Except picked a better player maybe?
Green? Who many thought should take a spell on the bench.
Hallam? If fully fit.
Bunn? Where was he?
O’Neill? Not convinced!
Hackney? Likewise.
We’ve a number of players who are much of a muchness. Lacking that little bit of quality that’ll make the difference.
But we knew that, didn’t we?Pugh.
“Hippolyte with his boots on the wrong feet, meant two errors led to two goals.
Nothing the management team could have done about it!”Except picked a better player maybe?
Could have picked Rowe at CB so let’s hope it was a realisation that 4-4-2 works better. Pugh for Hippo would have been my choice, looks unbalanced with only one wide player unless it’s a 4-3-3?
All doing ZERO to help their TEAM when they need it most.
Great effort. So what are you doing to help the team?
Bought a season ticket
Bought 3 replica kits
Meal in the restaurant before each game
Food & drink at HT
Parking at the ground
Sponsoring players kit
Sponsoring match/match ballWell done, what are you getting in return?

“Yes the team isn’t the best at present but I wonder how they’d react to positive crowd getting behind them.”
Well here’s your answer to that question quoting Mark Lillis from the OWS:-
“The fans have been unbelievable this season.”
“Like I said after the game, it was unacceptable”Anything else you need help with?

Did the owners care about football when we finished 2nd, 16th, 7th, 3rd and 5th?
Yes they probably did then, do you think they do now?

IF(?) the two MF loanees are guaranteed a start under the terms of their loan then little wonder if there is some resentment, where’s the incentive to perform under those circumstances.
BTW there was an article on the OWS when they signed with Cox declaring they were not automatic selections but that seems to have been removed – because it wasn’t true maybe? Possibly, at that time, Cox hadn’t been told they had to play, just speculation of course but, no doubt, all will become clear.2 users thanked author for this post.
“You don’t field a baffling team as we did which was detrimental to ourselves just because you’re obsessed with what the other team offers.”
You do if you’re Cox, that’s his only tactic.

I’ve seen some odd things in my time but that even left me speechless
Probably just as well, how long would the OP have been otherwise?

Good job we – trained well all week
– did our homework on Exeter and knew what to expect
– set up to defend against a team that don’t score
Otherwise it could have been really embarrassing.2 users thanked author for this post.
“I know it was mentioned several times during the Euros but Cox and Southgate seem to have the same corporate manual.”
Southgate has silk purses, Cox – sows ears.
Is he German?
With a build up like that? It couldn’t be could it?
I think the Cass has tee’d somebody up to link his title to the exact opposite
of the ventriloquist ie the dummy!
But nobody has bitten yet.You overestimate my ability – thank you.

Seems harsh, perhaps you could enlighten the masses with the reasons for your opinion, supported by factual evidence maybe?

Didn’t make that clear on the OWS – welcome back Staffy.
Keeping the ball is clearly a major problem. I live in an area where the internet is too poor to obtain ifollow so I end up using SUFC twitter and the OWS text commentary to follow the action (or lack of) It’s amazing how many times The Iron win a free kick and the next minute the opponents have a shot on goal.
Interesting article on the OWS?
” If you are a confident, friendly, reliable and an excellent communicator and you want to work on matchdays at the Sands Venue Stadium then we want to hear from you.
The 50-50 Draw will be returning at the Exeter City game on September 11th and the club require sellers to be part of the matchday team.
Sellers will be required from 1.00pm until just after kick-off on Saturday fixtures with a flat fee paid per game.”1 user thanked author for this post.
“Let us look at the player judgement of Mr Cox – after 2 training sessions and a friendly he wanted KDT !!”
But Sanfran he’s realised that he’s made a mistake, he’s not continually picking KDT trying to prove himself right. If he’s got it wrong this time hopefully he’ll react the same way.
I refer you to my earlier post on this thread repeated below, it was ever thus:-

Big test for Cox this Saturday because, unlike in recent weeks, he has options and we won the last match. Who gets in out of Scrimshaw, Wood, Perry & Hackney and who misses out? Good luck Neil, if we lose then, as far as some Bruers are concerned, you’ll have picked the wrong team for sure!1 user thanked author for this post.
You’re right, nor if we’d won on Saturday.

Thanks Haysie.
Nothing, Cox has signed 2 players he believes are better. He can’t be blamed for that unless he’s proved wrong. IF he’s wrong and they are no better than Pugh he should only be blasted if he keeps picking them before Pugh anyway. He did say recently that Pugh was his first choice RB so room for all 3 you would think.
September 5, 2021 at 9:15 pm in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #213253Makes it easy for the opposition too, this is how we play so this what Scunthorpe will do to counter it. Get a grip Neil and let the other team worry about us for a change. Old school 2-3-5 on Saturday and see what they make of that!

I understand your frustration Sanfran but Cox’s reputation (such that it is) is at stake here. If Thompson is better than O’Malley then he must play, if he isn’t then why is he here. Similarly if Wood and Hackney are better than Pugh then they have to play or their signings are a massive mistake. Clearly Cox believes he needed better than he had, time will tell if he was right.

Our young’uns who have all done so well?
On the bench if they are lucky.
Older players, anyone here last year and loanees?

Several recent loanees have been bench warmers but that was because they weren’t good enough. I’ve said before that IMO loanees should be nailed on to start (Yates, Toney, Gabriel, Lansbury, Cork) otherwise the loan would seem pointless (Thomas, Miller, Liddle, Ugbo et al).

It looks possible(?) that Cox might be favouring a 5-3-2 set up in tha absence of quality wingers. He’s said, wrongly IMO, that Pugh is his first choice RB so, if we need 3 fit CMs every week then Kenyon, Perry, Beestin, Wood & Hackney looks OK. If Kenyon fails to improve then Pugh could supplement and, who knows, Hallam might be fit occasionally too.
Can’t remember the name of last years Middlesbrough loanee as he didn’t play much. Surely this one must be better.
