Kiddy showing the game in their pub, bound to attract plenty on a Friday night that might have travelled on a Saturday.

In Kiddy’s position you’d think they’d be happy with a point.
    Will they try for 3?
If they set up for a draw can we find a way to win?
Will we try to win or try to not lose?
So many questions, answers after 9.30 tomorrow, the anticipation is almost unbearable. C’mon Iron!!

Does this system show the player who runs about a lot but doesn’t quite get where he should be ? !

    Is Wayne Graves still playing?

Now at a level more suited to his ability. The players will surely respect a manager that has worked at a higher level, lack of respect was part of the problem here IMO.

An invitation to complacency if the players see that?

Just read the match report from their OWS, they’re not giving us much credit either.
“The first goal of the afternoon came when Michael Kelly pinged his long-ranger into the box with fine precision. After it came off Ubaezuonu and, later, Danny Whitehall, North East native Roberts was there to volley it in. Although Shields put up a good fight, the game was put beyond any doubt shortly before the final whistle. Kelly whipped another cross into the box, and just like the first it came off Whitehall before it found Beestin who only needed to head it home.”

    “Came off Whitehall” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    1. Whitehall’s shot hit the post.
    2. Whitehall headed the ball back across perfectly for Beestin.
Whoever wrote that is as deluded as the manager.

After watching that it’s good to know that:-
We have easily beaten the best footballing team in the league.
South Shields have absolutely no interest in slowing the game down if they are in front. (yeah right!!)
    Some managers cannot accept blame.

I know we’re not short of MFs but I was impressed by Middlemas for SS. Checked him out and he’s on loan from Sunderland until 22nd September. Wouldn’t mind having him for the rest of the season.

Excellent result, decent performance, very disciplined, very energetic out of possession. Agree with AWG, Carlton could/should have had three and a couple of other good chances missed. Would have made watching much more enjoyable bearing in mind what happened on Saturday.

I thought Norman Collier had left us. No homework at all by the commentator, was it Vitamins in goal and Kahn at CB, I’d also have stuck with Carlton. Scales will be disappointed when he finds out he didn’t score.

Brogan, Rowley & Law all in front of Fin. Also Beestin if AB decides to start Carlton. Bench at best IMO. Just wish he’d go Whitehall, Carlton & Roberts as a front three, would scare most NLN defences.

Well if there going to rely on me as a prerequisite then the answer is no.

They’re looking to make the club sustainable and secure its future. Tough and unpopular decisions are necessary as part of that.

Lucky for me Cox’s mike was very poor, barely heard a word but didn’t miss anything I’ve not heard before I’ll bet.

No idea how many Iron fans listened to the match commentary but I know how many were interested in the score in the Hull KR rugby!!

I’d certainly like to see a few more with the potential to play NL (at least) and on a reasonable NL wage identified and secured similarly. We’ll all have our own ideas on who they should be, let’s trust the board to choose wisely and act.

told him the standing people were more disadvantaged than the seating so said straight away no quibbles 7 years then and a home shirt which they were offering everyone

Maybe if you’d taken a bit longer I would have understood.
    “7 years”?
    ” offering everyone”?

Thinking about that myself Ex O, did Marine over commit to the wrong game.

IIRC several teams that played above themselves against us last season (sometimes winning) were very poor in their next match. Some statto might have examples.

I found it a very tough watch, surprised (and delighted) we got 3 points. So many players way off what they’re capable of. Made picking Fitz as my MOM very easy. Not impressed by Butler this time either, did Jimmy Dean give the pre-match and HT team talk? I didn’t see much evidence of the flexibility of shape that’s talked about.
Roberts for Barrows – Scales moved to RWB
Fishburn for Brogan – Beestin dropped to MF
Law for Kelly – like for like
Rowley for Beestin – like for like
Evans for Whitehall – extra defender, hanging on.

Butler doesn’t see the introduction of subs as weakening the team (I suppose he has to say that really) But 5 subs gives a greater opportunity to take off somebody not influencing the game and replacing them with somebody that will. Fishburn, Brogan and Rowley have shown the ability to do that and it’s likely we can add Carlton to that list very soon. Good options off the bench for a change. (No offence to Evans & Kelly BTW but they have a different role to play)

“Clunan is a nothing captain, with little to no presence or authority. Is he good at doing the phone calls and collecting the subs for the snooker tournaments and golf days?”

He’s quite good at talking to refs but not in the same league as Steven Dawson!

Challenging for a CM start will be Clunan, Scales, Rowley, Brogan, Law and probably Roberts and Beestin (when Carlton is back) depending on formation. Is Braithwaite llikely to get a game? Next season could easily be his time when several of those mentioned will be OOC, will they be retained on much reduced terms?

Hopefully the end of “Free upgrades” for the usual suspects.

Surely a few free upgrades for the AA volunteer force wouldn’t be out of order.
