Another picture at the end of the run would be interesting.
When firstly asked on his reaction to joining the club, Campbell stated: “I’m buzzing because it’s what I’ve wanted all summer, and I’m delighted to finally get it over the line.”
Just the attitude I want from new signings.
(No reason to believe it’s ungenuine before the doubters emerge!)1 user thanked author for this post.
Let’s hope he feels a la Maison here. (French joke!)

He’s here!!! That’s two non-playing jobs filled today. Players tomorrow? They’ve already missed the start of pre-season, we don’t want them missing much more.

I wish I could tell you where, I could have dreamt it but I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure it was in a Butler/Turnbull interview soon after Butler’s appointment.
Butlers two principal, targetted signings still to come. Next week hopefully.

It’s a concern that he’s behind Rory Watson certainly but, at 20, he could get better. (Plus York are a BIG club in a higher league) Mussy’s coaching will turn him into a top keeper just like all the others he’s taught.
Maison Campbell has had his York City contract terminated by mutual consent.
Iron back up keeper perhaps? 20 years old, from Nottingham and probably not too expensive.Young, cheap, local and we’ve had a look at him. Ticks all the boxes.
Well he’s known as a CM but if you insist:-
Joe Hart
RB. CB. Joleon Lescott LB
Beckham Phillips CM. Foden
CF. KeeganKalvin Phillips nailed on surely.
Statistics!!! I sometimes wonder if players are more concerned with their pass success rate than the teams performance and result. A player comes off congratulating himself on a 100% pass completion stat. Nobody points out that 99% of his passes were backwards or sideways, 1% forward and only 5% more than 5 metres. His conclusion – I’ve had a great game, it must have been the others.
Same training course as Jimmy Dean?
If they’re deemed worthy of a starting spot then why are they coming in on trial as opposed to being signed immediately?
Also for the fans moaning about us taking old players on trial, Turnbull has said countless times and again the other day that we’re looking for young energetic players as we already have experience at the club.
There will be no players coming here on trial looking for a last pay day. Calm down!Where are the posts moaning about taking old players on trial please.
Location also a factor. No good looking at players released by, for example, AFC Wimbledon if he’s got kids at school and has never been north of Watford. Any of those released by Donny or The Cods any good? Is Corbett still available?
Fair point but I wouldn’t mind a couple that I’ve heard of. (As long as they are here to perform)
Not just “bottom of the barrel” IFA, as WG says there will be EFL players looking for a club come end of contract time and release by existing clubs. Whilst I do have concerns about the quality of recruits the biggest concern for me is a players motive for coming here. “Can’t get anything else” and “It’s another years pay towards retirement” are not the kind of players I want in my team.

All the average fan knows is that we were crap. We don’t know why we were crap although we probably all have opinions. It’s surely the job of the players/manager/coaches to work out why and put it right. They’re paid well enough and that’s their only job.
There has to be some activity sooner rather than later, we don’t yet have enough for a match day squad.
(And where’s this assistant manager?)My memory’s not what it was but didn’t Butler indicate that there were two specific players he was targeting. Can’t believe that they were Brogan and Fishburn. Is he waiting to see which of the legends can still cut it in NLN or if any of the lucky fans might make the grade? As above I’d like to have seen the squad complete, ideally by Monday but certainly before July 1st.
You lot don’t know how to be happy. We didn’t lose did we? Good draw IMO.
THe result wasn’t a disaster, the performance was.
Are him & Spadge still in Australia? Long way to come for a kickabout.
Anybody wearing Kelme?
Never played to his strengths, his record overall stands up well, needs a better manager than he had here to flourish IMO.

Andy Peaks vs Jimmy Dean for example?

The players are good for their clubs, we know that. It’s the managers job to knit their individual strengths into an effective and efficient team playing to those strengths. Giving a player a role in which he doesn’t excel because that’s not what he usually does is not good management IMO. Anybody know Foden’s role last night because he didn’t seem to?

Harry Kane annoys me the most. Southgate should grow a pair and tell him to stop roaming when we’re under the cosh and stick up top. How many times do we have the ball looking to clear and he’s NEVER actually up front to hit ?
Dead right, but, in Kane’s defence, it doesn’t matter how far he roams ‘cos most of the time it takes us 10 minutes to get over the half way line.
Very like Whitehall in that he seems to fall over very easily. TBF he only got one decent pass all game and he cleared a goalbound effort that Pickford might or might not have saved.
Sadly – all too true.
That’s at least two of us then!
I’m with les, a 6ft+ CM.
Signed for Southport last week.
