The excuse why Brogan was benched was because he’d played two games!!

I had to chuckle at this remark too. And the reasoning that we struggled to create chances because Alfreton had a long throw! He’s lost the plot.

Hoofball up to three forwards, none of whom are wingers and none of whom are forwards that are going to run in behind and play on the shoulder of the last defender. So even if Beck does win his headers, who’s running on to them!?
A baffling formation which is even more baffling with the players asked to play in said formation. Butler has last the plot!

Awful, awful, awful. Teams win their games in hand and we could be down to 9th (yes they won’t win them all but we can barely register a shot on target so won’t be picking up many points any time soon either!).

You wouldn’t know which team were 1st vs 15th in league before the game kicked off…and if anything you would have went for Darlington being top going on the performance so far.

If he gets 10 I’d be delighted.
!5 from Whitehall, 15 Roberts, 10 Williams, 10 Carlton and 20 from everybody else and we should be OK.We scored 84 last season, the most in the league, and our three top scorers were:
Whitehall (21)
Elliott (11)

Think he’s actually the type of player we need and have been missing since Connor Smith went back up North.
If he’s fit and half the player he was when first here then it’s a fine signing imo, especially being on non-contract terms with no real risk.
The big question is where does he fit into this turgid Butler formation!?

All I know is that he scored a fair few important goals for us last season. If we’re to play 2 up top then it needs to be Whitehall plus someone new (Carlton is no striker and neither is Beestin. Also haven’t seen anything from Fish to suggest he can play alongside Whitehall).

After 12 games last season under Dean we had 20 points. This season under Butler we have 25 whilst only conceding a whopping total of 5 goals.
I know which start I’d rather have!

Definitely room for improvement and we rode our luck at times, but we would have dropped points in that type of game last season.
The signs of a successful season are there though, especially after breaking the curse of the North East and now the Curzon hoodoo!

The back three is looking particularly strong, and what a signing Nicholson is turning out to be.
It’s not being mentioned much that we’ve only conceded 1 goal in over 600 minutes of football…that is rather impressive!
