I think the 3 were on the assumption that Butterfield and Wilson were away. Maybe the striker we were having a look at didn’t impress. Still think we’re a striker short though, can’t see it being Lavery even if DH does another U turn.
Don’t forget “I will give the ground back”

You’ve decided that’s important now have you?

If Hilton thinks that everything posted on Bru is down to Matt alone then he needs to reconsider. There are many diverse views on here they couldn’t possibly be the work of one (or even a dozen) people. There are accusations of negativity on Bru, there is some that’s true, but most are, to my mind, scepticism and who can be surprised at that given the happenings under the previous owner. The real ante Hilton faction is very limited IMO, no more than there would be whoever the owner was, that’s football clubs I’m afraid. I doubt there’s a club anywhere above local league where the owner has 100% support and is above criticism.

Strange how some on FB want to pick non existant holes in Bru posts and now the Trust statement, reporting that ” Both parties say that they want the best for SUFC and its fans” is seen as supporting Swann over Hilton, a bizarre conclusion to say the least. The earlier statement ” Over the years we have at times been very critical of Mr Swann: running up club debt, stopping fans and the Trust from buying shares in SUFC, ignoring fan groups, removing club assets to Coolsilk etc.” would seem to me to make their position very clear.
For added clarity I am not the author of this statement.
Where can I find Hiltons “retaliation” please?1 user thanked author for this post.
Keep politicians away from the boardroom.
I’d still like to know the actual squad numbers.
Probably Jimmy hasn’t decided yet, maybe before the final couple of friendlies things will become clearer. Some of the remainers might want to keep the same number (Elliott 5) and some of the newcomers might have a preference based on previous experience. Whatever happens the chances of the first NLN match starting with 1-11 are slim IMO.
Don’t agree, different games have different objectives. Almost certainly players were looking after themselves yesterday, get fitter, get back to match football with new colleagues and don’t get injured (for example )would be far more important than the result.

Read the thread from the beginning.
DS-F also missing.
4-1-4-1?
A good few on here won’t have a clue what you’re on about. Lucky for you there’s a few old farts like me around to appreciate your (attempt at) humour.

I was an employee all my working life and have zero knowledge of filing accounts. Can somebody who knows (not think they know) explain why accounts need to be filed for a company that Mr Hilton only took over in January.
Pretty sure within one of White’s posts on Facebook over the last few days he said the new players were in the process of being registered by the new club secretary, which perhaps indicates they all haven’t yet?
With the exception of Roberts all the new “signings” were more than a month ago. Doesn’t look good for the efficiency of the new secretary.
Who is it BTW?Unregistered players might be able to play in a friendly. However I guess (and I stress guess) that they wouldn’t be insured so a serious injury could be a disaster for a player. Maybe Jimmy’s HOPE means he hopes enough players will be prepared to take a chance. I think we’ve got enough from last season for a starting 11 but Mussy & Butler could be among the subs. (BTW I hope my guess is wrong.)
I thought the Facebook crew were pro-Hilton and Iron Bru the supposed opposition?
Nobody from Bru banned from GP yet I hope.A few names there that are a complete mystery to me.
And another?
” York City have signed their second centre-back of the day, bringing in Solihull Moors defender Callum Howe on an undisclosed fee.”1 user thanked author for this post.
Very true, how long since we actually improved a player?
Is vermin better than morons or worse?
If Hilton is using the unregistered land as an “excuse” not to complete the sale then surely Swann registering the land will allow the sale to complete or call his bluff.
This assumes, of course, that Swann still wants to sell and Hilton has the funds to buy. If the info above is true regarding the simplicity of registering the land then things could be sorted next week, or am I dreaming?1 user thanked author for this post.
“I can assure everyone that once all this has been completed, the ground and training facilities will be back in Scunthorpe United Ownership.” PS
“I’m pleased to say the takeover has now been completed, and the deal includes the football club, stadium and surrounding land.” DH1 user thanked author for this post.
I’d be disappointed if he wasn’t trying to get info from all sides, including Swann,
Only if the purpose of obtaining that information was to share it with forum members though surely.
Just to make my position clear, I am a fan, a poster and have never had any contact whatsoever with Mr Swann and am delighted that the club I have supported for many years is still in existance thanks to Mr Hilton. I find it hard to believe that there are any Iron fans with a desire to liase with Mr Swann given the result of his tenure.
On Bru there may have been some negativity (I would call much of it scepticism but what’s in a name?) There have also been many posts in support and requesting support for the new chairman and comparing the number of negative versus positive posters rather than negative versus positive posts might give a different picture.3 users thanked author for this post.
Just looking at the updated website for players.
We have 2 keepers – tick.
We have 8 defenders – tick.
We have 13 MFs – too many.
We have 2 forwards – not enough! (Poulter not there??)I wish I’d said credulous
But not acocunts?
I bet Gloucester don’t see themselves as Northern. A trip to Blyth doesn’t sound like regional football for them. (and vice versa of course)
Genuine enquiry not an attempt to stir – Why was there no issue with the ‘ransom land’ when Swann bought from Wharton?
TBF your OP could hardly be described as constructive could it?
Constructive is exactly what it was.
It was there to make the intelligent among us think, which is exactly what everyone on here did with the exception of Prat O’ Cake and obviously yourself.
I was unaware that the forum rules forbid posting cryptic posts. So it was cryptic rather than constructive then?
