” Barwick wasn’t great but there’s some stiff competition for worst midfielder.”

Not great? He wasn’t even moderate! There might be stiff competition but Barwick still wins. The ones you mention, and others, might have been poor, indeed poor enough to have been forgotten, but not memorably poor as Terry was.

Don’t underestimate the benefits of 10 outfield players giving 100% rather than 6 or 7.

Optimistic. If we have half the team wanting to prove they’re better than L2 and the other half trying to prove they’re league standard then the effort should be there. If both groups are correct in the assessment of their ability then we should be OK. If we can get the sulker(s) interested as well even better.
As Dutch said there’ll be other teams struggling as well, has there ever before been so much recruitment from National League and below, let’s hope we’ve got some good uns.
    Play-offs.

It could get worse when Manny is fit. 4 good CBs and a shortage of FBs could result in McGahey at RB and Bedeau at LB or 4 CBs plus 2 FBs if it’s a really difficult away game.

Thanks MK. Gillead staying CM might suggest that’s where Cox intends to use him. Shame if so as he’s a quality wide man and needs to be there IMO. Lack of CM and surplus of WM needs rectifying and not by playing somebody out of position. (IMO again)

Once again unable to watch anything but the second half was described to me as Wilcoxesque.
From following the text commentary it appeared that Gilleads first kick was his penalty, where was he playing? Also Jarvis had an early shot and his next touch was his penalty. How close to reality were the above please?

With the first league match on Saturday it would be a surprise (to me anyway) if many of those that played 90 minutes against PV had much involvement tomorrow, although out of necessity, some will have to. McGahey and Hippolyte will get some minutes according to NC and we don’t know who has Covid so selection will be interesting. Would expect Dales, Jarvis, Hallam, Green and Beestin/Mooney to play most/all with maybe O’Malley, Pugh, Barks getting a chance and a quick look at D-Turan a possibility.

As well as Hippolyte I’d have expected Mooney and Beestin to have been in the squad.

#gtfc boss Ian Holloway reveals that striker Ryan Loft had a trial at the Mariners before signing for Scunthorpe United.

Interesting – did he choose us or didn’t they make him an offer?

No, somebody has seen potential in these players, I just hope it’s the manager! None of them are prolific scorers but we only need one of them to come good. I agree we are over staffed upfront (and wide) so I think ‘outs’ are essential, just hope it’s not the top boys but hard to shift any of the others unless the SPL come calling.

It’s a decent enough option if you’re not very good yourself.

I hoped for no wishy washy sentiment NI, “less deaths because we are more aware” the rules of virology wont back that up iam afraid.

For those of us unaware can you give us a quick run down on the rules of virology please.

Don’t see any signs of hysteria, just a large helping of common sense amongst the majority of people. Exceptions being the government, the ‘I’m immune’ youngsters and the “couldn’t care less” brigade.

Still a few days left for a last minute rush, YOUR forum needs YOU.
It’s less than 4p per day to join – fantastic value and a welcome distraction from the dire football we’ve been watching lately.

” Besides, it’s going to be such an odd experience, so different from what you’re used to, that I’m not sure I’d enjoy it anyway.”

    Attacking football you mean?

So, in that case, a 1-0 result would be 10 plus 2 bonus, 1 for both scores. Got it, thanks Matt.

Not clear on point 3 Matt, does this mean if you predict 4-0 and it finishes 2-2 that you get a bonus point?

Yes, I thought we were going to operate with a smaller squad. Looks certain that there will be outgoings to get numbers down, have we already signed replacements for Gillead, Eisa, McGahey, KVV and McAtee? Still need 2 more in IMO.
Regarding salary cap, *I think I read that U23s are not included* so we’re probably well under if that’s the case, as plenty of the squad could be on U23 contracts.

    *Accuracy not guaranteed.

Suppose Hypolyte’s signing could be preparing for a departure?

Sorry for being negative but is another winger what we need?
As for experience – according to Wiki he’s never played in the EFL.

Olomola out 6-8 weeks (hamstring) – Radio Hull. Can’t shift him in the window then!
