Not bought a replica shirt since 98. From the many images I saw of them on flabby flesh, the crewnecks seemed to be out of shape / wide as the season progressed. Didn’t look like they were keeping their shape well. If that’s the case I hope Kelme are addressing that
I think Southgate’s generally had the press on his side during his tenure. Any criticisms of his tactics, formations and in game decision making hasn’t been unjustified. I think he’s been great for England on numerous levels but I think it’s time for a change after this tournament. Believe he may have said or intimated that himself anyway?

‘I think there is already an over-the-top level of criticism in the press and among England fans about last night’s performance’
Tbh, I’ve not read any press about last night’s match. Just commenting on what i saw for 90mins and offering my view.
‘It was a good win against the best team in the group that virtually guarantees qualification, in a formation that gets the most out of the team’s best player. Lots to be positive about.’
It was a win,but I wouldn’t say it was a good win. More hanging on in the second half hoping not to concede. Don’t particularly like the tactic, if that’s what tne plan was,to build it all around trying to get the most out of ‘the best player’. Maybe doing that was part of the problem? Certainly didn’t look very team like all second half and I don’t think it got the best out of others like Foden and Kane. Trent made some good passes in his role but he gave the ball away too much in a position you can’t be doing that in for long without getting punished.
I’ve been accused by some friends of not being happy for predicting a narrow defeat and also expecting too much by others. Can’t win with some people! There must be something to be said for ‘happy clapping’ after all.
I think that’s fair. At least you’re actually commenting on what you witnessd last night as opposed to reeling off stuff on the periphery of it. Yeah, some fans maybe do expect too much (saw quite a few 4 and 5 nil predictions last night. Mine was 2-1 to Serbia), but i also think there’s nothing wrong with pointing out obvious failings witnessed. I find it patronising when supporters with legitimate criticisms are tarred with some sort of ‘Premier league loving entitled brat’ brush, as some often do. Inverted snobbery. It’s possible to appreciate football at all levels, and many fans do.

Thought Bowen looked good when he came on. Saka ran out of legs early second half I reckon. Mainoo is an exciting prospect. Amazing ball control
I don’t think justly criticising players for their performances makes them scapegoats. They’re not beyond criticism. Though I’ve heard more criticism of players like Trent, Tripper and Foden being played out of position than leveled directly at them. Why leave a player on for the full 90 when he’s not impacting on the game? Particularly when you have the likes of Palmer and Gordon who can have an immediate impact?

Yes, he is too defensive. Too often the team drifts into sitting back and deep after going ahead, unecessarily inviting pressure. I wouldn’t say England are no good, but IMO they are not fulfilling their potential in the slightest and the tactical nous looks bereft. Against a better side last night they’d have lost 2-1. I have no confidence in them dealing with the tournaments best. Really screwed if they go behind too. Just my opinion
Southgate took England as far as he could some years ago IMO.
I’ve seen a lot of ‘a win’s a win’ guff. Deluded dreamers ignoring the many negative aspects of the performance from an embarrassment of riches. Reminds me of a lot of the pro-Dean guff Iron fans came out with, wanging on about still being second in the table while ignoring the performance. When people start saying ‘Shearer’s right’ you know there’s something wrong.
Biggest dillema for me is Trent in midfield didn’t work, but the alternatives aren’t inspiring either. Gallagher for Trent was the right move but can he truly excel as a solid partner for Rice from the off? Don’t think so. That said, the dropping off yet again, was the biggest mistake
‘A potential Man utd manager!’
Things you’d like to see ;)
Ditto all the above.
Didn’t realise he was playing in that. Past his sell by date by then. Leeds were rubbish in that era
.Not ‘never’. Alan Rough and David Harvey were good. The latter was FIFA keeper of 74 too.
I’ve seen more England games that are like the Iron of recent years tbh. Scotland were worse than that last night.
Fair comment 414. Though no one’s perfect. I would offer up that those untrusting and suspicious traits were exacerbated by the antics of Hilton and his cronies mind. Rarely happened before he came along. You’d agree with that?
I remember Cyril Nottingham’s SDP carrier bags. Well made tbf.

A vote for Reform is like sticking your head in a hornets nest
Lol, Bad Apple?! And he accuses others of being idiotic and ‘on crack’.
If anybody knew Badapple then you wouldn’t be stupid enough just to think he would leave the forum and not have other accounts he posts on. Badapple had a track record of such behaviour.
It wouldn’t even surprise me if he currently had more than one.
If believing that’Bad Apple’ and ‘awaywego’ are the same person makes you happy, who am I to deny it? Fill your boots.
‘Almost’? Some compliment from you that is!
