Jimmy’s subs mostly seem to be defensive to protect what we’ve got. If we start with Roberts, Whitehall & Smith/Beestin replacing them after 60/70 minutes with Law, Elliott & Wilson would give tiring opposition legs (especially P/T) plenty to worry about.
Maxi in front of the back 4 might (only might) have been a better option. The way we were defending a bit more height could have helped.

Pugh will never be the answer.
Beestin and Wilson both available for his position so don’t need DSF IMO.
I’d like to keep Smith though.2 users thanked author for this post.
Give over, there’s nearly half a season left.

Harsh!! How many points has he won us?
For the second game in a row the second half was a terrible performance from The Iron. It can’t continue Jimmy – get it sorted!!
Could be because it’s FA Cup day and not Prem?
What it will come down to is what we can afford. There’ll be ‘nice to haves’ that just don’t fit within the sustainable budget.
From the Fishy bit of the GT/ST:-
“It is not beyond the realms of possibility that they bring in a more experienced goalkeeper who, vitally, is confident with the ball at their feet. If a coach wants their team to play short from the back, then the goalkeeper has to feel comfortable in possession, as they are at the start of every move and the first pass out can often be crucial in determining whether the team can progress the ball quickly or not.”Any names come to mind?
Nobody is asking him to change the way he plays apart from the bit where he throws himself to the ground for no apparent reason.
AFAIR he hasn’t been booked for “simulation” which would suggest there’s some sort of contact. Funneling down from the Prem., don’t forget the slightest touch is potentially a foul. Today’s players would have been ridiculed 50 or so years ago for their reaction to tackles, now, sadly, part of the game.
“We’ll miss him, Elliott is a poor fit for our system.”
The system we used at Gainsborough seemed to work OK for him.
I’m still waiting for a reply to my emails to the SLO if we still have one and, as I mentioned before, this is costing the club money. Maybe one of the new staff members is to fill this role.
Things can’t be that bad surely!! Rather have Butler than Carver.
Mybe the only bloke that can give an answer is “unavailable”.
That second half was a terrible watch. Was Jimmy’s HT team talk ” we’re in front so forget about passing just kick it as far as you can.” That was Plan B was it?
Would DSF get that left sided attacking spot in front of Beestin or Wilson? On the right he’d be behind Roberts and Law. Can we afford 3 options in any position?
Or he could be just a very keen fan trying to help in some way.
Don’t just take a cheap shot at a trier, it might prove to be misguided but give him a chance.8 users thanked author for this post.
Need to be talking to some players/agents in January to agree reduced terms for next season. A significant reduction for some should still be attractive in NL/NLN.
Let’s hope they like him enough to buy him then.
Farsley added an experienced head in the forwards – Michael Coulson. Doesn’t need inviting twice to have a shot so will need to be up for a challenge.
44 appearances and 15 goals in the last 6 seasons (Wiki) would suggest we might not have much to worry about, although I suppose 1 in 3 isn’t a bad return.
In Farsley?
How many of this years squad are on two year deals?. Could we not build around them?.
I think that contracted for next season are:-
Whitehall, Kelly, Fitzsimons, Kouogan, Roberts and Law.
Butterfield has said he’s happy to stay but I guess it would have to be on reduced terms. Needs negotiating if possible.Danny Elliott?

Different matter, similar outcome – no response. If we have a SLO then he’s not doing his job by ignoring correspondence.
BTW I emailed on another different matter in the summer, sent a couple of reminders and then gave up which appears to be the SLO preferred outcome.I emailed SLO on 20th November and have sent two “reminders.” A reply is still awaited to a very simple question, the lack of a reply is losing the club money.
Well done on getting this on a football forum.

Hereford OWS:-
“An EFL match official has carried out a precautionary pitch inspection and is happy that the pitch, whilst firm in places, has a good chance of being playable by 3pm. We have liaised with the match referee and Scunthorpe and will continue to monitor the pitch, but we are confident that the game will go ahead. We are planning to remove the covers at 10:30am and are calling on our fantastic fans to help.” -
