Don’t forget all the ‘big club’ academy graduates that get a couple of meaningless first team games and are then sold for a few million.
I’ve just read Carver’s interview, this delusion is spreading.

If any further evidence of Daws delusion was required here’s a snippet from his latest statement:-
” We’re doing our best, and we’re going out to attack.”
Personally I don’t believe either part is true.

This squad is not bad, a bit thin but not bad. We have (IMO) 7 or 8 players well capable of playing above the level at which we find ourselves, so why are they not performing?
Badly managed?
Badly coached?
Demotivated?Tactics that don’t play to their strengths?
Friction between players?
I wush I knew – but somebody must and clearly can’t sort it!!1 user thanked author for this post.
After 17 years there should be!!

Don’t agree that Daniels was a bad signing, utility players always necessary in a small squad, but his injury record is worrying.
Fully agree with the rest of your post.I asked (on here) for a Daws defender to list regular first teamers produced by his team. The request went unanswered. If MD has accused you of being harsh then ask him the same question to justify his response.
If they’re too busy falling out to train then that would explain a lot.

It’s football we come to watch, tactics ,tackles, goals from both teams.
Sadly too many of those have been missing for too long.

Tony Daws said we should have won 4-0.
From Kent Messenger Online:-
“Hakan Hayrettin said Scunthorpe boss Tony Daws was deluded after reading comments from his opposite number following Maidstone’s victory.”
I find it hard to disagree.

Swann’s not going to lose either way as the land he kindly signed over to his company is worth a fair amount and he get’s that even if the clubs goes bust.
All he would have to do is sell it on to developers and then he’ll trot off into the sunset.
Swann won’t be that bothered if we go under as he has assets already in his companies name. There’s no flies on Swannster. But he’s going to give the ground back, he said so.
I notice we didn’t get the supporters rallying cry from the COO for this game. Has he lost interest as well?
We’ll get one on Friday when he attempts to sell tickets for Maidstone.
Special guest Gary Mcsheffery, oh dear oh dear, another perma crock from the past and recently sacked by Donny.
Nothing from Lee again. Has he run out of things positive or is the scriptwriter out of ideas.
Thread title bang on.Last one out, turn off the lights.

None at GP though!!

I was there, I remember now. Thanks IA.
No money to add to the squad was clear from LT’s last interview. Unless Carver back means Nuttall out and money available?

Older posters will be able to tell us if we would have joined at a later round in the 1960s when we were in the second tier.
Whilst us older posters were certainly around in the 60’s, remembering what happened is a major problem. What I had for tea yesterday is about as far back as I can remember.

We would do better if we could get our efforts the right side of the woodwork.
Spot on mick. I’m 70+ and long retired from playing football but if I’d been in goal for Eastleigh last night we still wouldn’t have scored. Not the first time this season we’ve failed to test the oppositions keeper either!
Evidently the Wrexham game in doubt if the wages don’t reach staff bank accounts.
A ‘strike’ ?
Unlikely, we’re short of strikers, have been for a few seasons
From the OWS:-
“Scunthorpe United’s Academy is advertising for the full-time position of Player Care Officer
We’re also looking to employ a Foundation Phase Co-ordinator”Would suggest that paying staff is not a major issue wouldn’t it?

A bit harsh les. I’ve just seen the highlights and Beestin certainly made an effort to block the shot. Was he a bit slow to react – maybe, but to say he “watched” the player shoot is a bit unfair IMO.

There’s a difference between criticism (often justified this season) and abuse which is unnecessary and always unproductive. I’d expect fans to know the difference.

Kgosi was booked then got a talking to by the ref so probably just avoiding him getting sent off.
I completely understand the reason for the substitution, that wasn’t the point of my post.
Do we read anything into the Ntlhe substitution? Could have gone like for like with Taft but decided to move Ogle, move Rowe and bring on Pugh out of position. Mmmmm.
You had a brush – luxury. We had to lick the yard clean!!

We were due a good loanee after some of the dross we’ve had lately and we struck lucky with Apter. No more from Middlesbrough please but Huddersfield and Forest have been good to us.
I know what you mean, I’m a much better cricketer from my chair than I ever was on the field.
Aye, can’t deny he’s no worse than Hill. Or Cox for that matter.
Cox seems to have more management nous from the commentary box than he ever did from the dugout.

If, a big if I know, he stays with us then Blackpool can recall him if they want to use him. If he moves elsewhere he’s lost to them for the season. We can hope.
