Neither does he have the experience we need in that vital position. Just an opinion of course.

Shame some of our players couldn’t pass the ball as successfully as he passed his fag, they wouldn’t have got it back like he did.

What’s the prediction every game every week?
5 games every match day that The Iron are playing, selected by SST. Always includes our game, I’m sure SST will post the rules for newcomers. (Free Tip:- Iron nil usually gets you points)
I’m still undecided about whether he needs a nippy partner or a target man alongside him. Doesn’t yet win enough in the air to convince me that’s his best role. According to the text commentary he seemed to be putting plenty of effort in and chasing a lost cause got him a goal. Plenty to prove but looks as if he’s going to give it a good go.
And standing on one leg.

Some of our worst signings ever have been ‘experienced’.
It suits your argument to forget Townsend, Wallace, Keogh, Sharp, Hooper, Hayes, Holmes, Toney, Paterson, Yates, Hodges etc.
Your argument, not mine, was about experienced signings being poor, I gave some examples to illustrate otherwise. What do the names you mention have to do with that?
Why so ageist? How old were Cox, Stanton, Housham, Butler, Ridley, Sparrow, Haks etc when they made their debuts for the Iron.
Some of our worst signings ever have been ‘experienced’.It suits your argument to forget experienced signings like Torpey, Beagrie, Mussy, Crozzer, Barra. Gilks et al and focus on Iwelumo, Ormondroyd, Horsfield, Johnson and the others.

Bunney – 186 appearances in 10 seasons, company for Hallam?

I know that mick, all I’m saying is he’s under 20, cheap and has been at Rochdale. What more does Hill want? Personally I don’t see the point of even giving trials to the type of player we don’t need.

A cheaper version of Matheson probably. According to a certain website he’s on £200 pw so he fits the bill perfectly. Team for NLN taking shape.
Give it up until we actually sign some players with experience and hopefully some quality. If more than 6 of those start the first league game we’ve got no chance.

Should be a breeze Rich, Bru posters know b….. all about the NL.
(Or football in general in some cases)Scored 2 – the plan must be coming together.

Chorlton at RB vs Middlesbrough. 18yo Louie Chorlton used to be at Rochdale so probably him, he fits the profile of a likely Hillite.
The current policy seems to focus on getting off-field posts filled rather than on-field.
Could be our saviour?
Jake Eastwood? Yes please.
Looks liker we’re in for him, scored 4 in 40 last season. Alabi must have been the shite striker mentioned the other week that we were interested in.
If he does come in, we have 2 target men. All we need now are two goal scorers on a shoe string budget.
Good luck Keith. You’re going to need it!Maybe we’ve not seen the best of Nuttall because he’s been used as a target man when he isn’t really. Alongside a true target man he could be the goalscorer we need.
Or maybe not.“Today, Leanne Mayo has stepped down from the Chief Executive Officer role. Leanne is staying on as a director.”
WHY?
SUFC directors salary must be decent then! Shame the players salary isn’t as good as the off-field staff.

Where do you get your weed from cass, it sounds seriously good shit.
I got it from UTI99, can’t you tell! I probably shouldn’t have used it all at once though.

Things will look different when we announce the signings next week of:-
Kieran O’Hara
Kgosi Ntlhe
Ryan Delaney
Elliott Whitehouse
Matt Done
Tyrese Sinclair and
Sam BurnsWithout the real youngsters we currently have 8 players. Of those 1 is almost always injured and 2 others often injured, plus the long Covid case struggling for fitness. So probably 4 we can rely on to be regularly available. I’d be even more concerned if UTI99 hadn’t assured me that I could relax as there is loads of time to put this right.
The youth part of the plan will be OK, it’s cheap. The problem might lie with the experience needed for balance which could be too expensive at the moment. That will be cheaper when the offerings have been picked over and just the oddments are left.

Kieran O’Hara, released by Fleetwood, would be better IMO.
Is it reasonable to assume that if any of the trialists had been really impressive we might have signed them up after a week?
Are they a bunch of duffers who will be shipped out and another load brought in?
Are they just using us to get fit until they get a better offer?
Does anybody recognise a trialist face or two from the training photos?1 user thanked author for this post.
What are the true figures Steve?
How many of those currently training including the 3 known trialists are you already writing off as not good enough for the NL?
Bunney. I’d take Ntlhe subject to fitness and also Whitehouse if he’s the other confirmed. I don’t think many of last back ends youngsters are ready yet but happy to be proved wrong.
The season is 5 1/2 weeks away yet.
Our first home friendly isn’t for another 2 1/2 weeks.
The National League also doesn’t have a transfer window so we can add to the squad as and when players become available. Relax. You are completely (maybe deliberately) missing the point that les and others are making. Yes, we have 5 1/2 weeks until the season starts so we could sign players then and later but the players then have to integrate and probably catch up fitness wise. Surely even a blinkered “I’ll clap whatever” like you can see how problematic this is. We can sign 10 players in December, integrate them by February and have them fit for March just in time to participate in next seasons relegation. All players need to be ready to go in 4-5 weeks to give us the best chance of survival.
Basic economics.
More income = more available for expenditure, no argument with that. Who told you that additional income from season ticket sales would be used for Hill’s budget was the question.
