I think your predictive text was wrong les, did you mean incompetant?

There are things learned from last night…
Beestin, Butterfield and Whitehouse are good players in their own right but as shown against Woking they don’t have the athleticism/ mobility to match up against some of the players from this league.
I don’t think you can fault Beestin’s performance last night.

Couldn’t support the idea of O’Malley on the left of a MF 3 but happy if in a 4-4-2 for his crossing ability alone. If we’re going to play 2 strikers then play them as a pair down the middle not p*****g about out wide. Finally – get the other 4 in asap.
Sad to see Delaney in Morecambe’s team yesterday.
Makes a change from bullshine doesn’t it? I wonder if accepting responsibilty for failure will be the new norm at GP.
Let’s hope that Keith’s tactics (?) confused him as much as everybody else. He can’t possibly know which of his many formations Keith will use on Saturday.
I’d guess his notes were limited to “Saturday – piece of p***”2 users thanked author for this post.
Last night must rank on a par with last seasons worst performances, surely a basic necessity for a footballer at any level is the ability to pass the ball to a teammate. Hills 42 changes of formation confused the players (HIS players) to such an extent that we were shambolic (generous description) Back 5 aside the rest must have played in at least 3 positions each at various times. It’s a simple game Keith (especially at our level) – just keep it simple!

The only good thing about that was Nigel .
Somebody should have told him that we don’t have Kieran Westwood in goal.

Clean sheet???? You are high Daz.

The lad can’t be very bright. I’m sure all the various coaches he’s had have told him how to maximise his undoubted ability and he clearly thinks they’re all wrong. What a waste, ability without dedication can only take you so far.
Let me throw another name into the mix without lessening the blame on Boyce and Taft. Could Dewhurst have claimed the ball before the opposition players for the first two?
Both well inside the 6 yard box.Daniel’s a LB playing LW and he looks like one too. We need 2 strikers up there as well.
[/quote]Daniel is a utility player – invaluable at this level. He played up front once and scored 2 don’t forget.
Bob Neymar and Dick Ronaldo?
I would suggest that all board members, except Lee and Neil, are fully updated regarding any potential sale.

Blimey!!!! 40 points behind after 1 week, it’s going to be a long season. Well done Ironitis you obviously know the NL. (Hope you bought a lottery ticket on Saturday)
“VANARAMA National League promotion favourites Wrexham are paying one of their goalkeepers an astonishing £6,000 per week, according to York City manager John Askey.”
If it’s Rory then maybe that’s why he’s not in L1 or L2, if it’s Howard then no wonder he’s not still here.
4 is mad. I reckon we only need a CB and a wide player.
First 11 is OK but squad is still lacking depth, 4 would just about do it. Injuries to Butterfield, Boyce & Nuttall (for example) would see us struggle IMO.

I used to enjoy listening to George when he waited for a gap in commentary and was asked to comment. Latterly he interrupted commentary unasked, often to tell a story about something that happened to him years ago. We ended up with about 60 minutes commentary and 30 minutes of George’s memories. I wish you well George but Tom is doing the job properly now.

Had 1-1 in the Prediction League all week but a sudden rush of optimism has got me changing it to 2-1.
UTII’ve gone the other way, changing my 1-1 to 0-1. I’m hoping for better but decided to guarantee either league point(s) (preferable) or PL points.
B******s!! Well done Iron. (And MKI)

August 5, 2022 at 8:38 pm in reply to: Will Today be the day for the takeover to go through ? #242118Didn’t seem to take long for the ground to get from The Iron to Coolsilk.
So he’s gone, I didn’t even know he was here.

It is obvious from the online version that I read, where their priorities lie. It is even more obvious in football matters. There are often 3 or 4 new articles per day about GT, we’ve had 4 articles in the last 3 weeks.

He’s secured his move, this season will be a test of his attitude.
August 5, 2022 at 9:01 am in reply to: Will Today be the day for the takeover to go through ? #242063But surely the Fit & Proper Persons test would be one of tha last things needed for completion. That wouldn’t be done in the early stages of the process would it? If they’re waiting for the pre-match warm up to make the announcement then they could be missing out on a few hundred supporters that would turn up if new owners were revealed today.
Sam Burns got a lot of goals for Blackburn’s youth teams… Not sure it’s the most reliable bellweather.
Too true, I was hedging my bets by using “might, maybe and ?”

From Nuttall’s Wiki:-
“Premier League 2
After arriving on trial in July, Nuttall went on to contribute 14 goals in 15 appearances and gained two assists. It was after ten goals in seven games midway through October for the development squad that Nuttall was promoted into the first team, before dropping back down into the development squad towards the end of January 2018. On 12 May Nuttall was one of seven players nominated for Premier League 2 Player of the Season. Also, despite his 13 appearances in the Blackburn first team, Nuttall finished as the Premier League 2’s second-top goalscorer with 14 goals, behind Lukas Nmecha’s 15 strikes.”Shows what he might do at our new level maybe?
