever he’s playing, for whatever reason, and is less expensive

Indeed. Butler suggested fitness levels were going to be worked on. Maybe he’s already worked out he needs players who can last the 90 regularly. How many times did a ponderous build up allow the opposition to regroup amd get behind the ball? Great to see Shrimpton is staying on. Young, fit, handy and hungry.

Butterfield’s an exceptional one off player who should always have been higher than regional level. No one is irreplaceable.
