Likely to be the primary consideration for our summer recruitment.

Manager & scout(s), manager with final say. Nobody else needs to be involved.

agree about the pictures Cass, reminded me of going to see us at Newcastle at the back of that massive stand, but thought the commentary was pretty fair

Should have made it clear I had the Southport commentary, I guess you had RH. I’m not bright enough to know how to do that.

Forgot to mention earlier but can’t let it pass without comment.
The stream yesterday left much to be desired. Pictures varied between just acceptable, looking through the wrong end of a telescope and looking through the bottom of a beer glass that had been emptied several times. Really not good enough, was the ‘cameraman’ a 15yo on work experience during the Easter break. Commentary? (was it) almost unintelligible.
    Cracking result though!!

How the hell Pugh got 2 full games without contributing anything of note baffles me.
I understand the need for rotation over the Easter weekend but Corbett & Clarke hardly got a look in. Has next seasons recruiter made up his mind?
As an aside, I thought Southport’s Umami was quite tasty.

I see Spennymoor paid for their efforts against The Iron losing 2-0 to South Shields. If memory serves this has happened plenty this season, Rene has time on his hands so maybe he can be bothered to check.

This week it’s Kings Lynn. Come on Rene, let’s have the facts.

But if they always play better against us then what can Jimmy do?

Used wrongly – it’s that simple. (To the untrained eye, to professionals it’s clearly more difficult)

Balls on the deck for Elliott and he would have skinned the giants surely

Big ask when there’s hardly any space to run in to and surrounded by 3 giants. You also have to factor in that his game doesn’t lend it’s self to be played in the lone striker role as we’ve seen evidence of many times before.

Worth a try surely? At least it would have been something different but “different” isn’t really Jimmy’s thing is it.

Cheaper than McAlinden, Law, Clarke & Corbett?
    Better than Youmbi?

Balls on the deck for Elliott and he would have skinned the giants surely. If we’d played 2 up and still given them the ball in the air it wouldn’t have made any difference IMO.

And Dean’s taking us through the playoffs? Didn’t bode well before. Certainly doesn’t if he knows he is being replaced and by who.

Getting ahead of yourself Deeryme, whoever is in charge of recruitment is not necessarily the same as who is the manager.

A system which proved unsuccessful under Swann and, arguably, bears some responsibilty for our current situation. Have we learned nothing!!!!!! It’s possibly happening already, unlikely Jimmy picked Youmbi isn’t it?

You have to ask why Dean or his coaches couldn’t see this. Neither Elliot or Whitehall stood a chance.

It wasn’t Dean or the coaches that kept giving them the ball in the air. Surely pro footballers don’t need that pointing out to them or were they “just following orders”?

Not hard to do but harder to do well.
Not hard to do for 2, 4 or 6 harder to do for 40.

When they beat us earlier they were out of form (supposedly) but raised their game against the league winners (supposedly again!)

KL manager, where do they get this from?

“Scunthorpe is going to be a completely different challenge because we’re away from home, they’re a big club with a big fan base, a massive budget and a big squad.”

“Lakeland also played down the gulf in budgets between the two clubs, despite Scunthorpe having a pot of gold to play with.”

I agree with WG (lie down, glass of water and medication) I don’t think he’s perfect but I find it hard to criticise Jimmy after that performance.

He made some good saves and one (Clunan) that was made easy for him. Doubtful if he’d have got MOM if our ‘goal’ had counted. No wonder he laughed, win/win for him.

When they countered we had 2 or 3 players in our box, when we attacked they had 8 or 9 back because we took too long.

I’ve asked this before, why didn’t this apply when we were in the Championship? Then all the refs seemed to favour the “big” teams when they were playing us.(Or so we thought)

    Not really.
“Promotion Finals in the Vanarama National League North and South will take place at the home ground of the finalist club who finished higher in the league table during the regular season.”
